Do you think Harbaugh will actually run the score up?

Submitted by Mineral King on November 12th, 2019 at 4:34 PM

I mean blatantly. Like going for two when not needed running it up. I really hope so. If he did this, could anyone else see Mork taking a swing or chest bumping Harbaugh after the game? I think he would cause he knows he’s done anyways. How would Harbaugh realistically respond? I think he’d laugh and run off. In a real fight we all know what the outcome would be.

I'm sure this goes against popular opinion but I've been around long enough to know better.  I think that he wont have a chance to run up the score and will have to coach his ass off just to win this game.  MSU maybe a hot mess right now but they still have a good football team.  Biggest difference is we are trending up and they are trending down.  Throw all that out the window, they haven proven they won't walk into Michigan Stadium and lay down at any point.  I hope I'm wrong and we are sitting at 42-0 after scoring a touchdown with 30 seconds left.  Then recover an onside kick and throw a hail mary for a touchdown with seconds remaining so we can go for 2!

I agree that MSU will fight hard and probably prevent a complete dismantling but they are not a good football team by any stretch. They are a bad football team that has looked bad against anybody they have played who has a pulse. They have a good run defense and the rest of their team is bad or worse.

No he won’t, but it’s moot anyhow because we’re never getting out to a big lead to begin with.

The game will go down to the wire.

I hope not. Win the game. No injuries. Keep a low profile. Don't let them see you coming. Every time we puff out our chests, karma slaps those little tassels on our moobs...

Many on this board need a reality check. Michigan has lost eight of the last twelve. Michigan will have to play well to win against the most motivated foe it will play all year.

Did it not occur to anyone yet that MSU is wounded animal?

They were humiliated last week.

The only thing that can possibly happen for the rest of this season that would put a smile on their faces for the rest of their lives is winning on Saturday.

They are going to come to play.

Oh, and BTW, Army and MTSU are both 3-6 teams right now. And we barely beat them.

I drink the MI Kool Aid as heartily as anyone. But anyone talking about running up the score must not have seen many MI-MSU games.

Don't count on Mork Dildodio laying the egg Brian Kelly laid.

No, he’s not going to blatantly run up the score.   Would he have the team remain aggressive and trying to score late if it’s a blowout?  Yeah maybe.

Harbaugh went for meaningless two point conversions against Rutgers in both 2015 and 2016. I think that's the only time he's been accused of running up a score.  Something about Rutgers pisses him off.

As much as Sparty deserves it, there will be no running up the score in this one.

I really get the feel that Mork was kissing Jim's ass with the HOF comments. Trying to take the edge off the animosity and soften things so Jim dosen't  have it in him to run it up.  I think Mork knows this is his last hurrah and dosen't want an ass beating to be the last thing people remember from him in this rivalry.

We couldn’t run up the score on Maryland because we shot ourselves in the foot 5 or 6 times. 31 points scored by the offense...OSU’s 2’s/3’s scored 31 in a half.  We couldn’t name the score on Maryland, we sure won’t on MSU.

Notre Dame got slapped around because we are tough and they are soft. We embraced rain, they folded and let us savage them. It was a pathetic display, we had them tap out early.

Sparty isn’t all that good but you can be damn sure they’ll be looking to lay the wood on us. They hit hard, play dirty and hate our fuggin’ guts. They won’t fold like ND did if we try to pour it on they’ll start taking cheap shots and that gets guys hurt.

Do we know what would happen in a real fight? Idk they’re both former athletes and Mork is in good physical shape which is what determines the winner in most fights.

If the score gets one-sided then you can expect backup QBs and RBs.  Maybe Don Brown could rotate in some underclassmen.  I can see Michigan continue to score through the end of the game but not with the starters still on the field if it were to come to it.

Run the score up?  MSU looks like crap, but so does our offense, and this is still a rivalry game.  Not to mention that D'Antoni always has his team ready against us.  I'll be happy with a win, but I'm not expecting one.

Michigan's offense since the Wisconsin game has not been on the same level of bad as MSU. UM's receivers, RB's, WR's, Oline are all clearly better than MSU's. Patterson is also having a better year than Lewerke.  I agree that MSU will extra juice like they always do, but not expecting a win is a tad negative. UM's defense will likely dominate MSU's offense just like last year.

I hope we practiced getting better at offense in the bye week.  If we misfire out of the gate then it'll be close to the end.  Not what I want.  Come out sharp and play with passion.  This is the final stretch.  We need to look good consistently if we want to finish 10-2.

I would love to see, but I really don't think that is how the game will unfold. A combination of MSU's having extra juice for this game like always and UM playing it conservatively cause they don't think MSU can move the ball will probably prevent a complete dismantling. Most likely outcome is a game like last year where the defense dominates the game while the offense is conservative, doesn't pass enough, etc and the score ends up closer than the actual difference between the two teams. If it is like last year, the game will essentially be over if UM is able to open up a two score lead and the coaches probably go into turtle mode at that point.
