I got a dollar in my pocket saying this is somehow related to Michigan standing down.
Clink may have deleted his Twitter account several days ago, but this all may have been getting worked behind the scenes since then as well.
My completely uneducated guess but attempting to read the tea leaves? There is at least something to suggest that Clink was aware of what was going on with Stallions and didn't report it, and Michigan made the decision to cut bait with him (whether now or at season's end, who knows) in return for the Big Ten considering its investigation closed and not intervening any further, unless new information comes to light in the NCAA investigation.
And who knows, maybe the NCAA decided it would back off of "fast-tracking" its investigation as an additional "sweeten the deal" offering.

The Big Ten would’ve had no reason to stay silent on this and suspend Harbaugh if they had dirt on Clink. And even if they did, firing him before the NCAA has even muttered a word? None of it makes sense.

Serious question now. How does anyone have the time to monitor these things? I know there's speculation on when he actually did it, but it seems to be narrowed down to a few days window. WHO is watching anyone's social media so closely that they can determine his account is gone and that it's recent? Especially a relatively non-prominent member of the staff? (Not trying to drag the poor guy, but Minter, Moore, Harbaugh, Harbaugh the Younger, hell even the S&C coach get more attention than Steve Clinkscale.)
