I agree that Adidas went way over the top with regard to our maize the last few years but I'm not really digging this new maize. I thought Nike hit the sweet spot in terms of not too bright but electric enough for it to pop on HD television. Hopefully they correct this next year and we can go back to the maize we wore during the Carr era.

When the Nike press release came out, the graphics were all in the correct colors fwiw.

It's clear Nike wanted Michigan. Michigan is gonna do what Michigan wants and I'm sure that contract has something in there like that.

Hackett is not a moron like, oh, the previous AD.

Well it's also clear Michigan wanted Nike. Hence why they accepted the lowest bid out of the 3 apparel companies. You're kiddig yourself if you don't think Nike is going to have a big say in the uniforms for all our sports going forward. They have award winning designers whose sole job is to work on things like this. Michigan partnered with them for a reason.

That's my point.

Michigan could have went elsewhere for more and used that as leverage to gain some creative control.

I do not trust Nike. I trust Harbaugh and Hackett. They have fixed the color scheme issues and football uniforms before their first full year starts.

You have no idea what kind of creative control Michigan has or doesn't have. Nike's made the best Michigan uniforms in my lifetime. Saying you don't trust them is laughable.

If you're the AD, are you going to sign a contract in which you do not have full veto power over them with regard to design?  Do you think Hackett would do that?  I think even DB is smart enough to not sign away control. He probably just signed off on a lot of Adidas' suggestions, or perhaps they were his ideas or those of whomever he delegated that responsibility.

We're still under Adidas for this year and apparently Harbaugh was able to dictate exactly what he wanted in design and color.  Just as you would hope and assume he/AD could do. I would fully expect and hope that Nike comes in with a dozen variations on that theme and radically different shit as well.  But I assure you that Hack-baugh will make final decisions, if not outright dictate.

I assume it's all negotiable, and we have Hackett.  I don't know what's in these contracts, I am just assuming a fundamental aspect of them. Anyone out there happen to know these details? Mr. Yost?

I personally like the front bumper block M, especially with the M being removed from the pants, but it's a pretty inconsequential detail in the grand scheme. The unis look very clean though, I'm a big fan.

If Harbaugh wants them, who am I to disagree. One year is plenty, with Nike bringing style back next year.

Harbaugh is an elite football coach.

Harbaugh is not an elite fashion designer.

Still wish we had more maize because it's an actual color of ours as opposed to white, a color of rivals.

They look better in this graphic to me, but I still really hope this is only a one year deal.

Not really a fan. I'll miss the all maize pants. I hope these aren't long-term, even if they're for all this year.

That said, if we're winning games, I couldn't care less what we wear as long as it's not red or green.

would be good especially on an otherwise rather simple design.  either way i think it's pretty cool.

Keep in mind, these are only concepts of what it could look like.

I see a few things right off the bat Harbaugh would probably veto. The block M on the pants and on the collar of the jerseys. Also the weird stripes on the socks.

He wants it looking like it he did when he played based on these recent changes.

I also think that collar M clutters the jersey. Some people pissed blood and raged over the nameplate M adidas did a few years ago when it was added. It was just removed recently.

Harbaugh did not wear all white jerseys on the regular when he was a player.

Honestly, I think he's doing it as a tribute to Hackett, because one of the rare times when we did have all white uniforms was when Hackett, not Harbaugh, was a young player.

Tributes are rarely permanent in this type of way, at least that's what I hope.

We'd have that flywire shit though...

I like the M on the pants, but Harbaugh is a communist...so doubt we get that back.

The B1G logo is too close to the numbers

The socks will be all white and if we get fancy, maybe the block M will return on them...maybe.

You forgot the shoes!

Sike, they'll be all black.
