Obviously Howard playing with lineups but Dickinson going to need to play a lot of minutes this year.

i would like to see more subbing. instead of 6-7 min stretches for davis and dickinson, make it 4-5 min. i think that would keep them fresher on the court.

Absolutely shit show last few minutes. I think one thing we learned, is Davis can’t play any minutes when the games on the line. He’s so limited.
The team still doesn’t have enough elite talent to make a lot of noise in the Big Ten or Big Dance

Smith, Livers, Brown, Brooks, and Davis are all seniors. Johns is a junior. Franz played professionally in Europe. They have more than enough experience to not have a six-minute stretch like that against a team like this.

Game breaks down when Dickinson and Smith aren't playing. This team is far more effective with tempo than playing half court ball. We have poor on the ball defense and nobody is ever at the rim. The team got very lethargic with the lead and it snowballed. Johns should be getting minutes left over from HD and Davis should play sparingly.

The difference in energy and skill that the new blood on this team brings is clear. Dickinson, Smith, Brown will be huge keys going forward. Other than Livers, last year's players often have stretches where they're just ineffective.

In 1991, Eric Riley started the first 3 games before Juwan Howard replaced him. Does anyone think Juwan is just following Fisher's lead?
I don't mean to compare Riley and Davis as Riley was a 7-footer that had several double-double games in the B1G.

Eric Riley was super talented, Davis is not. I'm not sure why he's starting at this point. Id like HD to come in a establish the post right off the bat, not 8 minutes into the game. This team is triple teaming HD and playing Davis straight up. The offense would be wide open with Hunter in there.

Started out with plenty of energy and then just bogged down on the offensive end. Not great to have Ball State on the ropes and then let them back in with confidence. Let's hope the team gets that energy back to start the second half.
It is really nice to have enjoyable sports to watch though, flipping between MBB and hockey. With how this year has gone, I'm glad to have the games to watch.
