Bama to attend SMSB camp in Michigan. SEC fans declare victory

The group who lays claim for all of Bama's success (SEC is awesome, have you seen all of our National Championships?) Is now saying Bama (Read the SEC somehow) is giving Harbaugh a taste of his own medicine.  Never mind it's SMSB which means Saban will get lost in the crowd of other A-list names.  SEC rules and will now teach Harbaugh a lesson on why he shouldn't fight for kids visibility.

I love a little competition. Just feels good that we are back to relevancy and scaring the nation all over again. Now I get to brag incessantly while these haters in the south (where I live) get all defensive.

I live in Clemson. It was an ANNOYING year to say the least.

Alabama and the SEC were always welcome..UNLIKE them we are not worried about poaching recruits as if anyone can tell anyone else where they can go..This is just the SEC trying to save face after getting destroyed in the court of public opinon. One thing you will never hear them discuss is the perception that the rest of the nation has that they are a dirty dirty corrupt conference...they avoid it all costs because they know ITS TRUE

I believe Alabama has had success recruiting in Michigan but hopefully Alabama coaches will be greeted unkindly due to their insistence that these camps are bad

It's about the kids, not the programs. If you hold them, they will come to get noticed. That's the point.  Everyone knows who Alabama and Michigan are in college football. And those schools don't take just anyone and just about anyone who wants to be recruited and seen comes to the camps. Glad Sound Mind and Body is attracting SEC interest. For Harbaugh, this isn't a strike against his program, this is a victory over the system and the benefits of inclusion.

May be the SEC beeds an interpreter to explain the meaning of the camps and what broad representation means. Not every school will participate in camps liike Harbaugh and his coaches will, going anywhere and everywhere to offer their coaching talents during the summer. This is how Harbaubgh spends his summer, teaching football. Saban and Freeze don't want to do that.

I try not to get too annoyed at the cavalcade of regional gomers who were too stupid to get into schools with open enrollment. Stick to being happy about their accomplishments. Being the first to walk upright in their family, their parents only being first cousins and not siblings and their impressive collection of houndstooth.

Seems like a ploy to get in the good graces of DPJ and other top Midwest players. My guess is when the Midwest talent isn't as good they won't show up.

Wasn't Saban blasting satellite camps a few weeks ago and questioning about how useful they really are? If you look up the definition of irony in the dictionary....

This move is not because Bama all of a sudden has a genuine interest in Michigan kids. This is so they feel they can stick their nose in Harbaugh's face, when in fact I don't think the guy could care less what they do. In fact he's probably welcoming the added competition.

I like how apparently Alabama believes that this is Harbaugh getting a taste of his own medicine, as they put it, when it is a camp that has always been open to staffs from around the country attending if they are able. The funny thing was that BY THEIR OWN DESIGN, coaches from the SEC were unable to do so, but now that they can, this is someone victory i nthe face of the utter defeat of their own position. Right, the mental gymnastics that allow this to make sense in the collective mind of that conference are impressive indeed.

I would have had to ask, "Just what kind of stupid are you?" I was under the impression, as I learned from that ex- Bama great, possibly the  fastest RB the Bear ever recruited, "Stupid is as stupid does." But hey man, thanks for the update. Bama at sound mind. Just doesn't sound right, and that reminds me of  what yet another ex-Bama great use to like to say when we were enjoying our weekly card game. Of course he was loyal to Bama, but Joe said, "It took some getting use to down there." I had the greatest coach in the game and that Bama cockpit is as good as they say. And you know how those naught little girls love their qbs. I wasn't a big fan of flying, but I think while playing down there, I was in the cockpit more than my uncle, just retired afte thirty years with American Airlines.

Now the coach was good, the pit was better, but damn those are some stupid fuckers down there. Prior to committing to the big guy I was under the impression all states built universities to allow easier  access and lower tuition to the young men and women of their respective states. Took me about two months to realize those kids weren't getting into college unless they added three rooms to the biggest high school and called it one.

