Wouldn't be a Michigan March Madness without the Fab Five being mentioned. This seems to be the first confirmation that Michigan is moving towards re-hanging the banners thus triggering many on this board.

Beilein also hints at Webber declining invites, so it might really just boil down to him getting over it, apology or no apology.

This is a such a bullshit line, and for some reason it only gets used against the Fab Five, not any other team that went that far in the tournament.

Making the national title game is hard as hell.  We've done it only seven times in school history. The Fab Five did it both years they were together.

This always seems like a touchy subject around here. All of the Fab Five members didn't take any money, only Webber did. So why is everyone so against hanging the banners when only 1/5 of that starting five did anything wrong? Not to mention, guys like Pelinka and Eric Riley, who were also part of those championship game teams. Shouldn't they be recognized for their contributions? I know that a lot of people take a holier than thou approach when dealing with "controversial" issues but come on.

As the best coach in the history of the program, I kind of feel like its Beilein's choice. He is the one who had to clean up the mess. It seems like some recognition of the Fab Five as cultural icons would be beneficial for recruiting. For the curmudgeons, just remember that 4 of the 5 were clean.
