Dickinson treats team managers to Outback dinner
A while ago there were posts about Cade McNamara leveraging a NIL deal to get his offensive lineman jackets, as well as a steak dinner. Well, Hunter Dickinson similarly hooked the bball team managers up w/ a dinner at Outback, via a NIL partnership.

As a general thank-you, or a special one for scrimmaging after the Big Ten tournament loss, so the team could move on?
The Team, the Team, the Team!
bloomin' onion ftw
Any way you slice it, this is a very classy move from the big man. Go Blue, Beat Nova!!!
I can't not upvote a Gemstones clip. How they ever get a scene done with a straight face is beyond me.
OMG, I have never seen any of this show since I haven't had HBO in about 8 years. Too frickin hilarious 😂😂😂.
Edi Patterson absolutely steals just about every scene she's in.
Too long of a wait at Red Lobster?
I remember when Outback and Red Lobster used to have good food. Outback is probably closer to where he lives.
Olive Garden is the OG!!! In more ways than one.
Outback and red lobster probably have the same food. You’re just grumpier
I had a team manager family member back in the beilein era. Those guys do a ton of work behind the scenes. They practice one on one's, do film work, a lot of individual work with players. Late hour work after players leave. Luckily they can earn a scholarship for it but it can interfere with school work.
Don’t care what any of you snobs say, Outback is delicious. I mean, it’s no Longhorn but it’s always a treat.
Porterhouse with 3 eggs on top ftw.
People can hate on their steaks, but their burger is very good.
That's like saying Applebees is no Chilis.
I refuse to eat at either. Terrible food. Applebees used to be decent but went all "faux tex-mex."
TGI Fridays was OK back in the day though. Their Jack Daniels steak and shrimp combo was delicious.
There was a Fast Fridays in a mall in Plano, TX that had the best Friday Burger -- cheddar, sauteed mushrooms, and grilled onions. Mm, Mm, good.
Agreed, the TGIF Jack Daniels steaks were fantastic, but like you said that was back in the day, but not so much anymore. Fortunately you can buy the same JD steak sauce for home grilled steaks that is just as tasty.
And it clearly isn’t.
Chili's has/had a decent black bean burger for vegetarians actually. Better than tofu burgers.
I rather sit in the snow in the dead of winter manning my grill with a 22 oz ribeye than eat a steak at Longhorn, Outback etc. It just tastes better. Also, I know how I like it cooked without arguing or just eating whatever over/undercooked thing they bring out.
That being said outback does have decent food otherwise. I have eaten an entire bloomin onion by myself before.
Decent is a stretch. Last I went there, I had a free $20 coupon or something and everything was very bad. I'll give you the blooming onion (as long as you don't mind the 800 calories and 1500 grams sodium) but just about everything else is plain bad.
It's like Red Lobster, there are so many better places to get seafood in any decent size city.
Funny story, my wife's aunt always comes in from Maryland and insists on Red Lobster. We are always like really, all the seafood you want in MD and all the options in Chicagoland, and that's your call?
I'd go to bdubs before either.
I know Cade went to the Chop House but when I played, before NIL (obviously) Outback or Damon’s was about as good as you could ever hope for on the road. That meal was for winning teams. My 21 yo self would have LOVED this.
what I’m saying is, many of us may not fully appreciate how good Outback Steakhouse appears to some college guys out on the road who don’t have NIL deals. Great move Hunter!
I miss Damon’s. That is, before they lost their mind and started charging $27 for a half rack. I think there is one left in Ohio.
Same. I have fond memories of their steak and ribs combo!
They still have one in Myrtle Beach and a great internet address.
I pretty much ate (and drank) free at Damon's on 44th Street in Wyoming back when they did competitive sports trivia. Winners would get a $50 gift card, second place would get $25. Sometimes, there'd only be 5-10 players and I'd win half the time. Those were the days.
Enjoyed a few good meals and beers at that Damon's when I lived in Wyoming. Was sad to see it close back in the day.
Probably saw you there, had a lot of friends who lived in Ramblewood Apts.
Never been to Damon's, but I uses to really enjoy Red Robin. Great burgers and salad bar.
I think I read before you say you're in Rockford, MI, right? I went to HS in Cedar Springs and so was in Rockford plenty.
Random note, but sounds like Saddi may be leaving to take the WMU job per one of the insider posters at 247. Bummer but great for him. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember that Saddi made more as an assistant at UM than the WMU head coach made.
OUTBACK dinner was cool.
Next time, GANDY DANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gandy Dancer! Starving student for 4 years, I saved up for a celebration date there my last week in Ann Arbor.
Also, hitch-hiking home usually meant trekking past its neighborhood to get to 14 north, the place as a reminder of people who didn't have to hitchhike.
I was actually at outback when this happened. This was from selection Sunday lol. Nice try on his end though.
Dammit...I want my Hunter Dickerson to be mean and NASTY....now u went and ruined all that
What a good Kid...Now..can he put on 50 lbs and get MEAN for Thursday Puh leeze we need the BEAST to show up
The guy just dropped 27 and 11 on Tennessee and you're worried that he's not mean enough?
Inspired by the Martelli presser:
Dickinson needs to score an NIL deal with the WWE.
Somebody get in touch with the Steiner brothers.
No rules, just right.
He and Williams (at least) were at Crisler last night to support their counterparts.
Great gesture and I love the culture of the program at large. Also Hunter is a top 5 big man in Program history.
There's a lot of love from top to bottom on that team: All for one and one for all.
I saw in the their locker-room post game after beating Tennessee on Saturday on TV. It was a great celebration.
Not to be a party pooper, but he pretty clearly didn't "treat" the managers. He's got an endorsement deal with them and I'd bet my left arm that this meal was on the house as long as he posted about it on insta.
Still cool, but just sayin'.
So what? He could have brought teammates. Could have brought frat bro's from the dorm. Could have taken family members. He chose to take the team trainers - who get zero recognition and are the butt of every movie joke ever.
But go ahead, diminish the gesture.
Lol. I didn't "diminish the gesture." I said it was cool. How do you know he could have taken family members or teammates? Maybe this was part of the deal?
Major props to Hunter for getting paid. I'm glad he's working these endorsement deals, but I also don't think it's a huge humanitarian gesture to take the team trainers out to a meal when he's getting paid good money to do so.
Ya think?
Pretty nice of him. Also I feel obligated to point out that Foster's is easily the worst thing ever made to be consumed by a human mouth.
Disagree. Foster's isn't good by any stretch, but there are dozens of beers that are worse.
Maybe it’s not meant for the mouth. Can you say beer enema?
