Here we go. Let’s punch our ticket to Indy for the second time to meet Alabama!

McCarthy, Edwards, Anthony . . . why the hell couldn't these guys been used much earlier when it was clear that the other options were not working.

Oh, well.  The future is bright on offense.

I believe JJ starts next year but I think Cade could stick around and play 4 games and then possibly redshirt to be able to grad transfer and have a full season somewhere else. But he might stick around in case JJ gets hurt with the lack of depth and knowing he could come right back in and play.

Sounds like Ojabo is headed for the draft. I was hoping he’d be back next year like Hutch, but the sideline is saying he is hugging guys like he plans to leave.

I'm a little annoyed that we were still trying to run the ball to start the second half, you had a month to prep for this game, I get that the run game is your identity, and you thought you could scheme to make it work against Georgia, I did too, but it wasn't working, and continuing to run was not a recipe to win when you're down multiple touchdowns.

There should have been more of a break glass in case of emergency plan, because it almost felt like in the 2nd half they were playing to make it respectable rather than to win.

This loss was on the offense. My prediction was M 38 vs UGA 34. If we could have matched them TD to TD this would have been a barn burner game. But I also predicted if UGA D was able to stop Michigan it would be a blow out!

Well Michigan's defense didn't look that hot either - the first half, Georgia scored on every possession except for the one just before halftime with under 2 minutes left.

Both sides of the ball were not at Georgia's level. Simple as that.

Really impressed with what Bennett was able to do...didn't see the issues that some Georgia folks were talking about.

B1G Championship and CFB appearance is a dream season after last year.

Just wish the game was a bit closer as it shows how far Michigan has to go to actually be competitive with the elite teams

Cade did exactly what was asked of him this season and did it damn well. But you definitely saw that he can only get you so far. JJ has the tools that can take you to that next level for sure.  I don't believe he should have taken over this year the way Cade lead and played, but I think they shoulda made the switch mid 2nd quarter, or at the half. It was obvious what they were doing wasn't going to work. JJ need to learn to not take a big hit, and put some touch on the ball at times this off season. I get the feeling that next year can be just as special as this year if the mentality/culture of this team carries over.   Even though tonight was disappointing, hell of a season boys.

I still think we can play with them.  We were on top of the world and they were a wounded dog with loads of talent.  Cade never saw that pressure all year.  Maybe not give OL awards and jackets before they finish the season and they would play with more heart.  It's human nature...

Happy New Year blue fans!  Amazing season!

Welp.

I like our players and our coaches and am grateful we have them, but sometimes you just have a bad, bad day.

Coaching:  The stuff they scouted, schemed up, and picked to do -- on both defense and offense -- was a total dud from the start to well into the game.  Effective adjustments not done until 2nd half.  No one on Brock Bowers a few times, including near the end zone in early score.  Bad matchup on Cook when he lined up as a receiver.  No stack of quick pass plays to the slot -- you know, just in case the QB gets hurried a lot.  No schemes for getting our two NFL edge guys to the QB.  Going for it on 4th down early in game when risk of bad consequences was very high.

Player execution:  Lots of passes not hauled in that hit receiver in the hands.  Some critical bad routes.  Blown protections.  Fumbles.  Missed open bomb here and there.  Missed open guy in middle here and there.

Horrible luck:  Egregious pass interference not called, and results in fluky interception, and at critical time.  Blown receiver route into end zone results in interception instead of just incompletion.

If coaches had picked better starting plans or adjusted sooner, if players executed like they did in the OSU or Iowa game, and if we didn't have some horrible luck -- Georgia might still have won -- but it would have been a much closer game.

I'm hoping all the players are like Corum:  "I promise you, we'll be back" he said.  That is admirable strength under adversity.  This team does have the ability to do well.  On to next year.
