CC: For the Love of God, Make it Stop

We will get who we get and you will either love it, like it, or just deal with it.

On the one hand, all the CC threads are getting irritating, clogging up the board, and most are just bad candidates.  On the other hand, it gives us the opportunity to ridicule bad ideas and shit on Maizen on a far more regular basis so ......

I asked (twice) for a sticky thread.  We are like 13 year olds at a birthday party telling the same fucking joke over and over and over hoping for a laugh.

This won't stop until a HC is named

What's the point of being on a blog when there's no discussion? A sticky thread would solve everything, but I would still rather have new threads than no threads.

Could have a sticky and mods could keep "Proposed CC Candidates" and "CC Updates" as top threads and *gulp* still allow other things to be discussed on the board besides random poster X's thought they had in the shower today......"Hey what if Brad Garrett was our next head coach - i mean he's 6'9", pretty funny so good for recruiting, could be his own bag from all that Everybody Loves Raymond cash, and his voice is really deep  so great pressers!" - there's valuable information being buried here by wandering thoughts and pointless speculation, and far be it from anyone to want to discuss something other than whether or not retread candidate X would be a good fit or is under consideration.

I didn't expect it to get as bad as it was in December 2014, the CC threads, that is, which is why you haven't seen much yet. We did try catch-all threads then, but those went completely off the rails, and then we trimmed out the utterly ridiculous and unrealistic ideas, which helped. Of course, that's when you find out that your ridiculous idea is perfectly sensible to someone else, like when flared trousers caught on briefly. Anyway, moving forward, we'll figure something out.

Really, there's no reason to comment on anything. Just let it all happen. We win this game, lose that one, get this guy or that one, and tumble through the years in collective silence, just watching it all unfold and holding our tongues because words are unnecessary and what will be will be.

Or we could have a blog and share our thoughts.

Ah Metta.

We are all informed by a unique set of circumstances. About 20 years ago I was a pediatric nurse at what would later be named Peyton Manning Children's Hospital-in Indy. Many professional athletes associated with Indy teams came through to visit our kids. One day Ron came...given his rep I thought "Oh boy...yikes". You know what???...he was the best...he was terrific with the kids-they loved him. At the other end of the "likable" spectrum there was this famous QB named Manning-he was awful with the kids and it was a pain in the ass when his entitled attitude showed up.

I'll tell you what, irony is so common that I do not believe it actually exists.

How can you get angry at the internet for performing one of its originally intended functions.

Pillars of the Internet:

1. Anonymous ridicule

2. GoFundMe

3. Speculation

4. Videos of cats and videos of people injuring themselves

5. Kardashian news

I saw an episode of “My Cat from Hell” the other day. A woman requested help with her cat from Jackson Galaxy. She claimed her cat had become a YouTube sensation because of her videos of him attacking her. My response was, no, your videos are getting millions of views because your cat is jumping on your ginormous breasts.

Pretty long name for a coach. Can’t find anything on him/her. Can you please go into more detail? Thanks.

Is this your first CC on MGoBlog?  This is how these things go.  Every single time.  I'm not sure what you would really expect, but it might be a good idea for you to maybe take a short break here until this all gets sorted out.  As it stands, this post exacerbates the problem you are claiming to want fixed.

Not criticizing the OP, but this is a Michigan sports blog.  There is currently something huge going on directly relating to Michigan sports - the hiring of a head coach for one of our two major programs.  Said coach will be replacing probably our best bball coach ever, who turned our program from a dumpster fire into a perennial contender.

This is a big topic and some of us just want to discuss it.  Sure, some of the threads are a bit weak, but they are all fairly well titled, so you know what you are getting when you click.  If a thread about the possibility of Billy Donlon doesn't interest you, then you can simply not click.

You must be new here. This place goes fucking mental over replacing junior assistant in-training-to back-up, 3rd string, part-time, grad student transfer interim coaches.

Great detective work.  Looks like we're going after Northern Michigan's or Michigan Tech's head coach.  And since Northern Michigan's coach just took the Calvin College job, that means we're going the MTU route.    FWIW, Kevin Luke (MTU) is a helluva coach.  He's had some great teams in the past decade, although the last few years have been uncharacteristically mediocre.
