...you know it's sped up. Could be a nice kick returner or slot, but I'm told he's smaller than his listed measurables, FWIW. There are better targets at RB.
He isn't just "anyone". He should be more responsible with his words considering that he's one of the most visible and recognized former players Michigan has.
Love Desmond, but his poor timing & equally poor choice of forums for making certain inappropriate comments are all well documented. (i.e, comments he made about Denard last season).
But hey, it's like, whatever. He's an all-time great playing the game, I don't take his words or opinions as gospel.
The Carvin Johnson transfer did open up a spot, but that's not the spot that may become available shortly - I just don't want to play the name game when it concerns an academic issue of an incoming commit that may not qualify - supposedly it isn't a big name, FWIW. Too soon to speculate. Yuri is still the #1 CB on Michigan's board by a lot...don't think this will affect his recruitment in any way. Magnus, I also thought he was purely a CB/WR but Safety keeps being thrown in there from the people I've spoken to...we'll see.
Patience is a virtue. We are still in play for many top level recruits, a lot of the elite kids ususally decide late (after their season or at the all-american games, some even wait until signing day bc of the added coverage and exposure). There's plenty of buzz on the recrutring trail re: Michigan and it's all very positive.
Dude, come on, reading comprehension? I just told you I don't post threads here, I don't bring my tweets here, others do that. If I ever post it's to confirm something or to add my opinion to a subject (or to defend myself against BS accusations).
You actually started following me on twitter when you were still writing for that other blog and you would retweet things I would say (before you got the gig here). Don't make stuff up buddy, it's not a good look. You give ninjas a bad name.
Again, you're wrong. I don't pose as a recruiting analyst, nor have I ever eluded to anything close to that. I provide info for those less fortunate (it's a tough economy out there, man). I personally know some of our recruits and other I've established relationships with them over twitter. I don't badger anybody on twitter let alone our recruits/commits (unlike you who incesantly tweets recruits to follow you..awkward).
Quit making assumptions, you know what they say...
ps. I do this as a hobby, actually started out covering recruiting for me and my friends' email chain - I prefer to remain under the radar, it's not my fault people bring my tweets here or anywhere else. It's not like I post threads here.
Hey man, Ace was completely wrong thinking I took Pharaoh's position switch news from anybody...in fact...Pharaoh and I speak frequently and he just tweeted that he told me first. So f*ck off Ace.
Hey Ace, I spoke to Pharaoh this morning. Look at the time of my tweet, TomVH obviously posted his story over an hour after me. It's pretty safe to assume that you're wrong. You obviously can't read my tweet b/c I blocked you after you stole some info from me...I never called you out on it just blocked you (who was following whom??) but your constant badgering is getting annoying.
I stated in my tweet that Pharaoh TOLD ME (over DM on twitter). I'll be more than happy to provide a screencap....
Coaches didn't want Shaq to come in for such a busy weekend. They haven't had the chance to really get to know him so they told him, if he was seriously interested, he would visit another week. So this is actually great news...
Kazaam!
EDIT: A few posters above already covered this. Oops.
Don't forget about our 4-star Safety commit Jarrod Wilson. Jeremy Clark has aa pretty big frame,he could prove to be a pretty freakish OLB if they pack on the pounds...this is just speculation on my part. Yuri is always worth taking, he's an elite CB in any class.
RB Kamani Thomas is pretty good (2013 ESPN 150 Watchlist), from limited film he looks like a 4-star type. I dunno about Trent Richardson though... Always nice to have a lifelong fan express interest in going to Michigan. Good news, thanks for the link.
Ace is right (for the most part), I just relay info - sometimes it's based off premium headlines but (many) other times they are my own thoughts and conclusions or other things relating to Michigan Sports, not always just recruiting. I've never said I'm an "insider", just a fan informing the less fortunate - drawing Beaver's ire is plenty of compensation for me. You all have a good one and go blue!
I understand your point but I'm not sure I agree with you when you say they don't have any OMG SUPERSTARS:
DE Jelani Hamilton, LB Raphael Kirby, RB Duke Johnson, LB Keith Brown, WR Angelo Jean-Louis are all absolute studs (just naming a few).
