I took the hashtag as a way of him saying this is not a commitment post since some people might think it is instead of him saying "Oh hey you guys got a nice win, that's cute.  I'm still going to UCLA."

Lots of recruits are using that hashtag. No wonder. We've had multiple topics on this board where the OP misinterpreted something like Christopher posted. I'm sure it doesn't only happen here.

Don’t forget maybe one of his most important qualities: comparatively extreme player/recruit relatability- I’d argue he is THE #1 coach in all of MBB by a mile in this dept.

This is insignificant/irrelevant in and of itself, but it demonstrates the larger point:

JMFH almost certainly listens to the same music his players and top recruits listen to. Some coaches do this bc they know they’re old AF and they have to in order to avoid being seen as the ‘crazy grandpa’ coach (very likely see: Greg Mattison and others like him).

But Juwan Howard is as authentic as it gets, both in perception and reality- as a member of the most elite, culturally recognized recruiting class college basketball has ever seen, this dude lived the exact same life these kids are living in 2019, and that absolutely matters to them.  And, the fact that he’s also hands-down one of the most likable & utterly respectable guys in the sport means it absolutely matters to their parents too- 99% of them want their kids to someday be a man just like Juwan- he’s the perfect role model and they know it.

This greatly magnifies every single positive on-paper quality he has & will have as a coach, to a degree that I don’t know if the draw of any other coach will compare so long as he’s as successful as it looks like he can be (not considering bagmen resources, of course).

I’d be worried if I was Krzyzewski, Calipari, Williams, Self, Wright, Bennett, Few, Tiny Tom (or any other current successful coach) and I saw Juwan winning at a high enough rate.  He’s the very best definition of a player’s coach- they’ll run through brick walls for him. 

It is also going to be a destination for people who want to win. Watch out world, were about to shock you!
