Charles Woodson Posbang

Submitted by 615Wolverine on
I hope everyone is enjoying their lovely Christmas Eve. 62 degrees here today in Nashville, TN. I hope Charles Woodson goes off with another one of his many interceptions as he is playing his final home game vs the Chargers. Since the board is a little slow, let's post our favorite Charles Woodson moments, GIFS, etc. He is the definition of a Michigan man, GoBlue. Happy holidays everyone.

So in response I pretty much upvoted everyone above. Mr Woodson was kind enough to sign a large copy of the Rose Bowl interception photo and personalize it to me. It hangs in my office today and it never fails to generate both conversation and admiration for the feat--even from non-football fans.

On defense I totally agree. As a freshman, Charles shut down a junior All American and picked off 2 passes in The Game. Peppers just doesn't seem to have that natural cover ability like Woodson. However, to Peppers credit, I think he may be a bit more explosive on offense. If Jabrill plays more often on offense next year and he improves his cover skills he's going to be in NY at the end of the year.

Can't embed the photo but scroll to the CW photo and I'm the dude behind him in the (old school) maize shirt on the field at the Rose Bowl after winning the NC. Pic just released this week and it kind of made my week, especially with the retirement looming. Pretty amazing memory.

He's my favorite player of all time. He's the reason I'm a Michigan fan. His return against OSU is the first real memory of football and it made me a lifelong fan of him and Michigan much to the disappointment of my ND family. Will miss watching him play

Please just give him a clean look at a pick. The talk before the game was that he was going to be on offense some and/or returning punts. Give him a shot at WR close to the goal line, I bet he's still got a few moves left.

Very cold crappy weather here in the Northwest.  Keep up the updates for those of us without NFL Network.

...ran a punt back on OSU, and win the Heisman, I thought to myself... Once in my lifetime... Then Woodson does it with even more at stake....the Champion of Champions... I've never heard the crowd at Michigan Stadium roar with such happiness. The joy will remain forever....

For whatever reason during the 97 MSU sky snatch I focused entirely on Woodson from the snap.  It remains the single greatest emotion shift I have ever felt watching sports.  The mundane was step-transformed to the unbelievable.

Did great things at Michigan and was a huge reason the Packers won a Super Bowl. He also seems like a really classy guy. 1st ballot HoFer without any doubt.

I was at the 1997 game at Staee and saw Woodson make that amazing INT. No need to ever go back to that shithole.

did you get your tickets through the UofM ticket office?  we probably sat close to one another.

For me the highlight was our 'go - blue' cheer with us in the upper deck saying 'go' and the alumni in the lower level saying 'blue'.  We owned that stadium that day.

That said, the punt return in the OSU game is THE defining moment of sports while I was in school.

I'm pretty confident that Sir Charles could actually be a decent secondary coach from the get-go.

For one, he's likely had somewhat of a role as a "player-coach" for quite a while now in the NFL. And having been in the game for such a long time, he probably knows all the ins and outs of the DB position.

Sure, it might be a stretch to hope that he ends up coaching in AA. But Charles really does love Michigan a lot. Plus, during the presser to announce his retirement, he said he doesn't know what he'll do next, but that there are "a lot of possibilities."