I'm not a fan of poaching kids, but if there's mutual interest then why not. It's all fair game until NSD. There are plenty of high character kids in Golden's class (all these allegations are prior to the Golden regime)....let's not just put them all under the same umbrella, that's just not fair to the kids. Just my 2 cents...
Coach Mallory is recruiting him and has told Devin they see him as an ATH, most likely as a DB. But that him trying out for QB is not out of the question whatsoever. He wants to have a shot at playing QB, but will choose his school based on other factors as well (education, comfort, etc.)
He's 6'2 195 lbs. Great hands, your prototypical possession receiver. He has meh speed but he's smart and knows how to get open, finds space b/w defenders and is a pretty good downfield blocker. Not really considered a D1 prospect but hey, his film looks nice...and his name is Bo.
We might need to add one more to this list, and it's a big one...
Army All-American DT Tommy Schutt 6'3 300 lbs. will visit Michigan this weekend according to Cal Golden Blogs, he's a 5-star on Scout and a 4-star on Rivals. Beast of a player.
That's correct. AAU caused the conflict in his travel schedule, he'll be up at Michigan soon enough. IIRC this is Stanford's first time visiting Michigan's campus - I'm sure he'll be blown away and will report good things to his boy AW.
I spoke to Mike Farrell over at Rivals and he told me the following:
1. They see Mario as a tweener and need further evaluation before they decide. Would help if his HS coaches would play him more at OLB this coming season, since that's where he projects at Michigan.
2. They help pick the kids for the Army All-American game and Mario is nominated but not yet selected, which helps explain why he has not been rated in the 4-star bunch. I guess his Sr. season is going to be key in how much he climbs up the charts.
ESPN and Scout are higher on Mario (both 4-star), also #94 on Tom Lemming's Top 100 - we'll see. Either way, kid is a gamer.
Fabregas never starts. It's always Xavi and Xabi Alonso doing most of the distribution from midfield with Busquets playing the defensive mid role and Iniesta rotating towards center from his wing position. I like Fabregas, but he's never on form when playing for La Furia.
His coach is saying that Wayne isn't changing his decision, and he's not visiting other schools. Also that he might announce it without a press conference....
Armani Reeves has said Michigan and PSU are in his Top 2 and Wayne Morgan, well, let's just wait until June 2nd shall we? :) Reason they may be able to take both is that Gant could very well end up playing SS or OLB, depending on how he develops...imo. Either way, what a great problem to have!
OU is still considered Gunner's leader at this point from everyone I've spoken to. Even after his visit to Mizzou today, OU is the team to beat. His May 28th visit to Ann Arbor will be huge! At this point I believe Michigan has just as good a shot as Mizzou or anybody else. Gunner has never referenced any depth chart, it doesn't phase him at all, he's a competitor. Which is why we are in a very good position at the moment.
lulz aside, he seems like a lock to redshirt in any case. What he lacks in athleticism, he seems to make up for it with his ability to stay in the play and pursuit the ball carrier. What do you think Magnus?
Yup you're right, they aren't typically deep threats. I grew up watching Santana Moss down here in Miami so I have a special place in my heart for sub-5'10 WRs tearing it up on deep routes. Odoms will be the guy...and I forgot about Grady. We'll be fine.
Only included Gallon b/c he made lots of nice plays during Spring ball and I think he'll contribute while DS is out, but Odoms will be the beneficiary of the majority of reps and targets. Plus, Odoms is a much better downfield blocker than Stonum. Not the worst position group this could happen to...how is Gallon OT??
The Odoms/Gallon duo have more than enough ability to make up the slack, agreed on the deep ball threat diminishing, but if anything (at least in my view) Odoms is a more successful/reliable outside the numbers WR than Stonum.
WHY DID WE TAKE AWAY DEVIN LUCIEN'S OFFER!?!? FUUUUU.

But Yuri goes to Don Bosco (NJ), not Good Counsel (MD)...

Great film, easily a 4-star, we got a nice steal.

No doubt. If everybody's legs look like this:

All signs point to a top 5 class, imo.

Big 33 Highlights: 2011 #Michigan Commits:
#2 Keith Heitzman
#15 Frank Clark
#18 Antonio Poole
-At the 0:23 mark, Keith Heitzman makes a great play off the edge to sack the PA QB and cause a TO.
-At the 3:21 mark Antonio Poole lays the lumber.
-At the 4:36 mark Frank Clark kills the PA QB.
Thanks to @mgovideo for posting the highlights on twitter.
There you have it, never trust a Cal Bear...

Have a good one fellas...

It's a great shot, but it was staged....still funny though.

Glad you threaded it, I figured somebody would have posted it already haha. No Ross or RJS though? Lemming!
He already did, at old no. 98
