As expected.

Michigan will play TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

Let me settle one thing for good. I spent more than a few of my formative years on the outskirts of Ft. Sill and Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. We often played with Horny Toads. They were never elevated to 'Horned Frogs'. Go play with some toads boys! Win and advance.

I don't like Ohio being there but, honestly, who else could they have put in the four slot? Alabama's best win was against a Texas team that lost its starting QB halfway through the game and had been carving them up prior to that. Tennessee or USC or Clemson? Uh uh.

Freaking OSU gets all the breaks, including mucking around in a year where there have been only two dominant football teams and every other team has weaknesses all over the place. Even Reece Davis noted that the committee keeps carrying OSU's water year after year.

Thus have we seen the beginning of the end of conference championship games?  For the P5 conferences there is little upside except bragging rights.  However, it must be maddening to USC that but for the conference championship game they would be playing in the CFP.

With a 12-team playoff coming up, that implies a possible four more games.  Depending on how the playoff money is shared -- you're absolutely right about its role in all this -- the conferences may find it beneficial to drop the championship game.  Conferences like the SEC and the Big Ten will likely get their two best teams into the playoffs anyway (conference champ plus another for the six non-champ slots, and maybe even a third team), so maybe they consider dropping the championship game.

They're mostly meaningless anyway, apart from the money at the moment.  So again, depending on how the 12-team playoff money is shared, it may tip the scale to dropping them.

Fowler just tore up Saban's argument for putting Bama in the playoffs. Bama was favored over Tennessee, OSU was favored over Michigan.

Vegas should have no role in determining the matchups. That's why we play the games.

If we can beat TCU revenge match either way.

Georgia to avenge the loss last year, or OSU, because we need to beat them for 20 consecutive years for it to not be a revenge game.

IMO, -9.5 is a lot for us. It's going to be no easy task to beat TCU, they've beaten a lot of good teams. This isn't this a plucky G5 team.

Obviously I hope we win and beat the spread, but no slow starts against TCU please.
