Our staff must be way higher on him than his rankings indicate. To take him this early in the recruiting cycle for a class that is suppose to be tight in numbers, definitely speaks volumes to our evaluation on him. From everything I've read on him and from the people I've talked to, most people seem to think he definitely won't be a 3-star by NSD 2017.

That said, this certainly came out of left field.

We have seven graduating seniors. On top of that, I expect us to wrap up spring practice with at least two kids getting medical hardships (the two that come to mind are actually legitimate possibilities. They're being given one more chance to prove that their injuries are beyond them, but most people are pessimistic that it will happen). So that should put us at nine. We have two locks to leave early, but its also safe to tack on another 2-3 kids who will have big years and leave early, so that puts us at 14, if we're not being conservative.

But yes, we absolutely have a handful of second and third year players who are in the "shit or get off the pot" phase of their careers. If they don't step up as contributors this year, they might get the honest talk about how they might want to look elsewhere. After that you can always account for unforseen events to happen over the course of the next 11 months. Someone suffers a career ending injury (which you obviously hope does not happen but definitely could), kids getting kicked off the team, others who genuinely transfer because they want a better situation, etc...

I think we end up with 18ish recruits. We're at 11 right now (our kicker will likely be a PWO for his first year). While I do think there will be a few kids who get "processed". I don't expect it to be more than three.

Logical and OSU fans aren't exactly two words you find in the same sentence all that often. You're clearly one of the good ones. I was speaking to the cooler poopers on 11 warriors who make fun of every little thing Harbaugh does and somehow think Urban is morally superior. It's like give me a fucking break. Every player that has left Michigan under Harbaugh except Brian Cole has left with their degrees.

Most OSU fans are complete hypocrites. Urban is going to run a lot of kids off this year. And I will be laughing my ass off watching the spin eminate from Columbus.

Why do you honestly post here?  I know you come in peace, yada yada.  Isn't there anything on the OSU blog that you can go post to?  You and the RationalBuckeye pop up every time there is anything referencing OSU.  Do you hover for that or is it in a RSS feed for you?  It is unpopular with some mods and Timmaaay but go away.

This is unnecessary. I was raised to believe that every buckeye marries his sister too, but regardless I still think we should be nice to Buckeyes who take the time to post things on this site that clearly are not trolls. Buckeyejonross is not our enemy, he just likes a different football team. And maybe his sister (not judging).

Sounds good to me, as I do the same and read OSU info.

No matter what, we are like two siblings with OSU. In constant competition, and at times a near "bloody war", but in the end I hope they do well, (except when it comes to The Game, and of course, recruits we both want). I respect the hell out of them, and also am interested in what they do and who they get as we will see them in future.

So welcome, discuss as you will, best to keep it sane and rational. So don't yell "fire". Some will always detest, but not I. In the military too long, to not value free speech, even with those of you on the "DarkSide"  /s

I get what you're saying, and buckeyejon, you and the few other rational osu fans I come across are tolerable.

I'm sure you recognize what a distinct minority you are - and I'm sure you'll (somewhat fairly) point out that the discourse on Mgoblog isn't exactly the norm for our fanbase either.

But just to contrast what I call love with what you call love - I love Michigan sports so much (mainly football but I like us to do well in all sports) that I spend an amount of time on this blog that I'd be frankly embarrased to admit, but not one second on 11W or RCMB.

I don't feel any need to know what you guys are doing or saying, and I think I reflect a very large % of the people on this blog (hence this whole dialouge) when I say that I wouldn't mind if none of you, troll or otherwise, ever came on here to give us your thoughts again.

That's what I call love...

I dunno man, not to talk about my fake Internet points here, but if there's a very large % of MGoPeople who want me to never talk again, then why are they upvoting all the things I say and downvoting the guy who has a real bone to pick with my general existence on this dot com site?

Maybe you're a very small percentage of MGoPeople who can't seperate human beings from the place they got their degree. Look, I only ever comment on threads/comments about Ohio State. Look at my posting history. 98% of it is a direct reply to a comment about OSU on a thread about OSU. So if you don't "feel the need to know what OSU fans are doing or saying," then you would never see any of my comments, because they're only on threads about Ohio State. And why would you ever open one of those?

but I like having a member of an opposing fan base on site to give their views. You are able to detect quickly those that are fans and wish to either join in the conversation, or possibly just to point out mistruths and give their opinions from an entirely different vantage point.

People will get a hell of a lot more out of these different topics if they are willing to open their minds just a bit. I recall the PSU rivals site from years ago and its only content was puffing smoke up everyone's ass about all things PSU and, at that time, JoePa. Simply pointing this out to them and the fact that by so doing, they were depriving themselves of actually learning the truth in regard to a few incidents, that based on their posts - copy after copy of same - they had no clue  about.

As I said, I can only speak for myself, but was happy to run across this one so i can read Buckeye related posts and get an honest opinion from a fan of that school.

I get your point and it's well said.  I certainly won't downvote you or question your right to exist.  I personally have always appreciated your posts buckeyejonross.

To be fair though, this post is about a recruit who we've been following and has visited Michigan.  It is not about that school down south.  The recruit who this thread is about just happened to commit there.

I guess I'd equate osufancomesinpeace's post to a guy telling me all the reasons he's dating my ex.  I'm really not interested.

OK, your post is 48 hours old so you'll probably never see this reply, but to say that a post on Mgoblog, about a guy who went to my HS - directly across the street from the Big House - is about ohio state though?!

It's "about' Antjuan Simmons, and I get your interest in what we'd have to say about his committing to osu - my point is (and I think you've answered your own question) about why I personally don't feel any need to hear from you or any other buckeye supporter on this blog...

You see? It's like you're commenting on family business. And of course the mega-douche who started flaming you got downvoted while you got upvoted - This is Mgoblog!!!!!

It ain't 11W or RCMB. That's the Michigan Difference...

Rivals should be interested in what their rivals are doing. Not more interested than their own team, but it makes sense to be interested. Similarly, they have more information about their rivals, and can provide insight into what they (and other teams) are doing. That expands our knowledge as fans of Michigan to understand what is going on elsewhere (both similar and dissimilar) which is beneficial to us, and beneficial to rival fans.

People are interested in football. Especially in spring, there is very limited content. As long as they don't come in flame-throwers a-flaming, there is no issue with rivals being here.

No one is unseating Donovan People Jones for #1, and word is that Ambry Thomas is a better prospect than both Corley and Hill. Harbaugh has other guys he wants more. If this kid was from Lapeer no one would blink an eye. Have to trust him.
