Love me some garbage time action!!!
December 31st, 2021 at 10:52 PM ^
WTF. Why is Michigan playing with no one back. Almost gave up a TD on that run.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
Uh, do you see the score?
December 31st, 2021 at 10:56 PM ^
No reason to play D as though it were 4th and 1 in the tight game.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
The final exclamation point on why you can’t beat teams like this with man ball !
December 31st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
Great year either way. Let this be the floor.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
McCarthy, Edwards, Anthony . . . why the hell couldn't these guys been used much earlier when it was clear that the other options were not working.
Oh, well. The future is bright on offense.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
Yeah, I’m not sure who was like, “damn, Baldwin needs some run.”
December 31st, 2021 at 10:53 PM ^
We need to develop JJ if we ever want to compete with the elite teams.
January 1st, 2022 at 12:07 AM ^
Not only JJ at QB but up and down the roster. When you watch M Football....look for the players that can play with the elite teams. It's not a knock on players that can't....just want to compete with the elite.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
I believe JJ starts next year but I think Cade could stick around and play 4 games and then possibly redshirt to be able to grad transfer and have a full season somewhere else. But he might stick around in case JJ gets hurt with the lack of depth and knowing he could come right back in and play.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:58 PM ^
I like JJ better, especially as youth will no longer be a reason to keep him on the bench.
But Harbaugh really does like McNamara a lot, so JJ would have really outplay him by a lot in Spring and August to win the job
December 31st, 2021 at 10:59 PM ^
That would be pretty selfless, but I hope you're right!
December 31st, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
Freshman on offense look good so that’s a plus
December 31st, 2021 at 10:56 PM ^
It's amazing how much better 34 - 11 looks than 34 - 3.
Still an ass kicking, but a better looking one.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:57 PM ^
Go Utah!
December 31st, 2021 at 10:58 PM ^
Proud of this team. I’ll take a dub over OSU and a BIG chip any day.
JJ will take this team to Pasadena along with Anthony, Edwards etc.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:59 PM ^
Sounds like Ojabo is headed for the draft. I was hoping he’d be back next year like Hutch, but the sideline is saying he is hugging guys like he plans to leave.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
The visa rules here really hurt us. He can't get NIL money because he's on a student visa. :(
December 31st, 2021 at 11:02 PM ^
Go to NFL! Get Paid! Why not, nothing in life is guaranteed and he's a great kid.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:02 PM ^
I don't blame him. I don't think he has the same performance without Hutch on the other side.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:00 PM ^
Won the half!
December 31st, 2021 at 11:00 PM ^
Happy new year’s folks. Been a fun season.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
I'm a little annoyed that we were still trying to run the ball to start the second half, you had a month to prep for this game, I get that the run game is your identity, and you thought you could scheme to make it work against Georgia, I did too, but it wasn't working, and continuing to run was not a recipe to win when you're down multiple touchdowns.
There should have been more of a break glass in case of emergency plan, because it almost felt like in the 2nd half they were playing to make it respectable rather than to win.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
Won the 2nd half 8-7. They won the first half by an undescribed amount. 1-1.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:03 PM ^
Our best players tonite were freshmen. Great season with a bright future
December 31st, 2021 at 11:03 PM ^
B1G champs, win over OSU and a 12 win season. Bitter ending but tomorrow starts a new year.

Enjoy it now Dawgs, Alabama owns you.

This loss was on the offense. My prediction was M 38 vs UGA 34. If we could have matched them TD to TD this would have been a barn burner game. But I also predicted if UGA D was able to stop Michigan it would be a blow out!
December 31st, 2021 at 11:18 PM ^
So, I guess you were right. Making 2, predictions paid off! JK…Happy New Year!
December 31st, 2021 at 11:15 PM ^
Well Michigan's defense didn't look that hot either - the first half, Georgia scored on every possession except for the one just before halftime with under 2 minutes left.
Both sides of the ball were not at Georgia's level. Simple as that.
Really impressed with what Bennett was able to do...didn't see the issues that some Georgia folks were talking about.
B1G Championship and CFB appearance is a dream season after last year.
Just wish the game was a bit closer as it shows how far Michigan has to go to actually be competitive with the elite teams
December 31st, 2021 at 11:20 PM ^
Cade did exactly what was asked of him this season and did it damn well. But you definitely saw that he can only get you so far. JJ has the tools that can take you to that next level for sure. I don't believe he should have taken over this year the way Cade lead and played, but I think they shoulda made the switch mid 2nd quarter, or at the half. It was obvious what they were doing wasn't going to work. JJ need to learn to not take a big hit, and put some touch on the ball at times this off season. I get the feeling that next year can be just as special as this year if the mentality/culture of this team carries over. Even though tonight was disappointing, hell of a season boys.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:25 PM ^
Too bad it’s not like tennis. We’d be in the third deciding set!
December 31st, 2021 at 11:28 PM ^
I still think we can play with them. We were on top of the world and they were a wounded dog with loads of talent. Cade never saw that pressure all year. Maybe not give OL awards and jackets before they finish the season and they would play with more heart. It's human nature...
Happy New Year blue fans! Amazing season!

Welp.
I like our players and our coaches and am grateful we have them, but sometimes you just have a bad, bad day.
Coaching: The stuff they scouted, schemed up, and picked to do -- on both defense and offense -- was a total dud from the start to well into the game. Effective adjustments not done until 2nd half. No one on Brock Bowers a few times, including near the end zone in early score. Bad matchup on Cook when he lined up as a receiver. No stack of quick pass plays to the slot -- you know, just in case the QB gets hurried a lot. No schemes for getting our two NFL edge guys to the QB. Going for it on 4th down early in game when risk of bad consequences was very high.
Player execution: Lots of passes not hauled in that hit receiver in the hands. Some critical bad routes. Blown protections. Fumbles. Missed open bomb here and there. Missed open guy in middle here and there.
Horrible luck: Egregious pass interference not called, and results in fluky interception, and at critical time. Blown receiver route into end zone results in interception instead of just incompletion.
If coaches had picked better starting plans or adjusted sooner, if players executed like they did in the OSU or Iowa game, and if we didn't have some horrible luck -- Georgia might still have won -- but it would have been a much closer game.
I'm hoping all the players are like Corum: "I promise you, we'll be back" he said. That is admirable strength under adversity. This team does have the ability to do well. On to next year.

Actually, if the 1st half were like the 2nd half, thing would have been good. :)
January 1st, 2022 at 4:59 PM ^
Look on the bright side, there is always next year. Seems like Jimmie doesn't do well in bowl games.
