Most hockey conference

Most hockey conference tournaments play a best of 3 series at the home rink of the higher seed for the first couple of rounds anyway.  A 2 of 3 at the higher seed would not be at all out of the norm.

By myself. I can't handle By myself. I can't handle watching with other people even if they are Michigan fans. I'm a ball of nervous energy even before sure things, and every word somebody says during a game makes me angrier. If Michigan pulls away I may emerge from my cocoon mid- to late-4th quarter.

He's had injury problems the last few years.  I think he had shoulder surgery recently.  It's too bad, I was really excited about him, but he can't seem to stay healthy.

Yup. We are unwatchable Yup. We are unwatchable (went there for undergrad). I don't think we've won more than 3 games in any year since I started going there in 2003. I'm 4th generation at UM, so I've always loved Michigan athletics. Luckily, I didn't have to make a choice when I went to Cornell because Cornell is so terrible at everything (except hockey, wrestling and basketball for 3 years).

Rome must not have understood Rome must not have understood the context. Winston went to Harbaugh for advice on how to handle the draft process. He wasn't there to learn life lessons from harbaugh like "don't steal." He was there to learn how to answer those questions when they come up. Harbaugh gave him advice on how he thought it should be handled for purposes of NFL interviews. Rome is an idiot.

I was once at Yankee stadium I was once at Yankee stadium and saw a fan fall off the upper deck onto the screen behind home plate. The guy was drunk and thought it was awesome. Just delayed the game for like 20 minutes and got him arrested.

I wouldn't want him in the first round either.  Drops too many balls, was never as dominant as he should have been given his size/speed.  Maybe Gardner had something to do with it, but he definitely didn't look like a first round talent to me this year.

Coaching change...no

Coaching change...no question. I can put on a game at work and listen while I get work done (until the last 2 minutes). But I have been checking about 5 websites seemingly every 15 minutes during the CC.

Nope. First of all, who Nope. First of all, who wants a coach who doubts his own ability so much as to be scared away from a job because of the coach at another school?

Second of all, why would anybody be "afraid" of Urban? With Brady Hoke (who we all agree was not a great football coach) Michigan lost by one point after failing on a late 2 point conversion, and with this year's craptastic team was playing even with OSU for 3 quarters.

A good coach would take UM to a level where they can compete, a great coach (JH) would make UM a national force.

I don't know if he's I don't know if he's interested and I'm not sure Michigan is interested, but this is a useless quote. What's he supposed to tell a recruit on an in-home? " I'm here to recruit you to LSU, but if my alma mater calls I'll be on the first plane out?" Even if he hedged, the recruit wouldn't be comfortable with LSU. Until he is offered the job, he needs to tell everybody at LSU he's staying because if he doesn't, his recruiting class will fall apart and his players will begin to be unsure of their future coach.

Don't mean to sound like a ass to the OP, but this is a non-story.

Don't forget about the Don't forget about the Cowboys who will probably beat the Giants tonight. They've got a manageable schedule and will have a good shot at getting a spot. It's those 4 teams for 2 spots...lets go lions, Seahawks and ucccchhh Cowboys (I'm a Giants fan, but Michigan comes before the Giants)

I agree with the low football I agree with the low football IQ. On the no call PI in the third quarter (the CB clearly bumped Darboh? - sorry, I was in the 2nd to last row of the stadium) a Rutgers season ticket holder said it wasn't PI because the Ruthers corner didn't do it intentionally. The Michigan fans nearby were quite amused with such a stupid comment.

I don't like the idea of alcohol sales in the Big House.  In a stadium that big, with that many people inside, when one idiot frat boy comes into the Big House hammered and then has a few more in the stadium and gets alcohol poisoning, it could be too difficult/take too long to get him the help he would require.

Besides, as has been mentioned by others, The 3:30 hour game is probably what prevents most of the fans from being drunk when they get back in their cars to head home after the game.  Drunk drivers in Ann Arbor = Do not want.

Don Zimmer said the following

Don Zimmer said the following while crying the day after the fight with Pedro: "I'm embarrassed for what happened last night. I'm embarrassed for the Yankees, the Red Sox, the fans, the umpires and my family."

