Can we please take down these threads? Now that it's been reported that his body has been buried at sea it will turn into a "he's not dead, they lied" and the responses to that. It could become very political.

Election in the not too distant future, check. People starting to not believe in you anymore, check. I've got it. Say we killed Bin Laden and say we buried him at sea so no real proof exists. We can easily make some fake pictures and nobody will question us bc we're the government. Stupid drones.

While I don't think this thread was the right place for him to make this post, I don't think there's anything moronic about what he said.  Let's be honest - it is a little weird that we dumped the body so soon after capture, before third-parties could confirm it was him.  Yes, Islamic tradition dictates that the deceased should be buried within 24 hours, but we're not an Islamic country - we are under no obligation to observe that, especially for a horrific mass murderer - and the Geneva Convention does not require religious funerals for enemy combattants, either.  (And naturally, despite everything we did, there are now Islamic scholars bitching that we still didn't follow all aspects of Islamic burial procedure.)

I'm not that conspiratorial-minded, and I believe that it was him, but I just hope we release photographic evidence (like we did for Saddam's sons) to remove all doubt.

I can understand why some people would be a little suspicious-I'm not- but I can see the concern. But I can also understand the value of observing Islamic tradition in this case. There is no need to give any extremists any fodder. My comment was more directed at his "Hussein" crack

But we're left with two very important questions:

1) Can we continue the pairs with commits?  Wormley and Ojemudia?  (Realistic)  Or maybe go for more of the dreams with Beckham Green and Diggs?  Dunn and Marshall?  Diamond and Peat?

2) Is Pakistan actually an ally or an enemy?  They say they are an ally, but actions speak louder than words...

Pakistan is an ally, but they have an incredibly weak infrastructure and government. There are many who oppose the government, especially their association with the US. The main problem is the extreme poverty in the small villages. These militant groups target young children and turn them into ideological nutcases before they ever get the chance to have minds of their own. A lot of it has to do with producing and transporting drugs too, which is how they fund their operations.

Wormley and Ojemudia would be awesome. Wormley and Godin/P. Brown might be a little more realistic in the short term. We can always pair Ojemudia with Day or Pipkins later on to keep with the idea of commits coming in pairs. I'm also hoping for a Richardson/Morgan pairing, although I admit that getting both might be ambitious. Have to like our odds with Richardson after the Ross news though!

My question is who is the OL that we are most likely able to get to commit with Diamond. Since he (Diamond) isn't planning on announcing soon, it means we have some time to work on the other OL whoever he may be (and also keep working Diamond because I consider him priority #1 on the OL!)