For as quiet as he was when sober, Joe didn't hesitate to start talking smack when he got a few of those lound mouths in him. He liked to tell us every card game - damn the shit got old - but the first time it was kind of funny. Think that's they way they tease in the south. He'd always say, "I recall our first "Offense only meeting. Hell if it wouldn't have been for me and the TE from MI, it was more like the meeting of the minds and everyone forgot to show up."

But that pit. The Bear said it would be the best I ever had. Love that man.

Let everyone come to SMSB. Great for the student athletes! Good exposure. This is how you keep parity and competition - let everyone compete for the players LOIs.

Harbaugh is making the CFB world react to him. He's now dictating the actions of other coaches, institutions, and hell, even Collegiate Athletic Associations...That right there is what leaders do.

That, and eat last.

Hey Nick Satan!

I thought the north had no talent? South is so much better ? If that's true why are you coming; is it for the kids or to just get back at Harbaugh?

What a joke; people need to remind him of his heisman trophy winning RB.

Bring it Satan! Your only fueling the Jim Harbaugh Fire and you don't want that.

I bet this is exactly what Harbaugh wanted the whole time. Yes, some kids will have the, 'wow, Bama is here, outlook. But, this just puts Michigan in more of the spotlight and I think side by side, Harbaugh proves he's the coach you want to play for.

I can't see why anyone cares. Good, Saban should be there. I doubt Harbaugh is afraid of him, or anyone else, at a camp. It's not like it raises the Alabama visibility to football recruits.

That idiot's piece, writing as if the result of the civil war had been reversed and he was first on the scene, although I am fully aware this was, at minimum, 30-35 years prior to the south adopoting the English language as well. You take that,  coupled with the release from Saban's camp that he will be attending, a decision completely contradicttory to his initial stance that Bama had nothing to gain by stooping to the level of other schools and acting like his decision was news worthy when that camp has been open to every  coach in America since it's inception is, simply another reaction typical of  the illusion that Jim is writing the script himself. I have never seen another incidence of who may be considered "The top college coach in America," reacts in a manner far more typical of a coach who is worried someone who has returned to the ranks may, very soon, replace him as caretaker of that title soon.

I've never seen another case of where a coach has generated as much publicity, most of it good, in so little time, and when someone is not writing a flattering piece, whereas any right thinking person, conference or whatever would certainly be wise enough not to give him free P.R. in those five minutes period where he's not creating another headline. On those three actions alone, the article, Saban's complete reversal of opinion - and we know why- along with Jimmy's second round K.O. of  Emmert, a man who pretends to be an objective creator, abolisher of the bad, proponent of the good, of course all in the interest of the studen-athlete.;

Even the SEC can take only so many bad hits, but what's funny here is they are delivering a lot of self inflicted wounds. Cutting to the chase, Saban does not walk with the confidence of a man who has accomplished so much. The parents of high school kids are aware of those with the courage to go to battle without the guarantee of having the most talented team each year. They are aware of those who grow the game and those who grow their legend. This is a man who knew the questions. He answered the same for yeas. Now there are new questions, and he hasn't gotten one answer correct yet. When someone of his stature starts fucking up continuously, it's obvious he is afraid of the changes and even has greater fear of the man leading them.

Looking forward to seeing you Nick. And guess what? So is Harbaugh.

This kind of nonsense. Saban is 100-18 in 9 years at Bama with 4 National Championship. You really think he gives a shit who is the king of twitterverse? Two recruiting classes and we haven't pulled a big recruit out of their grasps yet. To say he feels threatened is completely moronic. When we flip a 5* from one of their classes or we win a D'Shawn Hand type battle then maybe we can talk. It was the same crap with the Hand recruitment--everyone going nuts not being able to wrap their heads around how he could possibly choose Bama over Michigan. Have you been paying any attention to College football for the last decade? Jesus Christ. The ignorance is incredible.
