My voice is shot today and it is awesome. I was there with my son and every time the war chant started I had an "uh oh" feeling, but then the dominant wolverine crowd drowned that sh** out!!! One of my colleagues, an FSU fan, was also at the game and she texted me several times with "this is a freakin homegame for you guys!". It's great to be a Michigan wolverine!

sent me videos which were very loud. She loved it, even from the rafters. When I asked what her Staples Center experience was for her and friend on scale of 1-10, "11" was her answer, as she felt she was attending Michigan home game in L.A. Hard to get the full effect from the telecast as the 3 announcers would not stop talking except when they went to break.

Exactly. Hell if it was anyone but Michigan I'd be all in for Loyola too.
username checks out.
Thanks for the report. We'll be counting on you to give us home court advantage again in SA.

Screw both of you for living my dream. /s
Also, screw my eyes and being red/green colorblind.
during his locker room comments post-game.
Yeah I thought I heard him say it felt like they were in Ann Arbor and all of the players gave a yeahhh of agreement

It was a great crowd for both teams, but clear that Michigan fans vastly outnumber FSU. It sounded like the most fun at a tournament game I've heard in a long time. And with both team so far from home, it was just awesome!
It was honestly probably 85%-15%, but the FSU fans that were there were loud.

But how is this plausible Michigan doesn't have basketball fans just ask Mike The butt hurt Valenti

I was at the game and all the fans were crazy noisy, just yelling and screaming like maniacs! We did the wave and everything!
I've never heard Mom's basement that loud, like ever.

This is why playing in major cities is a very underrated advantage for Michigan. A lot of folks were up in arms about not playing in Detroit, but being in the west with LA as the regional was always going to be a huge advantage for us. Put Michigan in New York or LA - the country's two largest centers of commerce, and it's a home game.
That advantage declines a bit as you get to the secondary and tertiary cities. San Francisco, Chicago would be pretty good, other large cities decent as well. A place like San Antonio will not be a hotbed of Michigan alumni, but it's the final four, so folks will travel. That said, if Texas Tech or Kansas makes it, their fanbases will have a bit of an advantage in terms of georgraphy.
I will leave you with this: once LA's new football stadium is built, expect Final Fours to be a regular occurance in LA and for Michigan to have an absolute advantage for those weekends.

The Ugly: I probably shouldn’t say this at this moment, but forgive me if I may be a little too bitter. This was a home game for Michigan. The outnumbering was incredible – so incredible it was frequently brought up by people before the game and even randoms watching people go by would say things like, "Finally, a Florida State fan." It was something like 90% Michigan fans. And that’s OK. I don’t believe in fan-shaming; I really don’t blame anyone for not spending big bucks flying out here and getting tickets, especially on short notice. But I don’t want to hear any more of this BS from people about how we "should expect more," or that our resource disparity isn’t that big, or that the lack of fan support is somehow just because the team is boring or Ham has underachieving teams or any of that crap. There was some living proof in the Staples Center tonight about why the administration doesn’t see big investments in the basketball program as likely to produce a big ROI. Ham may not be doing an A+ job but he is producing pretty damn well for the level of support this program gets. I just had to get it off of my chest, even if maybe I’ll regret being pissy tomorrow.

The weird thing to me was that FSU actually seemed to have fewer fans in the building Saturday than they did Thursday. On Thursday, they had about 2 1/2 sections pretty much filled opposite Michigan's bench -- it looked like the section that they got from the NCAA plus about 1 1/2 more. On Saturday, they seemed to have half that many fans -- they were mostly just in the NCAA-provided section, and even that wasn't full.
I can't understand traveling out to see the Sweet 16, winning it, and then not going to the Elite 8 game, but I swear there were some FSU fans who did that.
It's an incredible experience to get to attend a home game for Michigan in a city you moved to that's 2,200 miles from campus.
The crowd was INCREDIBLE! I have absolutely no voice today and I couldn't be happier about it. Especially in the second half, we really turned it up.
I know several LA people who went and were neutral and they were shell-shocked by how dominant a prescence we were, they said it was way louder than Lakers games.
