I thought they ran out earlier than they usually do, the band didn’t seem quite prepared for it and were late to start playing the Victors. The players usually hang around for a bit while anticipation builds until the HC gives the go.

(pre-game coin flip discussion)

Aidan Hutchinson: “Before we let you leave, your 3rd base commander must cross this field, present himself before this army, put his head between his legs, and kiss his own arse.”

I saw that on the TV, but didn’t realize that was happening.  Very cool!  I think they were just excessively anxious to get the game going - they were SO fired up for that game!!!

I saw that in one of the video clips. The boys across the way didn't realize the dam was about to burst and roll over them.

In my opinion, the captains should always lead the team out of the tunnel. Not to exaggerate its importance, but it's a highly visible (if ceremonial) leadership role and represents that the program is run by the players. The success of this team is largely attributable to the players embracing the "leaders and best" mindset. Let self-aggrandizing coaches (e.g. Scott Frost) take the spotlight at the front of the line.

Personally, I think the coaches that walk out arm in arm with players (like Franklin and others) look stupid; trying too hard to make it all about them and pretend they're loved by the players.

Pretty sure Bo was typically last out of the tunnel until his final game, when he joined the front of the line.
