Clemson Implied as the 300k Offer Culprit - Rashan Gary

Submitted by Glen Masons Hot Wife on August 21st, 2019 at 3:36 PM

I saw this mentioned, but nothing about a direct implication that it was Clemson.

If its true that they're doing this, how many guys have gotten paid?? If its true I hope they drop the hammer on these guys.  Pretty lame if they've cheated their way to this level of dominance.

Also pretty funny to read the Clemson-homer author's take on this.

If you're upset that I've reiterated a prior topic, I dont give a s**t :)

I saw an article this week that said Gary confirmed it was an SEC team.

Which is interesting because Gary's mon ruled out Ole Miss earlier for some reason.

So you are upset that Gary's mom said it wasn't Ole Miss because you want it to be Clemson?

Because now they are saying they were offered money and it was an SEC team.

Why is everyone so pissed that it isn't Clemson?  I guess I don't care but I dont get the heat on the source.  It says exactly what they are now admitting.  Is it the fact that it verifies her comments that makes you mad?

their rise to elite status out of nowhere

What are you talking about? Clemson has only had two losing seasons since 2000. Eight out of Dabo's ten seasons at Clemson they've won more than 10 or more games a season (in fact he's won 11 or more games in 7/10 seasons). They were a fairly good team for 20 years and Dabo made them elite in a clearly incremental manner:

If Michigan were to win a championship this year, it would be much more "out of nowhere" than anything Clemson has done:

It is a little amusing to see this guy say "To make a claim like this, you should be able present facts and not just rely on unnamed sources" like people are out there handing out notarized receipts for booster payments

Exactly! What motivation could Gary (now in the NFL) have for saying this if it wasn't true?  Gary is out of college. It doesn't help UM. UM and Clemson have not played each other in football in ages if ever, and they don't have a lot of overlap in recruiting.

My only hope is that if Bacon/Gary were lying, it was in an effort to troll Clemson by putting the market price out there for top talent. Bryan Bresee (247 #1 2020 Clemson commit) is saying right now, "$300K?!?! I'm only getting $150K, WTF?"

This aggression against Bacon in that article will not stand.

Bacon did not insinuate that it was Clemson. Webb did. (I think I'm remembering this correctly.)

Also, this nonsense in that hot garbage "article" that Bacon suddenly drummed this up when Gary's recruitment was sooooo long ago...he's reporting this from Gary directly. On the record. It's not like he's quoting "sources."

Right.  The way I recall, Gary was waivering between the two.  MgoFaithful were nervous with rumors he was about to commit to Clemson and we would finish in 2nd place again.  Then out of nowhere, Clemson was out of the picture.  Rashan was solid UofM and there were rumors Clemson did some things that angered Rashan's mother.   After a few days/weeks passed the rumors surfaced that there was a school who offered Rasahan money, and given the timing, it wasn't hard to put 2 and 2 together.  Then Hackett came out during the LOI event and straight out said there was a school who was offering $ to Gary.  I don't know if Hackett explicitly said Clemson, but this was all known years ago.

The only new info Bacon brought to light was the exact dollar amount.  I don't recall seeing that prior to Bacon, and the amount is considerably larger than we've been told bagmen typically offer.
