I'm thinking that Magnus means long term. Through college. Wide receivers are hit and miss just like linbackers are. So having a them in the top few in the state before their senior years and calling that one will be better "when all is said and done" isn't really a stretch. Magnus has watched both. He likes both. Antjuan **might** be better.

Correct. I like them both, but Simmons is a more instinctive football player. He's not as skilled athletically, but we'll just have to see in about four or five years who panned out better. It could very well be Peoples-Jones, but Simmons has a chance.

If you think you can overtake your No. 1 rival when they come in here and repeatedly beat you out for your top flight in-state kid you are delusional.

Myer coming in and landing a highly rated prospect that lives across the street while you are in Florida was a calulated and embarassing development.

For all the good Harbaugh has done, he hasn't narrowed the gap between us and OSU, losing evern worse this year then we did each of the last two. And while everyone is busy trying to find their spot in the Maize and Blue circle jerk, Myer is quietly out recruiting us nationally and in our own back yards.

Hasn't narrowed the gap based on one game?  There is still work to be done but to state that so emphatically is reckless.  As others have said, losing him might hurt, especially if Magnus is right.  However, if you don't see the immediate and long term benefit of putting a grasp on parts of Florida recruiting, you don't watch enough Michigan High School football.  The talent gap is immense, regardless of this young man's rating.

I am all for all opinions being represented. I don't however, appreciate rivals coming and spewing nonsense or trolling. Your conclusion about it being an "embarassment" is an example of the kind of drivel I'm talking about. An embarrassment to who?

I am not saying it is the case but for all we know Harbaugh could've laid out expectations for him he wasn't able or unwilling to meet. People just don't know. Yet, you open your stupid fucking mouth. The only embarrassment is publiclly showing your failities and insecurities by not coming here to contribute but to troll.

Now get the fuck out of here you fucking troll you'll not find a cooler to poop in and we keep our backyard free of trash.

Good luck to the kid, but pretty clear Harbaugh has other guys higher on his linebacker board. He really slow played him last year when he was racking up offer from all over the country. You also have to remember Wheatley has seen this kid more than anyone as he has a son on Pioneer. I wouldn't sweat this one.

Another symbolic recruit for Urbz at OSU.  I wouldn't expect him to be a big part of their plan at LB, but sends a clear message when you take a recruit from a high school across the street.  Would be like Michigan taking a recruit from Upper Arlington, probably worse.  Once the kid sees who's being recruited around him and who already sits in front of him on the depth chart at OSU, he should more clearly see what's happening.

Meh, the only reason this is a story is because of where the kid goes to high school. It's clear Michigan has a lot of other guys they like better. When Harbaugh signs Singleton, Ross, and Browning no one will even care a random 3 star from Michigan is going to OSU.

He's not going to be a "random 3 star" by the end of this recruiting cycle, but I see your main point and agree with it. The kid's more than likely going to play, and you know the media will not let the "Ann Arbor kid signed with rival" headline go as long as he sees the field. Michigan is on some big timers, however, and you can't change up your linebacker priority list based off of location. That being said, Simmons may have been a good option down the road if the guys at the top don't pan out. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the end of his recruitment.

with a sick offer list.. He is about as highly sought recruit as you can get. This isn't some charity offer from OSU. This is a bad development and an embarrassing one. But Jimmy knows what he is doing, just like he knew what he was doing when he took all those 2-3 star recruits and then spent the rest of the year trying to get them out of his class.

It is clear to me Harbaugh has no plan and is making this up as he goes along.

I'm certain the Oracle has a point, I was just inquiring as to what that point might be. The OP was about Antjuan Simmons and the response was simply Rashan Gary. I'm not sure how the two are related and then he posted it again so I ask, what correlation exists and was the second posting meant to have a different point than the first time?

The same role that Lee played, a hybrid LB/Safety type. Likely would have played that at Michigan as well, but I think OSU is looking for more of a true LB for that position, while Michigan seems to lean toward more of a safety type for that position.

I haven't watched a lot of Simmons, but it may be a better fit for OSU than Michigan anyway, so from a fit standpoint, it may not be a huge loss for Michigan but a nice pick-up for OSU. Still hurts a bit with him being right across the street.

To give this a silver lining - taking a 3-star means less room for 4- and 5-stars. Although now that he's a Buckeye, he'll probably get a huge bump, especially from everone's favorite site, Rivals.
