all 9 CB's to Michigan.
This is a bigger deal than it is getting credit for.

Not that it matters, but it would take Michigan's class from #8 in the nation to #5 in the nation jumping USC, OSU and Uconn.
I really, really like Collins film. As a true point, i like him better than Aikens (247 has him 1 spot ahead as a point). But Aikens can flat out score.

Not a bad consolation prize by Juwan after missing out his top target, Jaden Akins.
That leaves a big and an extra wing player left for his class. All in all, a good job of recruiting by Juwan Howard and the assistant coaches

I may be in the minority on this but I would love to see that 'extra' spot go to a guard. Bufkin has some utility and can play the 2 or 3 but may end up best as a wing player. On top of that I just think this roster has more wing talent than guard. The guard situation for 2021 is Zeb Jackson, maybe Chaundee Brown, then whoever gets signed in this class. That is wafer thin.
Unless of course someone like Harrison Ingram wanted to commit then, yeah, that would be perfectly okay.

To me Bufkin is a pure combo G. He can play the PG and SG because he can handle the ball and be the primary playmaker. He's more G than a wing based on his skillset

Even if Bufkin is more combo guard and plays that more I still think guard is a bigger need. Having someone with the size to play wing and the ball skills to work at guard is a problem Im ok with. We almost dont have the ability to go small right now. A lot of college teams play with 3 guards on the court. We have 3 guards on the roster. Year in year out guard play seems to be the determining factor come tournament time and Id like more bullets in the chamber for hitting on some high quality ones.

Frankie is ranked ahead of Jaden. I’m not sure how accurate that is or how the guys on the board that evaluate talent see this but all things considered this would be a huge win.

Jaden has huge upside and is severely underranked IMO. He has elite athleticism with good shooting. Not sure why he's not ranked higher but he should be a top 25 player.

I really like Akins and was very disappointed when he did not land with the good guys. However, when Collins entered the picture my disappointment was mitigated. Both these kids are winners who demand individual attention while also making their teammates better.

PG is easily the most important position in college basketball so to get the 9th best PG in the class is awesome and really important to UM’s future.

Corey Evans still thinks he's a Stanford-Purdue battle but did say if he doesnt go to one of them then Michigan would be the likely choice. Here's to hoping! Need to secure Reid next though.

I project Mr. Collins to be the second best player on "the list"...behind, only, Burke. He is a strong kid with elite quickness and handle who plays the game with intelligent and relentless ferocity.
Concerns regarding his lack of stature and being a defensive liability are overrated. His strength and elite quickness will stonewall opposing PG penetration and force offenses to seek alternatives to their norm. He may need to learn to defend being posted up but he has the talent to defend this quite well-he can front and out-leap most of those he is playing against.
Lots of up-side here.