The helmet incident had nothing to do with Pedro.  He wore it in the dugout the day after he was hit with a foul ball off the bat of Chuck Knoblauch.

No way the Giants take a corner in the first round.  They signed DRC, and Walter Thurmond.  They have Prince Amukamara and re-signed Trumaine McBride.  Much more likely the Giants to OL or TE (if Ebron is there) in the first round.  If they don't like the value that is avaliable at 12 on the OL, my guess is that they finally take a linebacker or the best available defensive end.

I was going to ask the same thing.  All of Illinois's shots are at the rim...why so many layups?

Those are actually BTN's

Those are actually BTN's predictions for All-B1G Second Team and Third Team.  Not the actual lists.  They just announced 2nd team and Caris was on both the coach's and media's list.

It's a combination of a few

It's a combination of a few things.  Harvard relaxed its admission standards for basketball players when Amaker got there.  He has thus been able to bring in sevearl athletes that are not "Harvard caliber."  Additionally, the Ivy League has recently adopted a rule that allows its schools to offer grants that cover all of a student athlete's costs.  They're not scholarships, but they're scholarships.  Previously, the amount of a student athlete's grant was need-based.

There are also several stories of Amaker walking a very fine line when it comes to recruiting violations.  There have been numerous reports of "bumping" and a story about a prospective assistant coach "randomly" showed up to a playground where a prospect was playing.  The coach played some pickup with the kid, talked to him about Harvard, and Amaker hired the assistant soon after that interaction.

Also, don't forget about the academic scandal that hit Harvard last year.

Amaker's done a good job there, but I'm not so sure it's entirely above board.

As a Yankee fan, let me give

As a Yankee fan, let me give you my perspective here: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Now a real analysis: I loved Joba for a while but his slider has lost its bite, his fastball has lost about 5 mph, and the guy is an all around ass (see: telling Mariano Rivera to be quiet).  The Yankees actually destroyed him.  Moving him in and out of the rotation messed with his arm and led to Tommy John surgery and he hasn't been the same since.  Maybe the Tigers can help him find some life in his arm, but based on what I've seen over the last few years he may be too far gone.

I wish he would come out and

I wish he would come out and really put some pressure on Borges and the offense, but it's not going to happen.  Of course he realizes that the offense is struggling - everybody knows our offense is struggling, but he's not going to start going after our coaches or players at this point.  The issue will be what he does at the end of the season, not what he says now.

If no changes are made (which is what I expect) then it's entirely fair to criticize Hoke.  If he surprises us all and switches something up, then we have to reassess what to complain about (until next season).

Here's what I'd like to see happen in the offseason.  Boot Borges, bring in another OC who is creative and doesn't call runs against 9 man fronts 20 times a game.  Shuffle the coaches (somebody would have to go, but I'm not sure why we need 2 linebacker coaches...goodbye Coach Smith?) and bring in a QB coach.  Hopefully Fred Jackson will retire and we can bring in Wheatley or Hart as a RB coach.  I think Funk gets another season given the youth on our interior.  However, if Bob Bostad (TB OL coach and former Wisconsin OL coach) is available, I think you need to consider him.  Either way, Funk will be on a very, very hot seat going into next season.

I have absolutely no problem

I have absolutely no problem with non-alumni being fans of a school.  I see no harm in it at all.

I do, however, hate when people say "we" when discussing professional sports.  The TIgers made the ALCS.  You did nothing.  "We" didn't make the ALCS, "they" made the ALCS. For whatever reason, that's always bothered me.  While I don't do it, I don't mind as much when alumni of a University say "we."  There is a shared connection with the University that raises alumni to more than just a fan/viewer - you were part of the University at one time and have a legitimate connection with the team.

I don't know how I came to these decisions in my head, but that's always been the distinctions I've made.

I randomly chose to support I randomly chose to support Spurs a couple years ago. If they keep Bale (unlikely but not impossible) I think they're a shoo-in for top 4 and could challenge for a title. Especially given the fact that Chelsea, Man Utd, and City all have new managers that will need to settle.

That being said, I think the top four end up as: Chelsea, City, Ubited, Spurs in that order.

I just don't understand how Arsenal hasn't made a single significant addition this summer and unless something big (Suarez) happens, I can't see them sneaking by Spurs again.
