Good. It’s time for Detroit to rebuild. Stafford is now dead weight, and he has a shit attitude. Better to start over now.

You either have not been watching the Lions lately, or you don't know the first thing about football. Matt Stafford has been an upper echelon quarterback in 3 of the last 4 seasons for the Lions. Their moribund franchise would have been lucky to win 2 or 3 games a year without him over the past few seasons. He made them vaguely competitive.

He and Kelly also have done a lot of charity and been great ambassadors for the city of Detroit. I would think anyone who's paying attention or appreciates his contributions to the city and the franchise would wish him well and understand his desire to move on and pursue winning championships rather than go through yet another rebuild at this stage in his career.

Not sure how one could come to these conclusions and have the slightest idea what they are talking about.

If by dead weight you mean salary cap space that can be better used with more players, then you are right.  He would be completely overpaid and underused during a rebuild...

Edit: You edited and added more shit.  But you certainly clarified that your post is bullshit...

I certainly it agree that he would be much more highly regarded but Brees and Manning are two of the top 5-10 quarterbacks of all time.  Stafford’s accuracy issues will prevent him from ever being in their company

I’d love for my Niners to propose a trade with Detroit for Stafford. With Shanahan’s offense and the weapons surrounding Stafford, including an actual Left Tackle, offensive line, and stable of RBs, I think he’d be amazing. Make this happen, Lynch!

I hope they give him a good trade, like Verlander got.  He's earned that - he was never the problem in Detroit and he's done a fair amount of work for the community.  But I can see the Lions ditching him for some middling deal with another crap team so they can tell us what a steal they got.

Maybe Homes and Campbell will be different?  We're about to find out...

Trade him to San Fran, New England or Washington for their first.  Rebuild.  Hope wherever he goes he wins the whole damn thing.

I don't necessarily think the QB pick needs to be this year. This team doesnt have the talent to compete for much in 2021 anyway. Holmes is in a position where he can basically pick who he thinks is bpa throughout most of the draft. Talent scouting is his schtick so maybe we'll select some guys who can play for once.

Another potential option is Sam Darnold. Hes shown some potential, is still 23, shouldnt cost too much and every person in football agrees he needs a new team. Sure the Lions are Jets level disfunctional but if the price is right it might be a fairly safe risk to take.

In a better world Detroit would have surrounded him with a better team and they likely would have accomplished more than they have, but it's probably time to move on.  I don't think they'll get a ton for him in a trade, but I absolutely could see a team looking to win now (like, say, the Colts) take a run at him.  Hell, the Bears keep fashioning themselves as a contender (for some inexplicable reason in my eyes) and might kick the tires.  I honestly don't know enough about other teams and their cap numbers to make a great guess, but Stafford is still an upper-half of the league in terms of starter QBs and probably has a couple years left of good production in him even with the injuries.
