Burgergate: More info from Chris Balas on the level 1 sins of Jim Harbaugh

You can't make this stuff up.

Chris Balas is stating in The Fort message board...

"the reason Jim got a Level One, apparently, is because two committed recruits stopped by during COVID for an impromptu visit and he took them to the Brown Jug for a Jug burger in the morning. They found a receipt, but I guess he wasn't completely honest about it."

The only correct response to the ncaa is f**k off. The U, State Penn, AL, FSU, MS ST, LSU, USC all told them that and they said - great! OK!

SMU, OSU, Boston College, ASU, etc. all cooperated and the ncaa used what the schools gave them to hang them.

ncaa is a joke and we should tell them to f**k off.

How do they know Jim wasn't just really hungry and ate 3 burgers, 3 extra large fries and drank 3 large sodas after a workout?

The actual violation is minor. But the integrity failure in misleading/lying is not.

The board has been chock-full of opinion about MSU obfuscating/misdirecting about how they are paying Tucker...

The fact that anyone needs to lie (or "mislead") about purchasing two hamburgers for some teenagers who came by coaches office to say hello really speaks volumes for where things are at with NCAA today.

I'm sure Jim had no idea he was committing a felony in the eyes of the NCAA as he was sitting down with two kids eating a $8.95 hamburger.

And spare me the comparison of Tucks $100,000,000 contract/payment details.

The ncaa should never be asking about how we fucking feed recruits, especially regarding a mediocre bar burger. If some suits skipped past hookers and bags of cash to ask me whether I bought recruits some burgers three years ago while I was preparing for a playoff game, I'd rightly tell them to go fuck themselves.

This only enhances my admiration for Harbaugh. I frequented the Jug many a time when I was a denizen of Ann Arbor myself. Was the go to watering hole, and had the Feisty Feta thing more times that I'd care to admit.

What did you have for breakfast two years ago on the 35th Tuesday? Take your time you have three seconds...ahhh...ha! This level of cooperation will lead to suspensions and no more recruiting the South.

Send all receipts for anything you touched or thought about for the last 5 years to our office on Nick's boat.

There’s a pretty important detail that’s missing..  were they hamburgers, or cheeseburgers?   And, if a cheeseburger - what kind of cheese?

if they were “cheese-less” hamburgers - at the Jug - Santa Ono and Warde Manuel should consider releasing Harbaugh immediately.  No cheese on a burger is a travesty - a complete misrepresentation of The University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor community.

Not sure if this has been mentioned… did the receipt indicate that… though steak and milk could (in fact) have been ordered - Harbaugh selected a cheeseburger and lemonade?

Oh the Humanity!

It would be great if the Jug re-tooled its menu:

Level I Burger (Hamburger)

Level II Burger (Cheeseburger)

And so on.  Plus, next to each insert the Clown emoji.

The NCAA is joke,  I was listening to sports talk show today and they were saying Gattis was the snitch.

They also talked about how Lincoln Riley has been tampering with transfers and nothing happens to him.

Jim should be been at least honest with investigators.

IIRC, there was multiple things wrong with Ohio State during “Tatgate,” but the NCAA’s primary reason for giving Tressel the “show-clause” penalty was being he “didn’t cooperate with investigators.”

The NCAA does not like being lied too, and comes down hard when they believe that is the case.
