Donovan Edwards Appreciation Thread

From committing to Michigan in a snowstorm on live TV, to helping lead us to our first win in Columbus since 2000, to his 2 TDs in the biggest game of his life tonight… THANK YOU DONOVAN!

For context, he was asked about his frustrations this year and this interview from CFP Media Day (2 days ago) says everything you need to know about this kid. He’s always been a team first player and we know he’s heard about all his struggles on the field. Yet he always stayed ready for his moment, and he’s so deserving of it. Wishing him all the success in his future, wherever that may be. Champion forever!

I also saw that interview the other day and felt very proud of him and, yet again, appreciative of how the program under Coach Harbaugh’s leadership seems to mold recruits into team-first men of character. Donovan’s runs tonight brought me back to that glorious victory over OSU in 2022. Per his official bio: “Posted 216 yards with two touchdowns on 22 carries at Ohio State (Nov. 26), breaking off touchdown runs of 75 and 85 yards.”

I will also add that my 5 yo son was miffed that Donovan didn't get offensive player of the game tonight. He is a Blake fan, for sure, but tonight he liked The Don.

As a strong Christian, and spouse to a therapist, he may be my favorite player of all time. Love this guy.  Football aside, he's a great human being.

YES!!

When Seth, Brian, and Alex talked about how Washington's defense misses tackles and puts RB's in space, I thought, DE is going to go off, and this game isn't going to be close. Congrats to him and that O-line, who has to be the most athletic, tough, and disciplined in the nation at run blocking. Some of the pulls made my jaw drop. The whole rushing attack looked as good as 2022: efficient AND explosive.

A lot of peole have been shitting on Donovan all year, calling him a bum, saying all he's ever done is two long runs against Ohio State. This dude is a bad motherfucker. He's a threat to go the distance very play. He had a tough year, but people forget he nearly put up 1000 yards rushing last season, and for a second year in a row, he's been clutch in the biggest game on our schedule.

The Don!! Best of luck with whatever you decide to do next. Your contributions to the success of this program, particularly in huge games, cannot be overstated.

I'm really glad that you made this thread.  Donovan has been a great team player this year (and throughout his career).  I was at the Rutgers game last year in NJ and he carried tons of enthusiasm and energy on the sideline.  What a great young man.  It was great to see him with that burst of speed on those runs.  Even in the Alabama game there were a couple of glimpses of his aggressive running that we were missing earlier in the season.  Just those little things like falling forward with momentum instead of getting pushed backwards.  I'm so happy for him.

I think this guy deserves A LOT of credit for Michigan winning the NC. He really set the right tone for the game with his vision, and making the decisions to hit the holes that were available to him.

Hitting those holes, and getting those touchdowns early sparked the team.
