CJ Stroud is apparently "injured" and will only play in an "emergency capacity" on Saturday, per Ryan Day

“Going into this game, we’ve asked C.J. to probably take these last couple of days off and rest that shoulder,” Day said Thursday on his radio show. “Kyle and Jack have done a good job, and so the plan right now is to probably, we’ll see how today goes, but probably use C.J. in somewhat of an emergency capacity on Saturday and play some of those other guys.”

So is he injured or is he "injured"?

So my takeaway from this is that Ryan Day thinks there could be an emergency situation playing against

Akron…where Stroud could be needed?
Sounds like things are still all screwed up with their defense.

I believe Michigan will be good enough to beat the best version of OSU in an epic battle this November and I expect that to be the case, but I'll take an epic beatdown of a program in turmoil if that's all they got.

Its Ohio State. They've got their deal with the devil where nothing bad ever happens. Either Stroud will come back and be incredible for the rest of the season, or one of these backups will come in and light the world on fire

Hot take: Quinn Ewers is gonna be the starting QB for OSU by the time November 27 rolls around.

Well, maybe not. But, let's just say that OSU has some really, really good options at the QB position. Options that most teams just don't have.

I know it's impossible for Michigan fans to believe, but at some point OSU's epic run of good luck is likely to regress to the mean. As regressions go, this one isn't nearly mean enough. But maybe it won't be the only regression they have this season, or maybe it'll be next season, or the one after that…nah, it'll be first one after I die.

I agree OSU has to return to Earth eventually but it's still taking too long.  They don't have a difficult opponent until Halloween weekend so it's not like this injury no matter how big or small will mean anything.

OSU is like a trust fund kid.  If he ever reaches the point where he's cut off from touching any of the money, someone from the publisher's clearing house will immediately show up on his front porch with the big check.

When OSU trips, they accidentally fall into a better situation.  That's why nobody should be surprised when their backup QB will come in and win the starting job after throwing for 700 yards and 10 touchdowns in his first game.

I wish nothing but adversity to them. They have had far too much good luck for far too long. Then when they look beatable, they wheel in home cooking with the officiating crew.
