AP Top 25

Oddly, Michigan is ranked 1 place higher than Wisconsin.

Indiana being ranked - means they are no longer the Power 5 team with the longest drought in terms of an AP Top 25 appearance.

IU's first AP Top 25 appearance since September 20, 1994.

That title now goes further north in the Hoosier State.  To Purdue.  Purdue hasn't been in the AP Top 25 since September 30, 2007.

That was early season turnover-prone Michigan.  We are a different team today than we were back then.  Wiscy lost to Illinois and was completely shelled by OSU.  These ranking are justified.

At this point in the season, Michigan deserves to be ahead of Wisconsin.  Michigan has improved as the season has progressed, and UW is playing about the same as it did at the beginning of the season.

Let me put it this way....if UM played Wisconsin at a neutral site tomorrow, who would you pick to win?  Vegas would favor UM by a few points.

CU and Minny would definitely swap places if Minny had gone 15-0 last year, throttled Bama, won 2 of the last 3 NCs, a generational QB, 10+ NFL talent and a culture to beat ... while CU had 15 straight seasons without 10+ wins.

Only 3 people actually believe Minny could beat Clemson let alone beat them on a neutral field.

Wisconsin and Michigan have very similar resumes.  They both have two wins over ranked teams at home (one by a significant margin over a team ranked in the teens, one close over Iowa).  They both got crushed once on the road by a ranked team, and lost a close one on the road.  The difference is that our close loss is to Penn State, while theirs is to Illinois.  This is similar to the time that Notre Dame beat Florida State then lost to Boston College, and ended up ranked second behind Florida State.

Also, as others have said, Michigan looks like a much better team now than they were in September.  McGrone and Haskins have emerged as major contributors, the running game actually exists, and the run defense is vastly improved.
