Let me settle one thing for good. I spent more than a few of my formative years on the outskirts of Ft. Sill and Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. We often played with Horny Toads. They were never elevated to 'Horned Frogs'. Go play with some toads boys! Win and advance.

I love my football coach.

I don't like Ohio being there but, honestly, who else could they have put in the four slot? Alabama's best win was against a Texas team that lost its starting QB halfway through the game and had been carving them up prior to that. Tennessee or USC or Clemson? Uh uh.
Freaking OSU gets all the breaks, including mucking around in a year where there have been only two dominant football teams and every other team has weaknesses all over the place. Even Reece Davis noted that the committee keeps carrying OSU's water year after year.

I think Saban was lobbying for the TCU slot. Arguably had that been a consideration it should rightfully have gone to PSU.

Reece has never been a Ohio State fan . Hopefully we will have our top two backs and JSN playing in this game .

Harbaugh interview with the CFP crew on ESPN was great. Every time I see Jesse Palmer now I think baking shows lol.

Palmer hosts the Bachelor!

The wife walks by the TV asks, is that a bachelor rerun?
December 4th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
He does that too?! He does the Holiday Baking Championship on Food Network too (and does a great job).

Thus have we seen the beginning of the end of conference championship games? For the P5 conferences there is little upside except bragging rights. However, it must be maddening to USC that but for the conference championship game they would be playing in the CFP.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:23 PM ^
Your point stands but no. Conference champion$$$hips are not going away.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
With a 12-team playoff coming up, that implies a possible four more games. Depending on how the playoff money is shared -- you're absolutely right about its role in all this -- the conferences may find it beneficial to drop the championship game. Conferences like the SEC and the Big Ten will likely get their two best teams into the playoffs anyway (conference champ plus another for the six non-champ slots, and maybe even a third team), so maybe they consider dropping the championship game.
They're mostly meaningless anyway, apart from the money at the moment. So again, depending on how the 12-team playoff money is shared, it may tip the scale to dropping them.

I refuse to listen to Ryan Day. Auto channel turn, let me know when he's done flapping the gums.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
2022 oHIO state has nearly the worst resume of any college football team to ever make the playoff, maybe the 2020 ND team was worse. They’re best data point is that Michigan is so good that lose shouldn’t be considered bad. F them.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Eh, don't know if I buy that.
If you take away their best win...you have to take away Michigan's 2nd best win.
Then if OSU is trash, you've devalued Michigan's best win.
December 4th, 2022 at 8:58 PM ^
I hear you I’m just saying that game wasn’t close imo, and they didn’t get into a conference championship game let alone win one. They have a weak case just so happens no one else has a better case.
December 4th, 2022 at 1:00 PM ^
Does Ryan Day use Kiwi black to get the gray out?

Fowler just tore up Saban's argument for putting Bama in the playoffs. Bama was favored over Tennessee, OSU was favored over Michigan.
Vegas should have no role in determining the matchups. That's why we play the games.
December 4th, 2022 at 2:23 PM ^
It’s weird to me that a guy who’s already won 7 national championships felt he needed to reduce himself to begging and pleading for his team to get in when it clearly wasn’t a dominant team.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:22 PM ^
Bama would win by 2 scores against TCU and 3-4 teams not in the playoffs would do the same.
TCU is the sacrificial lamb.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:27 PM ^
No way should Bama have gotten in, but I respected he was trying to make the case.
I feel like it's just having your player's backs to put your best argument out there.
December 4th, 2022 at 9:01 PM ^
In all honesty in think day handled his pitch better by saying he believed his team would make some noise and they would appreciate the opportunity to do so. Bringing up Vegas lines and who would be favored in a matchup felt a little forced

Can't wait to see OSU get absolutely spanked by Georgia.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:25 PM ^
If we can beat TCU revenge match either way.
Georgia to avenge the loss last year, or OSU, because we need to beat them for 20 consecutive years for it to not be a revenge game.
December 4th, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
IMO, -9.5 is a lot for us. It's going to be no easy task to beat TCU, they've beaten a lot of good teams. This isn't this a plucky G5 team.
Obviously I hope we win and beat the spread, but no slow starts against TCU please.
December 4th, 2022 at 4:44 PM ^
First comment I read from a TCU fan:
TCU has faced Michigan. In the form of Texas, Baylor and K State.
lol
