It needs the Dawson meme too....

The best one was the one with Ben "The Butcher of Bakersfield" Richards.

MIchigan Nation wants Brady v Henne. Football America wants Rogers v. Mahomes. There'll need to be a lot of hanging chads to win this vote.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:32 PM ^
State Farm kinda wants to see Rodgers-Mahomes as well
January 17th, 2021 at 6:15 PM ^
Not if you’re an NFL fan too.
Go Pack!
January 17th, 2021 at 7:16 PM ^
The worst possible outcome would be a Packers and Chiefs Super Bowl. The State Farm commercials would be nonstop.
January 17th, 2021 at 7:24 PM ^
Hate those commercials. Hate insurance companies as well. Stop paying millions of dollars on bullshit ads and lower my fucking rates.

Not sure about auto insurance, but at least on the Health Insurance side, the more bodies the cheaper the premiums.

An actuary! Very cool.
Let me take this opportunity to say get a new job.
January 18th, 2021 at 9:12 AM ^
Why you gotta be like that? The guy is trying to make a living like anybody else.
January 17th, 2021 at 9:47 PM ^
Because they have volumes of data confirming that when shopping for insurance, the only thing that matters to consumers is ‘awareness.’ That’s why Gieco, Liberty Mutual and Progressive spots — with no discussion of lower funnel measures (features and benefits) — run ad nauseum. It’s all about name recognition.
January 18th, 2021 at 11:06 AM ^
It's literally about rates to me. Don't care about the discount doublecheck. I just want good rates and a carrier that's not going to fuck me over when I need to use it. I've been with Citizens for home and auto for almost 10 years and I don't think I've ever seen a spot for them.
Also, I will never ever ever ever use Progressive no matter the rate because I DESPISE Flo.
January 17th, 2021 at 10:44 PM ^
When I lived in Colroado Springs, the public school districts would have commericals on TV. Why does a public school need to buy air time? Weird.
January 18th, 2021 at 1:23 PM ^
For that matter, why does Boeing advertise at Seattle Mariners games? Who goes to the ballpark and thinks, "you know what, I need to buy an airplane."
January 17th, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
Insurance companies are scams.
January 18th, 2021 at 8:59 AM ^
Right? Because most people have the cash to cover the replacement cost of their car being totaled or their house being destroyed by water, fire, wind, etc.
Every business definitely has the cash to cover the current cost of ransomware claims. It doesn't matter that most of the ransoms are near seven figures now and the business income loss on top of that can destroy a company. Every, single company has the money to cover that.
January 17th, 2021 at 11:20 PM ^
State farm sucks in settling claims too. Cheapskates. I'd want my insurance company to settle my case if I ever faced a lawsuit instead of exposing me to a judgment.
January 18th, 2021 at 9:00 AM ^
There's good reason they are always one of the leaders in bad faith suits. When it comes to claims, which is why insurance matters, State Farm is one of the worst carriers out there.
January 18th, 2021 at 10:13 AM ^
Had a building burn a year Ago and the insurer still won’t pay or deny the claim after I paid premiums faithfully. Thanks to gov Engler for eliminating good faith laws. Fuck insurance companies.
January 18th, 2021 at 12:48 PM ^
What's the issue holding it up? Fire is always a covered peril unless it's intentional arson to collect the insurance coverage. Cause and origin inspections and reports don't take anywhere near a year. If the carrier is trying to say that's the holdup, it's complete bullshit.
There's nothing in Michigan stopping you from filing a bad faith suit against your carrier if they are unjustly delaying, denying, or refusing your claim.
January 18th, 2021 at 10:41 AM ^
I'll never even consider Staee Farm for insurance while they have that douche Brett Favre Jr. representing them. I think I was born with a hatred of the Packers that runs as deep as my hatred of OSU.
January 18th, 2021 at 10:12 AM ^
Yuck. And meanwhile, if you’re a fan of the GOAT—who happens to have gone to Michigan, btw—go Bucs!
January 17th, 2021 at 6:18 PM ^
I see we need a Chad Henne snowflake thread.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:20 PM ^
How long are players with a concussion normally out? The Super Bowl is three weeks away.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:23 PM ^
Sometimes as short as a few days - did not appear very major. I expect to see Patrick out there next week.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:26 PM ^
Who knows, but NFL players who suffer a concussion are out an average of 19 days.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:26 PM ^
Thanks, doc. Get your MD from the University of Phoenix?
January 17th, 2021 at 6:34 PM ^
Why go online when you can buy one quick and easy from Guadalajara?
January 17th, 2021 at 6:31 PM ^
Normally a concussion means being out at least a week. It’s better safe than sorry with people’s brains.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:34 PM ^
?
There is a well-established protocol. The days of ‘getting your bell rung’ and staggering our for the next players over - sadly Michigan was not leading and best but failing and worst with Shane Morris against Minnesota during Hoke’s fateful last season.
January 17th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^

