Well, since I am of Amish heritage, let me help you out a bit. Folks seem to think that Mennonites and Amish are the same folks-we are often genetically related but most of the similarities end there. Religiously, they/we are related like Lutherans and Catholics. Here, there are no Amish playing football. He most surely had Mennonite teammates. My in-laws lived just down the street from the high school he attends.

Otherwise, this young man holds at least 4 star talent. If he puts in the work he is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

OK, I'm confused.  Maybe this is a teachable moment for me, but, what did you say that's so offensive?  Help me out here outsidethebox.  Was this offensive?  I certainly don't want to speak out of turn, but I'm also trying to know what I don't know, so I can be more considerate.  Appreciate it.

Germans. Amish are ethnically German.  If I recall correctly they still speak the original dialect of their ancestors within the community.

UMHS has had Amish volunteers. I worked at Target years ago with what I believed to be two Mennonites girls. They wore very conservative clothing, but they were cute. Abigail and Anna. They were sisters. Blond and a brunette.

My mother was raised Amish. They tell me that my first words were in Pennsylvania Dutch-the Amish language dialect.

A brief history: The Mennonite name comes from a Dutch priest/reformer who was born in 1496, Menno Simons. The Anabaptist movement actually began in Switzerland around 1520. The Amish are named after Jacob Amman who was a Swiss Anabaptist-born around 1650. Amman thought the Mennonites were becoming to worldly-so the "Amish" splintered off.

From the outside looking in there is this legend that we Anabaptists are very quiet, peace-loving people. And while this may be partially true the fact is that there has been (forever) and continues to be an internal, intra-sect war in place-we argue about every stupid little nit-picky thing. I do not know if it is a good thing that the Mennonite denomination that I grew up in is in a rapid numbers decline. For me, personally, it is both sad and a relief.

And finally, for everyone holding grandiose notions that romanticize the virtues of Mennonites and Amish...bless you...but we are first and foremost just regular folks-like everyone else with a very similar ratio of goodness and badness. Just so you know.

I love the NFL style recruiting on the defensive line since 2021.  Planet eating interior tackles that have their own gravitational field coupled with talented speed rushers on the outside.  This is the recipe.

I love the interior DL we've been recruiting!

Also watched film of Jojo Edmond and that kid looks awesome, he sure looks bigger than 180 lbs. already, wait till Herbert gets him into the program.

Awesome get. He's a very quick and athletic guy for someone his size. Him and Owen are definitely in the Grant/Graham mold of being unusually quick and nimble for interior DL. I think the DL is the highlight of this class.

I do not follow recruiting like some others on here do, but I do believe recruiting high-end talent makes it easier to win.  However; he is a big body that would be perfect in the middle of the DL, and with Elston and Minter's development I am sure he will be a great college player here.
