Assumptions...
1. Bell starts his career at QB.
2. Mullings goes to RB full-time and Michigan is no longer looking for a transfer "power back." It's keep Corum or bust.
3. I've included the two guys who are Michigan leans as *name* (English, Hill).
4. Michigan is going to experience a fair amount of attrition after the season national championship. The counter to this is that guys could do the Bowman and enter the portal now, but still remain with the team, but note that attrition could be NFL Draft as well.
5. Michigan is loading up for national championship run in '23 and could be preseason #1 with UGA losing key pieces.

Who said he's the next dominant WR? That would be Roman Wilson.

But if Anthony is #4 on the team in snaps at WR and #1 and #2 are gone...logic would tell you, he'd get at least one of the two open spots.

Has nothing to do with him being dominant and everything to do with him being the next man up. By all accounts, we're not taking a WR in the portal. CB and maybe DT if Goode and Jenkins both leave seem to be what's left. Maybe a power RB, but Mullings seems to have taken that spot.

I'm not trying to dispute your broader point, but people weren't simply excited by "one catch" in the MSU game.  They were excited that he had six catches, 155 yds., and 2 TDs--which included a 90+ yarder where he seemed to blow past MSU's DBS, a diving catch, a Braylon-like basketball TD over the defender, another similar "catch" over a defender where he barely came down out of bounds (Ronnie Bell style).  In all, he had one of the best receiving days from a UM pass-catcher in the last few years.  Given that he was a freshman playing in a rivalry game, you could see why folks were excited at the time.

But back to your point: aside from that, yes, not much.

So he forgot how to catch after his freshman year?

What about the catch he made in traffic against Iowa?

I think you all are being a little ridiculous. He didn't get nearly as many opportunities with Ronnie Bell back.

It's wild, when Cornelius Johnson kept dropping passes, everyone was screaming for Anthony. Thread after thread. Johnson has a big game against OSU and Anthony sucks. Which is it?

If anything, it'll be Anthony, Clemons and Wilson in the slot.

I love CJ and for years (like Brian) see an NFL receiver. Just needs to work on his separation in man coverage, because his route running and speed is NFL-level.

Right now he is about a 6th round pick. Without Bell and off the success of the OSU and (hopes) CFP success, he could be the bonafide #1 next year and could be a day 1 or 2 pick. He reminds me of a junior year Corey Davis at WMU.

It just seems it’s a forgone conclusion he leaves, but I think there is a lot to entice him to stay.

The fact Anthony had 1 fewer catches and 75 more yards in that one game than he's had for all of 2022 would point to that maybe being a bit of an outlier in terms of overall performance.

He'll get more playing time next year with departures but much like how Ricky White had a career outlier of a performance (at the P5 level) in this rivalry we might need to treat the Anthony game as one that didn't point to an immediate impact.

*Something* happened to Andrel this season.  I was beyond hyped to see him ball out this year after seeing the electric performance against State his Freshman season.  He seemed to have Braylon Edwards-like ball skills and ability and a connection with JJ.    This year, he was truly awful.  He looked confused and hesitant out there.   WHAT HAPPENED?    The book isn't closed on him. He has the physical skills to get it done, but is the mental side there game in and game out?   The good thing is he will have an entire new season in 2023 to make a come back.

Has there been any word on where Cypress or Grimes are leaning? There hasn't been a lot of chatter on which way those recruitments are going from what I've seen. Those two seem like pipe dreams at the moment, but I would be surprised if one of them ended up in this class with how hot we've been in the portal.
