Choose One Player to Add for the 2022 Team

I am interested to hear from you all that if you could pick one player in the Harbaugh era that you would add to the current 2022 roster, who would it be? What one player could greatly change this team and address any current weaknesses.

My thoughts would be that if we had Devin Bush for this year, it would have a major impact on the current team.

How about you?

The most obvious answer would be Hutch, but d-line as a whole looks solid.

I think the OP is correct.  The position of greatest weakness appears to be LB, so it would be Bush for me…however, given OSU’s style of play, it could also be Peppers at hybrid LB.

peppers + sainristil might be the best combo to match up against OSU’s slots and defend the run game if it reaches the second level.

TLDR: Devin Bush or Peppers

Devin Bush, Aiden Hutchinson, Mo Hurst in that order!!!  If I could add all 3 and add one more, Dax Hill, if I could add two more, Willie Henry and Ambry Thomas...  I could keep going.  Peppers!!!

Offense, Nico Collins, Stueber or Mayfield at RT, if I can keep going, Haskins!!!!  If I could keep going, Cesar Ruiz and Jehu Chesson.

I thought about posting this a few weeks ago but held back. Could you build a Harbaugh Michigan team that would be a for sure national championship winner? just a starting lineup for offense and defense. Some are hard to pick.

Hutchinson and it isn't close. A pass rush destroys game plans. That's how we got to OSU's offense last year. That's how great QBs like Brady lose Super Bowls. If the pass rush gets home, everyone's job on the defense gets substantially easier. And the fact that he's also good in the run game is just a bonus. And a push rush package with Hutch and Okie on the edges and Mazi/Morris pushing the pocket would be fun. Rotate in fresh Jenkins/Graham. Deadly.

We lost bc the coaches were unprepared to deal with tempo and McCarthy picked a horrible time to have the biggest mistake of his season. You want the best QB of his tenure, bc that's the most important position in football -- but there's a good chance we have that guy right now. So the next most important player is a dominant DE. When you had one that was in the Heisman conversation, you definitely take him.

I think Hutchinson or Devin Bush seems to be of most note. Let the DT's on this team clog, and get some more end pressure. I know its been good, but we haven't played any great offenses yet. Maryland was good and gashed us pretty well.

Bush seems to be the logical one. Our DBs have been good. Lets see how they do against good msu WRs.

WRs seem like a waste to add. we have plenty of talent and... ill leave that alone.

A healthy Erick All would be a difference maker.

I do think Peppers would be an interesting dynamic on defense though as well. Adds some star power either way.

So, picking one, I go with whoever we think our best LB of this generation has been, and I think Bush is that guy.

Offense- I'm adding in either Jake Butt or Nico Collins. Nico is a big downfield target who can win 50/50s, and Jake Butt is the best TE Michigan has ever had arguably.

Defense- I'm adding Hutch or Peppers. Hutchinson is easily a game wrecker in of himself and would make us more dangerous, but Peppers can be a huge asset as a sideline to sideline "viper" linebacker, plus he could play snaps on offense or defense too. Devin Bush could also be the answer.

I think the answer has to be Bush for defense. I honestly don’t know that I would pick anyone on offense. Maybe take Peppers for offense to throw another weapon out there for us to use in a way that freaks the other team out, except actually effectively this time.

I'd have to go with Hutchinson or Bush.

Some others that I would enjoy watching on this team. Rashan Gary in this defense would be scary.  I'd also like to see DPJ with McCarthy throwing him the ball.

Hutch or Bush make the most sense. I do like the idea of Peppers because that would also mean we can use him on special teams and offense. I recall him making a huge impact on the punt return unit. Often fielding punts that others would have let go by them and helping flip the field so to speak.