He looked like he had no idea what planet he was on. I’m not a doctor, but that didn’t look good

His head didn’t appear to get hit, but he looked like he thought he was jake from state farm afterward.
January 17th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
I'm not even sure who Jake from State Farm is anymore. I could swear he used to be white.

Bell ringer - ring dinger
January 17th, 2021 at 6:24 PM ^
They’re probably not getting past Buffalo without Mahomes.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:34 PM ^
I’m more interested in seeing Rodgers/Brady vs. Mahomes just to see if Romo gets so excited calling the game that he spontaneously combusts like when you ask your dog, “wanna take a RIDE in the CAR to go to the PARK and play with your new BALL and have a TREAT afterwards?!”
January 17th, 2021 at 6:42 PM ^
^^^Quite possibly the best metaphorical description ever posted to the MGoBoard!
January 17th, 2021 at 6:46 PM ^
I don't get the Romo hate. I think he calls a great game.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:57 PM ^
He does.
January 17th, 2021 at 7:34 PM ^
Romo was much more entertaining when he started announcing and was making the pre-snap reads and calling the plays before they happened.
January 17th, 2021 at 7:45 PM ^
Reminds me of other guys who retired and went into the booth. They start out analyzing from the player’s perspective (Romo in his first season or two for example) because everything is so fresh, but slowly they become typical announcers in time. Whether it’s phoning it in or just losing that connection to the game, I do not know.
January 17th, 2021 at 6:44 PM ^
Eh, obviously happy for Chad. But let's be honest they probably don't get through the Bills without Mahomes. Henne kinda had a mixed bag. Terrible INT, fantastic and gutsy scramble, and then an easy throw where the Browns gave huge cushion.
But absolutely would be fantastic to see Henne prove people wrong if he has to start next week. Both him and Hart deserved better fates at UM. I also know who I would be rooting for in a potential Henne vs Brady matchup and it would not be Tom.
January 17th, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
Sadly I have only 1 downvote to give
January 17th, 2021 at 6:46 PM ^
I used to be a huge Brady fan, but he's turned into a heel the last several seasons.
January 17th, 2021 at 10:07 PM ^
Why do the last few years make you think of him as a heel?
January 17th, 2021 at 10:54 PM ^
I would assume he is referring to who he supports politically and his nonsense trying to downplay covid saying suicides had outpaced covid deaths over a two month span. That stat was not remotely true. To be fair to Tom I guess he might have a different viewpoint now, but throwing out a bogus stat about covid makes me bet against that. If that is the stuff he is referring to I agree.
Like whatever people here worship at the alter of Tom Brady because of his alum status and his ridiculous pro accomplishments which are undeniable but that doesn't mean all of us like him nearly as much on a non football level. Quite frankly I feel like UM itself has been such a disappointment to us for so long that some are vicariously living through the accomplishments of Tom as an alum.
January 17th, 2021 at 11:26 PM ^
It's entirely possible to appreciate someone's work contributions without dragging politics into it.
