The interceptions are one thing, also don’t care for the wide open miss that should’ve been a loftier throw rather than a drive. Have we seen a successful downfield pass with some air under it yet this year?

No. JJ can't throw the deep loft over the shoulder. I don't know if I've ever seen him hit a go route right over the shoulder into the bread basket in stride. He's thrown to some really open guys like that, but never in stride. He's phenomenal at the post, crossing routes, and outs where he can laser it.  I think 2 of the interceptions and the big missed play were the type where they needed to have some loft.

The offense has been terrible all year. There's so much blame to go around. Honestly, I put this on Harbaugh for getting himself suspended and then trying to be an arrogant clever fuck and naming four interim head coaches. This team needs continuity. JJ showed his immaturity by laughing on the sidelines after throwing three interceptions. Sherrone Moore should never be a full time head coach. The offense line has regressed substantially. This doesn't look like a top 2 team. This doesn't even look like a top 10 team.

I am old enough to remember when Michigan failed to run enough PA against TCU. Tonight, though JJ was quite bad, the play calling didn't make use of PA enough. It seemed like BG knew pass formations.

On the good side, Blake looked like Blake.

JJ had one great throw. The majority of the rest were under thrown or just off. Plus he had some bad decision making.

I'm not worried, hopefully he got this out of his system.

The OLine was quite shakey on both run blocking and pass protection.

Offensive play calling was questionable.

But a win regardless.

Ha. Yeah, pretty much sums up the night. Quite the clunker offensively. BUT, it was only BG and we still won easily. Get the goofs out of their system, learn from it, move on.

Still slightly concerned about what's going on with the O-Line though. Seems like a noticeable regression through the first three games. Gonna need to figure that out sooner rather than later.

Shit happens. Move on and get better. We have done this before. Rutgers game comes to mind. We still had a great year. We still won by a bunch. JJ had a bad day. I want to see how responds next week. Taming my expectations but hoping for a great next week.

Boring, and irritating that they played without intensity or sharpness. The line needs work, and will Henderson away LT and Barny at RT be what we see against Rutgers?

I attribute the lack of crispness to the JH suspension and having different guys each week. Minter should’ve been the HC all three games—consistency over the shtick, with the offensive coaches needing to just focus on their side of the ball. Moore’s chance was hindered by his game 1 suspension, which is why I say Minter for all 3 would’ve allowed some continuity.

Loved CJ’s catch and his overall growth. Same with Wilson’s route running and speed.

Loves seeing Corum and Edwards start to rev up.

I’m glad the non-conference schedule is over. It was all especially pointless this year. It looked like McCarthy’s head was elsewhere today, but I’m sure he and everyone else will benefit from Harbaugh’s return. They better be ready to play next week. I know it’s Rutgers, but they’re 3-0, probably feeling good about themselves, and they’ll at least put up an effort.

Going to go against the grain a bit. Not going to say, it's a good thing, that would be too far. However, my interpretation is JJ was feeling himself after week one and two, and this was him pushing too hard and thinking he could get whatever he wanted. It's a good lesson to learn at a good time to learn it. Tonight's game does not erase week one and two. We all know what he's capable of now, and I'm going to choose to take tonight as an aberration rather than a preview of what he really is.

One significant difference from the first two games is that JJ was under pressure a few times in this game, and he didn't deal with it very well. To be fair, there was at least one occasion (where Edwards didn't pick up the blitzing linebacker) where he had no chance.

I noticed JJ limping a lot and one offensive huddle during a time out he didn’t go into, instead walking around seemingly trying to will away something nagging. It’s possible this affected his mechanics too and he was just throwing a little differently so as to not have that feel. Or maybe just the awareness of that caused him to rush more. I’m very curious to hear what Gardner and Borges have to say this week.

OK, bad game for JJ. Blake seems to be rounding back into form though.

Unfortunately, I could see the coaching staff backing off on the "balanced attack" after this. And our run game, outside of Blake being Blake, doesn't appear to be at 2022 levels. Best move is to try to stay balanced against Rutgers, but I don't know if it'll happen. I'm hopeful this is an aberration for 2023 JJ, and I hope the coaches feel that way too.

Thankfully, BG was a cupcake, and even the worst game of JJ's career didn't put it much in doubt.

Most worrisome thing about tonight's game: ALL 3 OF MCCARTHY'S INTs were his fault. That does not get quickly fixed. McCarthy does same thing vs Rutgers, UM loses by a TD. #GoBlue

At least Turnoverciek matched him to keep the final score outside of anything that could cause problems with ranking if business is taken care of down the road.

An uneventful 96-16 through cupcake-hambuger-time. Seems fine to me.
