Looks like a bye week for me as well. Nothing listed really floats my boat.
I do have last year’s OSU game on the DVR…
October 23rd, 2023 at 8:56 AM ^
I have plans all day so not going to be watching other than maybe glancing at my phone to see if Georgia and OSU struggle on moderatly hard road games.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:04 AM ^
Will probably do my usual routine of flipping around trying to find a game that is competitive. Interested to see how penn state responds to a big loss. Will watch osu game to see if Wisconsin can put up a fight. Will watch sparty and Minnesota for a laugh.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:12 AM ^
I’ll try to catch some utah and Oregon, as well as OSU and Wisco, but most likely will be hanging out with the family and probably watch whatever night game is on in the neighbors garage on Saturday night.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:13 AM ^
- Michigan State (NR) at Minnesota (NR) – 3:30 pm
It's an away game for Sparty so this guy will probably not give anybody the double bird.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:25 AM ^
Such a classy moment. I'm not sure if he was sharing this signal to fellow Spartans or some Wolverines that may have been nearby.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:49 AM ^
Wondering is this is the same one directed at Seth and covered in the podcast..?
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:43 PM ^
Both!
October 23rd, 2023 at 10:02 AM ^
If only we understood signals well enough to understand his meaning.
October 23rd, 2023 at 10:18 AM ^
Great question - and, it makes me wonder if this is one of the signs that was supposedly "stolen". It does appear to be 1) captured via electronic device, and 2) took place at an opponent's stadium.
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:44 PM ^
The investigation is ongoing.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:13 AM ^
I know that Wisconsin lost their starting QB a week or 2 ago. Is Mordecai the backup who is also out, or was Mordecai the starter they lost?
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:23 AM ^
Mordecai was the starter that Wisconsin lost last week when they played Iowa. Braedyn Locke was #2 on the Badgers depth chart (at QB) - and, started this past Saturday against Illinois - and, rallied for the win.
As a point of reference - Locke was 21 of 41 passing for 240 yards and no INTs against Illinois - which was played in Champaign.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:51 AM ^
Locke looked serviceable.
UW needs to catch a few breaks and get the home crowd cooking.
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:11 PM ^
With how they looked against Illinois…I don’t have much faith Wisconsin can pull the upset.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:23 AM ^
Tanner Mordecai is the starter. Braedyn Locke is the backup.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:14 AM ^
Definitely a weekend to make points by hosting the in-laws and not watching football!!
OU vs KU in Lawrence could be fun if Jalon Daniels’ back is better. Plus it’s a Saturday to root against JJ’s NYC competition, like Dillon Gabriel, as well as to watch my wife’s alma mater knock off an undefeated team. Rock Chalk!!
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:40 AM ^
All I know is Michigan won't lose. We will destroy Brigham Young Extension.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:16 AM ^

Proud husband moment.......The Wife and I have a goal to hit the best hike in every state (according to a website I found) and this Saturday is Indiana. Any of you adventurists out there, this has been an awesome experience and has provided some great one on one time and growth with our marriage. As far as the games, I will just be focusing on Nebraska, Minnesota, and Purdue's scores just in case there is a tie breaker. Go Blue!
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:52 AM ^
Which specific website/list are you using? And how many states have you hit thus far? We need a UFR and CHARTS!!

Probably skipping the noon timeslot. We'll be taking our three year old to a daytime trick or treat event at the forum near our house.
We'll definitely be catching the Georgia-Florida game. My wife is a pretty big UGA fan and while I'd normally expect them to win this game big, not having Brock Bowers makes for a potentially very interesting game. I don't have much faith that Graham Mertz is going to finally live up to his recruiting billing against the #1 team in the country when he looked downright awful against Utah, but given that Georgia has played very mediocre relative to expectations this year, and they're also down their best offensive weapon by far, I give them a puncher's chance. Georgia has let worse teams than Florida hang around this year, and its a rivalry game.
After that we'll watch the OSU-Wisconsin game. We have some friends coming over who are from Wisconsin, so I'm smoking up some brats, making some beer cheese, and heating up soft pretzels in hopes that somehow Wisconsin can make this happen. If they had Tanner Mordecai I'd be tempted to say Wisconsin would keep it close, but they're probably going to be the latest team to get scorched by MHJ.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:35 AM ^
Wife's Day. I'm out.
