He also has a substantial buyout.  It's been reported at $20 million but Feldman says its actually much more then that.  It could also be that Alabama wasn't willing to pay that much to pry him out of Oregon.

Lanning is the greatest argument for elevating Moore to HC if Harbaugh leaves. Similar age and track record.

If Moore is the guy I hope he hires a talented OC who can develop the passing game. Passing game has to be the off-season project regardless if JJ returns or not. I would like to see some NIL invested in getting someone like Evan Stewart from A&M who is a terrific young WR to go with what they got.

Not saying go away from running game. That’s Michigan’s identity.

But I would like to see more creativity in playcalling, greater ability of WRs to get separation..etc. A lot of the breakdowns offensively this year I felt had to do with deficiencies in the above stated areas.

Morris, Semaj, and Loveland are a very good nucleus. Would love to see English and Moore come on. Would like to see some more size at WR.

I think we'd all like the pass game to be better. I definitely would. However, didn't they just prove that the pass game doesn't need to be better? They won a championship and beat the #1 passing team -- with what we had. And I'll be the first to admit, I didn't think we could do it without a better passing game and/or JJ running a lot more.

Lanning gets a lot of hype, but I haven't really been that impressed. He should've beaten Washington once, if not twice. And all his analysis of the championship game beforehand and at halftime was completely wrong. At halftime he sounded like he was hoping Michigan's defense would fail, just to save himself the embarrassment of seeing another team accomplish what he couldn't accomplish in two opportunities. I wouldn't have been excited for Lanning if I were a Bama fan (given their standards and the attractiveness of the job).

IF YOU ARE SCARED YOUR COACH IS LEAVING, THEN COME PLAY FOR US

Pretty compelling argument for them.

For us . . . yeah, I got nothing.

You do not want to be the man after the man.

The next guy is going to be crucified for not winning NC every 2 years.  The guy after him will be a great place to be.

Lanning seems like the kind of guy who really means it. He also seems like he kind of guy that wants to build his own legacy and be known as the godfather of his own program rather than someone who sits in the long shadow of  Nick Saban as the designated successor. Probably because of ego/pride but he seems like he wants his own statue in Eugene.
