Are you already worried about DPJ not living up to his lofty rankings?
Consensus top 25 overall player in his class, so far has looked good but not great. Obviously he has an excuse last year with nobody to deliver him the ball, but in general his body of work looks more like a high 3* or low 4* recruit at this point in his Michigan career.
Obviously the guy is going to be successful as hell, and could very well be prepping himself to go straight to Medical School without any career in football beyond college. But is anybody else just a tad underwhelmed with DPJ up to this point?

That is not Michigan’s offense under Harbaugh. I’m not saying Michigan will never have a 1000 yard receiver, but in Michigan’s best passing season during Harbaugh’s tenure at Michigan (a record year) here were the stats:
Chesson: 50 catches, 764 yards, 9 TD’s
Darboh: 58 catches, 727 yards, 5 TD’s
Butt: 51 catches, 654 yards, 3 TD’s
Team totals: 258 catches, 3,090 yards, 21 TD’s
Harbaugh likes to run first and spread the passes around. He also recruits enough talent so he is not reliant on one WR being the man, which is also more prone to having the passing attack shut down. Expecting WR’s to put up Oklahoma like numbers at Michigan is not going to happen.

You are miserable.
September 12th, 2018 at 5:43 PM ^
Tad underwhelmed with this post, good Sir!
September 12th, 2018 at 5:44 PM ^
He's a sophomore and we are only two games into the season. Think before you post.
September 12th, 2018 at 5:44 PM ^
OP is Braylon?
September 12th, 2018 at 6:26 PM ^
Nope. He’d be AAmichfan, for obvious reasons...
September 12th, 2018 at 5:44 PM ^
Statistically speaking, DPJ was one of the best freshman receivers in the country last year. He's now a true sophmore and has only played two games this year. Lets calm down a bit.
September 12th, 2018 at 5:46 PM ^
DPJ is one of the current players with an mgoblog account, now he's going to use your OP as bulletin board material and come give you the dreaded Arabian goggles
September 12th, 2018 at 5:48 PM ^
NO
Get MORE positive man.
September 12th, 2018 at 10:36 PM ^
This should be the new banner.

September 12th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
Hell no, DPJ Black and Collins are the bomb.
September 12th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
DPJ is leading the team in receptions, and the passing offense is, as they say, "ascending."
Seems like he catches everything thrown his way.
September 12th, 2018 at 5:59 PM ^
WTF?
You sir...have officially jumped the shark. (Apologies to Coach M, we know he likes sharks.)
September 12th, 2018 at 6:00 PM ^
No, and I also think Nico Collins is going to be friggin special in his career here. He's burning past defenders (both WMU and ND) and running routes like a pro. He's going to be a serious "go to" dude.

September 12th, 2018 at 6:19 PM ^
Does it concern you that Nick Collins seems to have passed his teammate who was rated the #1 WR in his class?
September 12th, 2018 at 6:31 PM ^
Not really because he hasn’t. You are defining wr success as deep bombs. Dpj has more catches and has also been involved in the run game in addition to returning punts
September 12th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Does it concern you that you don’t know shit. Everyone and their hot take I’m always right opinion. Shut the fuck up and let the kids play.
September 12th, 2018 at 7:40 PM ^
you are such a turd

Things I am worried about:
- Terrible threads
- Pointless threads
- Shitty threads
Things I'm not worried about:
- DPJ or other football players playing football
September 12th, 2018 at 6:03 PM ^
DPJ will be fine. He was not going to be an instant impact player in a pro-style offense because his route running was not as precise as Tarik Black. Combine that with our OL/QB and playcalling last year, and I think he did quite well last year.
Only thing that concerns me is his decision making fielding punts. Other than that, I'm quite pleased.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:03 PM ^
Seriously ? DPJ is going to be somewhere between a very productive college player and a high round NFL pick. I'm hoping for him to become a star, but at worst he is a productive starter.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:04 PM ^
No. Not really.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
no. but what i don't get is you ask a question as if you are concerned, and then proceed to explain why you are not. weird post.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
Of all the things I'm worried about on this team, the WRs and TEs are pretty close to the bottom
September 12th, 2018 at 6:09 PM ^
We haven't had a QB to throw to him until now. I don't really dig him taking punts, though. I'd rather see a jitterbug, quick footed guy than a straight-line strider.
September 13th, 2018 at 3:15 AM ^
ya must not have like steve breaston then either.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:10 PM ^
If he were on another team he would probably be a stud by now ... Put him on Alabama and he’s on the Biletnikoff award list
September 12th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
I thought the posts coming last week were bad but this week has definitely upped the ante!
September 12th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
Well, let's see. According to the latest UFR, DPJ is 10/10 on catchable balls thrown to him for the season, which is far in excess of anyone else's production.
So, yeah, definitely seems like it's time to panic.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
This whole board needs to be nuked, it's such a trash pile now. I love the token assholes speaking up as if this is just a contrary opinion and not a trash one supported by no facts and willfully twisted around to fit the dumbass op's agenda. Cesspool.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:13 PM ^
Don’t worry be happy FFS
September 12th, 2018 at 6:16 PM ^
Relax.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
I get the concern given the lack of production last year considering Tarik wasn't on the field. HOWEVER, our QB situation wasn't the best.
If you look at the game vs. WMU, he had the most receptions and a fantastic catch for a touchdown. Our offense spreads the ball around to a bunch of players and we won't rely on one star receiver so his receptions or yards won't be the highest but I think this is a breakout year for the receivers including DPJ.
Light it up against SMU DPJ!
September 12th, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
Man get out of here with that shit.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
He’s talented and I think he will develop into a great player. But it’s ok to acknowledge he isn’t as quick as expected, and his impact to this point is not what was expected. There are factors like poor QB play involved but he doesn’t shake guys as easily as a #1 receiver should. Having said that, I think he can take the top off and become an explosive deep threat.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:22 PM ^
This is exactly what I'm saying. People are testy around here lately.
September 12th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Testy because of stupid shit like this.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:23 PM ^
2 games into his Soph season. Really? Let's wait a bit.
I am feeling a highlight catch in a big game this year.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
As a guy who came in with expectations to be in the program for only 3 years, he's a few games away from the midpoint of his college career.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:38 PM ^
Calvin Johnson won the Biletnikoff trophy with Reggie Fucking Ball throwing it to him.
I would have taken Reggie Fucking Ball last year as our QB without hesitation.
September 13th, 2018 at 6:14 AM ^
Now I know you’re high! A few games away from his midway point in his career? This alone proves you’ve been inhaling the wrong things, period.
September 12th, 2018 at 6:24 PM ^
Are you worried that this thread is one of the worst I have read?