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:21 PM ^
Smart move.👍
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:51 AM ^
I'm really hoping for decent weather to work outdoors this weekend. The hell with indoor projects--I will have all winter for those. I won't be watching football until nightfall, and as usual the YTTV DVR will be my friend. Maybe I'll get to watch an UGA upset (but I'd rather they stay #1 until we meet in the NCG). I'm most interested in Oregon at Utah, two very well coached teams.
October 23rd, 2023 at 9:57 AM ^
I've got plans next Saturday (my wife and I both had birthdays recently, but we were both working on each other's birthdays, and we've have generally been pretty busy lately, so we're having a late birthday day together) but I'll probably keep half an eye on Georgia vs Florida, and maybe Utah vs Oregon as well.
October 23rd, 2023 at 10:31 AM ^
Man, the Big Ten is down bad. None of those five games is compelling.
Even Indiana - Penn State was an exciting competitive game a few years ago (e.g., when they had Michael Penix and Wilson seemingly had that time on the rise). Now? They're so bad that Drew Allar will probably look really good against them.
I'm still against expansion & think it stinks for the average fan, but if I'm a TV exec and I'm looking at the state of programs like Indiana, MSU, Northwestern and Purdue, then Oregon et al can't get here fast enough.
October 23rd, 2023 at 11:06 AM ^
I'm against expansion too but I'm getting really close to being pro-relegation for most of the B1G West. Woof.
October 23rd, 2023 at 11:12 AM ^
Georgia vs. Florida. Everybody here knows why. Maybe some bits of OSU at Wisky. Best game might be Oregon at Utah so might look in on that. Morning will be off doing constructive stuff.
October 23rd, 2023 at 11:14 AM ^
I’m marginally interested in Oregon v Utah just because I think it’ll be a good game, but this week’s slate is pretty much a snooze fest.
I can kinda squint and imagine Georgia has a little trouble with Florida, but maybe for a half.
I want to see how Indiana fares against PSU; not because I think they have a chance, but because if there’s any struggle at all, it’ll confirm that PSU is a fraud with a good defense and little else.
Osu in Madison would have been more interesting with Mordecai, but not by much. Badgers get rolled.
And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I almost want Sparty to win. I don’t like their fans, but watching them and their team this season has turned into a literal snuff film and I can only stomach so much of that kind of grotesque fascination. On the other hand, how ironic would it be for them to beat one of their prospective coaching “candidates” with essentially the worst team in their history?
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:07 PM ^
Minnesota, as a program, is in much better shape than MSU and they have no instate juggernaut to go against. We might as well put Nick Saban as a candidate. This is silly.
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:36 PM ^
Minnesota has played probably two of the ugliest games this year offensively against Nebraska and Iowa (though Iowa should always have an asterisk next to them).
This game could be shield your eyes ugly.
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
My rooting interest is T25/B1G chaos.
- Kansas
- Florida
- Oregon (don't care, but I know a girl from there)
- Duke
- Colorado (because of course)
Other B1G games:
- Wisconsin
- Indiana
- Northwestern
- Minnesota
- Nebraska
Slippery Rock 78-0
October 23rd, 2023 at 12:42 PM ^
Maryland, Bucknuts and Georgia. Around which I will do battle with the weeks' leaves.
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:20 PM ^
Georgia and Florida because it's a traditional rivalry and because I'm interested in how Georgia looks, in hopes that Michigan gets to play them or some team that beats them in the CFP.
Oregon and Utah because 🤷🏻♂️
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:26 PM ^
Given how much Oklahoma struggled with UCF, Kansas might surprise us.
Minnesota vs. Sparty could be some ugly ass football.
October 23rd, 2023 at 1:46 PM ^
I won't be watching any night games ( now that we have one more on our schedule). I'll want to see how well Penn Sate can bounce back form their loss to the Buckeyes and can Maryland play a good 60 min against NW in Evanston.
As for the other noon games, I'll check in on FSU at Wake and OK @ KS. I'll want to see how Purdue looks @ NE at 3:30 and check in on GA @ FL also at 3:30 plus OR at UT.
OSU @ Wisc is a night game and I might watch the first half at most.
