I still feel broken inside from last year. I'm trying to get pumped for the game, and by the time Saturday rolls around I'll be there, but right now I'm not confident at all. Neg me to show me the error of my ways if you must.

I'm not buying into that. The CFB playoff committee still has moving targets. I still don't understand what the exact criteria are for selection. I can see OSU losing Saturday and being ranked 5th/6th and falling short. Or OSU gets Wisky in a rematch in which a 2nd win would impress absolutely no one (unless its 59-0.....). Who knows.....

I still believe the only way OSU gets into the playoff is beating UM.

The only must win for OSU now is the B1G CG.  There is no chance for a resume killing loss like Purdue was last year.  The committee would be comparing a 1 loss B1G champ to (probably) a 1 loss SEC team w/o a championship.  Doesn't matter who that team is, they aren't getting in over OSU.  We would, of course, happily provide you guys with a wake up call loss!

I know we're not going to the playoff and all but I expected us to move up at least to 12 and possibly as far as 10. We  handily beat a 7-2 team on the road. Oklahoma barely beat a .500 team at home and moved up 2 spots. Baylor beat a 4 loss Texas team at home and jumped up 5 spots.

We beat an Indiana team that hasn't beaten anyone and lost against any quality opponent they faced this season.   If you can't beat good teams, then you are not a good team, regardless of your record.  Indiana is not a good team, they just beat up on the weakest teams in the Big Ten...

Notre Dame or Iowa had absolutely nothing to do with my comment, nor the comment I was responding to.

The comment was "we beat a 7-2 team, why didn't we move up more".  Well, that's because that 7-2 Team is smoke in mirrors and hasn't beaten anyone of note.  The fact is Indiana really isn't that good of a team.

Chill out and try to read the comments and what people are responding too before interjecting commentary that has NOTHING TO DO with the previous comments.

Maybe you should take a peek at Baylor's body of work.  Quite unimpressive and add that pathetic OOC schedule of SF Austin, UTSA and Rice.  As the poster noted above, they beat a mediocre Texas team at home by 14 and moved up 5 spots.  We beat a fringe top 25 team by 25 on the road and didn't move.

It's not that big a deal that we didn't move, but moving Baylor up 5 spots is bullshit.  Way to reward a team with one of the worst, if not worst OOC schedules in the P5.  That's real good for college football going forward.

Michigan convincingly beat a 7-3 team at their stadium and got zero credit for it.  Maybe suggesting that they'd just from 13 to 10 is asking a lot, but they didn't move at all.  Alabama hasn't played anyone all season either and lost to the one good team on their schedule and they're holding steady at the 5 spot.  I get your point, but it's frustrating to see that logic unevenly applied to the rankings.

Despite the attempt to create steady, measurable criteria for the CFP committee... it’s still HIGHLY subjective. It all comes down to how that group of people “feel” about a team.

Hence, the SEC bias with 3 teams in the top 5. Bama is Tuathless and Georgia just simply looks like garbagio (fancy version of garbage). Neither of those teams have played solid opposition with the exception of Georgia playing ND and FL. But, since the committee continues to suckle the teet of the SEC, they maintain that FL is a top 10 team. It’s one big circle jerk that keeps Michigan stagnant in the rankings.

Did you watch the game? Outside of the 3 fumbles, the game was one sided. Should have been 21-0 at half and 28-0 after first drive in 3rd quarter but had fumble at half yard line. Penn St had 3 drives all game more than 18 yards. They also had 3 drives of negative 7 yards or more. Penn st had 66 yards in the first half.  Basically gifted 17 points to penn st either by not scoring or letting them get easy points and still won by 11 with the ball at 30 yard line to end the game.

I'd like to interject that OSU pantswaisting themselves into a close game that shouldn't have been close is a good sign for us.  First chance to play an extremely significant game under Day and they made life hard on themselves.

Who knows? Maybe they'll continue to expand on this newfound capability this Saturday.

Bo, Ufer, Canham, and all the late Michigan Football greats will be looking down from Football's Valhalla on Saturday keeping watch on Jim and his Michigan Men. It is time. I'm so excited to be going. Go Blue Go!

It’s hard to move up the higher you get. Only two teams in front of us lost and one was on the road to the #1 team who has a head to head win over us. If we beat osu we will jump both, I don’t really have a problem with making head to head a tiebreaker among similar resumes. The games need to mean something
