"I'll take events the entire free world knew would occur before they happened for $500 Alex"

Seriously though good luck to him.  Seems like a guy with talent who would benefit from a change of scenery.

This is sad, if not surprising.  Peters from mid-Rutgers to mid-Wisconsin in ‘17 looked like a stable field general who perhaps could evetually develop into a great QB.

To me, everything turned on one play.  In the Outback Bowl, we blew our huge lead but were driving late.  Peters scrambles and looks to be heading for a first down, but completely turtles 1-2 yards short of the line to gain.  It was a sad moment that, fair or not, made me hope we’d never see him start again.

That said, I hope he has a great last two years elsewhere.

I think we're being harsh, it's impossible to know what the lasting effects are of the injury he had.  It might take more than a few weeks or months to restore confidence.

It's understandable. The guy didn't just get his bell rung against Wisconsin; he was knocked out cold, and a game that Michigan possessed a puncher's chance to win ended at that moment. More than a moment, actually, as he was down on the field for so long I was afraid it was something even worse.

Then he just plain got passed by better QBs. It happens.

He was awful that entire game from start to finish. It wasn't that one play.

I think the staff knew much earlier than the fanbase (as they should) Peters' limitations. There's a reason O'Korn continued to be trotted out as the season was sliding away up until the Penn State game.

BP never quite seemed like Harbaugh’s type of leader but he does have the physical skills.  It’s too bad we only got to see him play behind a line that had him running for his life.   It seemed like he lost some confidence after getting abused by Wisconsin.

I think a few Big Ten teams would love to have him as their QB.  Shit he would probably be #2 at OSU right now.

UofM has a really good QB room right now.

Kareem Walker also scored on a nice run in that game.

...and it was right then that we all thought the future of Michigan Football had arrived.

Fast forward and now we're starting Shea Patterson and Tru Wilson (at the moment) and neither Peters or Walker is on the team.

Things done changed.

Not shocked at all, quite honestly. I don't think he had much hope of seeing meaningful minutes given the QB situation as it sits right now.

Still, best of luck to him wherever he lands.

Best wishes to Brandon Peters.  It was a tough deal for him at Michigan and he handled it pretty well.  Can't think of any drama from him.  He also seems to have a plan.  I hope it works out well for him.

I don't remember the exact words but when it became clear that Shea was going to transfer to U of M there was a lot of talk that Peters was going to transfer out. His Dad said "We aren't afraid of competition." It didn't work out for him but it shows he is clearly a Michigan man.

Here's Purdue's current projected depth chart:

1) Elijah Sindelar (5th yr senior)

2) Jack Plummer (RS freshman)

Being a grad transfer is a big thing for Peters.  He's immediately eligible wherever he lands, and if it's Purdue, the opportunity to rise in the depth chart is there if he puts in the work.

Best of luck to him, I hope he does well.

He won’t end up at OSU. The worst case scenario would be a team that UM plays in the early part of the year.   He did participate in Spring ball and I’d have to assume he would be able to give the D coordinator a fair amount of inside knowledge.  After the first half of the season it won’t matter as it will all be on tape anyhow.   I think he’s for a real shot to be an impactful starter somewhere, he has sure shown flashes of it.

Agree it’s not any real concern, but the reps wouldn’t matter, knowing the playbook/philosophy would be the only downside.   It would be a very slight advantage  in preparation before it’s all on tape. Using the term “worst case” prob was a poor choice or words and it really isn’t relevant if he isn’t transferring to Wisconsin (early conf game). It’s May tho, we need things to talk about :-)

Good luck wherever you end up, Brandon - I really hope its a place with a good program and you get a legit chance to shine.

Had he not been thrown in because of of injuries and ineffectiveness in front of a crappy-ass pass blocking line, I think he would have been better received here.  He showed some promise, even taking UW to the hilt in Madison.  Unfortunately, every time he seemed to get some momentum and forward progress that we could all see, the OL got him bone-jarringly gobsmacked!  I really do hope he has better luck elsewhere, because he deserves it...

I read (Max Olsen -Twitter) that of the top 25 QB’s in the 2016 class, only 8 have not transferred.  It will be interesting to see what the 2017 class transfer rate is next year.

247 Rankings of those who did not transfer:

3. KJ Costello, STAN

5. Feleipe Franks, UF

7. Jarrett Guarantano, TEN

8. Dwayne Haskins, OSU

14. Jawon Pass, UL

19. Jake Bentley, SC

21. Dillon Sterling-Cole, ASU

25. Seth Green, MIN (now a WR)

The writing has been on the wall for this ever since McCaffery was named the backup last year. And with Milton getting snaps, it was even more-so. This is now officially McCaffery’s team after Shea graduates next season.

Thanks for all of the hard work and effort, Peters. Wasn’t meant to be, I suppose, but you’re a great talent and should have plenty of D-1 suitors.
