Checking in on players who transfered from Michigan
MLive used the improvement week to check in on guys who have transferred from Michigan:

Gentry and McKeon have the mentality for the BIG10. Asiasi likely does not
October 29th, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
Weird comment. I have no idea what this means.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:57 PM ^
The username checks out.
October 29th, 2018 at 1:06 PM ^
It means nothing. Just an ignorant platitude.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:38 PM ^
I'm intrigued. Please explain.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:50 PM ^
Didn't you know that, in the Big Ten, you're not allowed to have family issues come between you and your football?
October 29th, 2018 at 1:01 PM ^
That is not what Brady Hoke said about gibbons.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:50 AM ^
Agree on Asiasi, who is not in a TE friendly system now.
but Walker is just another doomed 5-star RB recruit through Ann Arbor.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:23 AM ^
The one I'm really starting to miss is Tice.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Oh stop
October 29th, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
I hope that transfer doesn't come to bite us in the ass.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Curious whatever happened to Kekoa Crawford
October 29th, 2018 at 11:29 AM ^
He could never develop dependable catching skills. What's the point of a #1 receiver who can't hold on to the ball?
October 29th, 2018 at 11:34 AM ^
Dylan Crawford could catch. Kekoa? Not so much.
Should have kept the old name.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
He did have that one catch against Penn State. How O'Korn and Crawford teamed up for that is one of the great mysteries of our time.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:31 AM ^
I think a team of Michigan transfers would beat Rutgers. OL and DL could be an issue though.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:31 AM ^
I thought Walker was going to be awesome at Michigan.
But he clearly wasn't ready.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
Its too bad. He probably would have seen the field quite a bit this year with Evans being injured for a large portion of the season.
He looked pretty solid in his opportunities last year. Would have liked to have seen him behind the line Michigan has this year.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
I don't know much about his background but I got the impression that he was just one of those guys that wasn't ready for a school like Michigan.
I hope he does well (football and otherwise).
October 29th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
Yeah, that part of things probably meant there wasn't really a choice but to move on...
October 29th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
"would have seen the field quite a bit this year"
Not TRUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuu
October 29th, 2018 at 12:43 PM ^
I hate to bad on a young man who is clearly having a rough go of it, but I disagree that Walker "looked solid" last year. Higdon averaged 6.1 ypc. Issac averaged 6.2 ypc. Evans averaged 5.2 ypc.
Walker averaged 3.4 ypc. He gained 75 yards all season.
I realize this was in limited carries, so one 50 yard run would have busted him up to 6 ypc. But the reality is, he obviously never earned the playing time over those other 3 guys, and in the limited time he was on the field, he never did anything more than appear mediocre.
He's currently struggling for relevancy on a Juco team. Clearly this is a guy who, for whatever reason, just isn't living up to the hype that came along with him out of high school. I feel bad for him. Hopefully he gets a second shot somewhere meaningful, but that seems unlikely now.

Also don’t forget he was an OSU commit at one point. He committed right after OSU won the NC and was the #1 RB in that recruiting class at that time.
I remember getting him from OSU was a real coup, but I was obviously wrong.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:32 AM ^
These numbers are pretty sad. It doesn't look like Walker will see an FBS field again.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:33 AM ^
Drake Harris’ arms are way too skinny.
October 29th, 2018 at 1:07 PM ^
Of all the guys on that list, I felt bad for Drake Harris because he could have chosen the basketball route instead. Then I remember he was signed to go to MSU and he would have been criminally mis-used in that scenario. Poor Damn Drake Harris.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
That's a pretty good team right there.

Players that transferred from Michigan update?
October 29th, 2018 at 11:47 AM ^
Reminds me: Just re-watched all five of John Cazale's films past two weeks. Great actor, perfect resume. Sad that he died when he did.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:01 PM ^
Deerhunter is my favorite.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:40 PM ^
Dog Day Afternoon for me
October 29th, 2018 at 11:55 AM ^
Every time I go fishing, I think of his scene...
October 29th, 2018 at 11:53 AM ^
I miss the NFL updates for former Michigan players.
October 29th, 2018 at 11:57 AM ^
Keith Washington is having a good year at WVU, too. 2 INT's including a pick six isn't bad...
October 29th, 2018 at 12:46 PM ^
A couple of weeks ago Jourdan Lewis got his first ever, college or pro, offensive ball carry. I believe it was a jet sweep for seven yards against Washington.
Edit: Post was supposed to be for the NFL update question above.
October 29th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
I get why he transferred but having a reliable 2nd option in the kicking game like Ryan Tice would be nice right now.
October 29th, 2018 at 1:40 PM ^
Keith Washington is playing well
October 29th, 2018 at 1:48 PM ^
Cole was on pace for all-conference type numbers before his injury.
I think he was our biggest transfer loss over the last 3 seasons. He very well could have been that extra talent in the secondary that got us over the hump (not so much as what was needed from the QB position but our D would have been insane).
I’m a big proponent of weed but wow did it hurt us in both bball (McGary) and football (Cole).
October 29th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
Yeah, they should probably just stop testing for weed. Like how MSU doesn't test for roids.
October 29th, 2018 at 4:03 PM ^
I had nearly forgotten about Ian Bunting honestly until I was watching Washington-Cal on Saturday and they mentioned "The former Michigan tight end" and I had to zoom in and...sure enough...there he was.

Thanks for this. Blake Countess played alot yesterday for the Rams. I always wonder why he is not on the M NFL alumni lists. It's my understanding he obtained his M degree before transferring to Auburn. It would seem he should be on the list before others who left the program early or were kicked off the team who appear on the official Mgoblue site. What a joke to claim Jamaal Crawford as one of our own but not Countess who I thought was, and is proving he's pretty damn good.
