BBall Recruiting - Quick 2020 Notes

Fresh off the live evaluation period, updates are coming quickly so wanted to drop a few nuggets here.

Today - staff dropped in on EM 5* Marjon Beauchamp; he tells me the staff wants him to visit. Michigan has been involved for a while. My most recent piece with him

Tomorrow - staff will be in for EM 5* Nimari Burnett; he took an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor back in February. Highlights I threw together of him for EYBL Session I last weekend (it was impressive)

Lots of big time recruits that Michigan is courting this cycle.  Michigan's chances of landing them seem to be better than they have been in years past.  Great news and thanks for the info.

Good stuff, as always.

Any insight as to where Michigan stands with the few guys they're still looking at for this upcoming year, ie, the grad transfer Justin Pierce, Franz Wagner and Nah'shon Hyland?  I assume those are the only 3 even being considered at this point, since the Quinones visit was cancelled.

Some high rated dudes. Liking the direction we're going. Would be really nice to get a "splash" recruit mixed in with some other 3-4 stars that will be four year guys. Would love guys like Iggy each year

A 5 star at Michigan would be used effectively and enhance his value. Not sure that can be said at many clean or otherwise programs.

More even playing field now that the schools who were heavily involved in paying kids are being paid more attention to. Coach is able to get a fair shot at the kids he wants now.

One more update - despite Rivals' report that the staff is pursuing him for 2019, Jalen Bridges confirms that we are looking at him for 2020. That may be indicative of where things are with Pierce, but I have no intel on that situation.

Nimari isn't a great shooter in a traditional sense in that he's going to be a Duncan Robinson type that shoots around 40% from distance while standing in a corner. He's a volume shooter that takes a lot of 3s off the bounce, which are much more difficult, but he's capable of making those.

Is a kid from Prolific Prep possible? It seems super sketchy academically, and very likely to produce kids who are looking for concrete support during college.
