Davison Igbinosun:6’2 cornerback in transfer portal from Ole Miss who visited Michigan on Sunday gets a crystal ball to Ohio State

This would double suck because we need corners and he would also go to Ohio State. I can see them pitching that he would be practicing every day against 5 star wide receivers in practice.

Oh man, he gets to take another trip to Ann Arbor in November where he'll be part of the 3rd consecutive loss!

the only bad thing is they won't be undefeated coming into A2 next year.... but it'll still be sweet, the three-pete

Why even post this. I didn't think he was going with Michigan. But I stupidly got a little hope up.  Lot's of good teams wanted him.

Name one OSU corner that this has helped since Meyer left. OSU’s secondary, relative to the amount of talent it recruits, is and has been atrocious since at least last season.

The CB is from some national guy (Chris Hummer) I've never heard of who appears to be based out of Texas and has a 60% accuracy rate.  Not sure why he'd have any specific insight into this recruitment.

The Michigan Recruiting Insider that aired on Friday was interesting. Sam and Brice were basically saying they still think Michigan leads for Harbor going into his Oregon visit and would put it at 60% Michigan and 40% the field. They also said that if Harbor abides by his stated criteria (which is a big if) then Michigan should be the pick. Michigan is actually currently higher ranked in track than Oregon. They also said that other school's analysts are also confident, but Sam and Brice see some parallels to the Jyaire Hill recruitment with Harbor trying to make his recruitment entertaining

I don't think anything is surprising anymore. NIL made every recruitment a wildcard. It's kind of refreshing in a way. I used to get butthurt about kids picking other schools over Michigan, but now I can always just default to "oh, well he probably got more money to go to ____________". Puts the blame on money instead of anything else. Like when a hot chick is with an ugly rich guy.

There was a point that all "insiders" agreed that Michigan led - all of them, not just Michigan insiders...but that was like November and he wasn't signing early so I don't think anyone believed that it mattered back then.

The same can be said for NT Jamel Howard.

Michigan led for him when he decommitted...but that was 3 months ago.

To clarify, when I say I can see them pitching the practicing against 5 star receivers every day, I’m not saying that is a logical pitch or that will help him against us or to get to the NFL, I can just see Day’s cheesy ass saying it trying to make sure we don’t land him.

I don't have any insight as to what will happen with this recruitment or with Nyckoles Harbor, other than to say there is a 100% chance of wailing and gnashing of teeth if we don't get one or both or every five star recruit ever.  The coaching staff can't recruit, we're fuxxing up NIL, THE GOLDARNED SKY IS FALLING.  FIRE EVERYONE.

I'm Indifferent on Harbor because he's not great with the ball in the air, he doesn't have great agility, and his route running needs a ton of work. All issues for someone playing WR/TE in a Funchess/Evan Engram role.

The CB would be a huge blow. I've been vocal that we need another elite CB (+ another guy with experience).

It's by far the weakest position on the team after losing Turner and Green. The guys we have returning will compete, and there will be PT for anyone who rises to the top...but they're young and we still need guys who've already done it.

The only saving grace is...it doesn't have to be today. We can go through the spring with what we have, get more reps to guys and hope a Ja'Den McBurrows type develops into that #3. When the portal opens again in May...getting the best CB available will be imperative. And now you only need 1 CB instead of 2.

That would suck to miss out on him but there is no doubt that this year proved they need him more than we do.  Hopefully he is just trolling them.  Go Blue!

UM could use a corner but they have options on the team.  I also think people sometimes overrate playing time on bad defenses.  I'm sure he's talented but not breaking into the lineup at UM behind two upperclassmen corners on a top-10 defense shouldn't invalidate the guys on the roster

No doubt there are options on the roster, but there is a reason Will Johnson came in as an instant impact player.  Same as Dax and Jabrill.  Igbinosun is closer to their profiles than the majority of options on the roster currently.  He's not a slam dunk but his ceiling is very high and he's already proven he can stay on the field against SEC competition.

Will Johnson did it.

Green was also assaulted and out for multiple games.

Michigan was also ahead by enough to rotate in other guys (just like Rolder broke into ths rotation at LB or El-Hadi at LG).

There were opportunities for guys to play last year with and without those two experienced CBs. Only one guy did it.

Guys typically flash before they develop into starters...or you at least hear practice hype. There have been a few whispers on McBurrows before he got hurt...and that's it.

Time to take off the maize and blue glasses...if we had guys who were ready, we would have seen them.

Even guys like Stokes, Clemons, Morris, and Micah Pollard have gotten meaningful snaps under their belt...even if they didn't have a huge role. Just getting more than garbage time is an accomplishment.

We had starters injured at CB, plenty of garbage time, plenty of opportunities. And all year the #2s were Jalen Perry and Keshaun Harris...and then Perry got hurt and it was German Green and Keshaun Harris.

So the young guys didn't even pass up the #2s, let alone break into the rotation. Not sure I understand what you're talking about.

Kody Jones was the closest one...and he plays NB behind Sainristil and Rod Moore (when we went with 3 safeties and plays Moore with Paige and Moten). So you can't even count him.

This isn't OL. We've seen Persi, El-Hadi, Crippen, Anderson, Atteberry, and even Gentry. CB doesn't have a single guy like those 5 or 6.

Right now we're just praying for McBurrows AND Jyaire Hill to be at least HM All-B1G caliber players. That's a huge ask. It would be a heck of a lot easier to have a 2nd starter and then bank on one of those two (or Harris, Green, Perry) to develop into that 3rd starter.

Michigan has a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team, minus one position (assuming K and P are solid). Now is the time to go all-in, not bank on guys who couldn't break into the 2-deep to miraculously develop into starters.

If Im playing Michigan next season I may just send the WR Johnson is covering on a fly route damn near every play then just work underneath him.
