I'm not surprised but the last three years of football have been the best I can remember so I won't grumble too much.  I just hope we get it done on Saturday.

Not surprising any more, but it was only about 5 minutes ago that people leaving MI to play down south or west was almost unheard of. Same for non-football players--I was unaware for all my time of any regular student going down south for college, now, at least in my circles, it's actually common. Kids going to Bama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida is not even eyebrow raising anymore.

I don't blame him! We've got our most talented QB since I've been a Michigan fan and the offense is not designed to showcase his skills. I get why, and it's hard to argue with the W-L record over the past two years, but it seems like the optics are probably hard to overcome for top QBs and WRs. You'd think maybe the calculus would be different for a local kid, but it appears to not be different enough.

I thought this was a done deal a while ago. Best of luck to him. I hope he enjoys watching his head coaches face turn the same color as his shirt. 🤷

The correct response to this is for Michigan to hire a PI and have them dig into LSU's recruiting practices, then report back to the NCAA.

If you can't beat 'em, investigate 'em!

I will get negged for this but I’m good with the kid going to LSU. At M the qb is huge but not the team. If he wants the numbers, then go to LSU.

He’s a talent but life goes on and M will be fine. Give me a kid who wants to be here and be a leader like JJ. If that’s Bryce, great. If not, no worries.

The counterpoint to that is that if he wants the best NFL prep, he should be coming here. Harbaugh runs an NFL offense, with NFL reads. Kelly's most accomplished QB is, who, Ian Book with his whole one game played a couple years ago?

Honestly, top QBs, RBs, OL, DL should be banging down our doors given the development here. It's sad that instead QBs want to go to teams with flashy offenses that put up video game numbers but do absolutely nothing to get them NFL ready...

Running 32 straight times in one of the biggest games of the year is a sure fire way to prevent elite QB talent from coming

LSU is a mediocre team that puts up big QB stats

Bummer the 3 best QB prospects to come out of Michigan in the past 25 years happen in 3 straight years, and we won’t land one.

Oh well, we’ll be fine.

I see what you're saying, but Burrow had one of the greatest college seasons of all time. He also went undefeated and won a national title. Daniels is putting up video game numbers for sure, but he's played 5 years and started 4 of those years, while Burrow pretty much only played 2 years.

He's improved for sure, but it's not Joe Burrow like improvement.

I'm sure those competing for Underwood's services are suggesting potential if not likely NCAA sanctions that could easily sway him (along with boatloads of NIL cash). This whole ridiculous sign stealing allegation is the crappy gift that keeps on giving us nightmares.

Shocking. When he said that Smith kid committing doesn't change anything that's because he's going to LSU regardless and I don't blame him. Brinks truck full of cash, probably escorts, Brian Kelley will do a cringey dance with him on TikTok and he'll get to throw the ball 35 times per game.  What more could a highschool kid want?!?!

The NFL actually has been heading towards college offense with some NFL concepts. NFL has borrowed heavily from some of the best college offensive minds which the best college offensive minds have borrowed heavily from the best HS offensive minds. It's basically trickle-up when it comes to the scheme.

There is no such thing as a pro-style offense when you see a bunch of NFL lines up in shotgun and getting their playmakers into space.

This kid has pride in Michigan. You can't convince me he is excited to commit to Brian Kelly. I'll concede it is not looking good but a nice first row view of Saturday's beatdown of Ohio can't hurt his perspectives. Expect the crowd to be as intense as it ever has been. Just win.

first Dante and now Bryce.  We can't recruit the best QBs in our own state.  And Bryce lives like 15 minutes away from Ann Arbor.

Stallions can EAD as far as I'm concerned.  Recruiting will take a nose dive once the NCAA punishments get announced.

I think he has quite a bit of handoff upside, all he needs is more reps. He should come to Michigan so he can explore that properly. I hear from my scouts it could elevate him into the top five in his draft.

Well that's pretty shocking /s

This recruiting cycle has been frustrating along with the last cycle. People say Underwood is going to LSU because their QB puts up big numbers, but I'm not sure. We put a bunch defensive players in the league and we're not getting any 5 stars there. We've had multiple 1st round pick edge rushers and nothing. We don't get 5 star OL even though we clearly coach up the line.

I think maybe it's just that we're not good enough at recruiting, whether that's NIL, or messaging or marketing former players or whatever, I'm not sure, but it's odd.

Combo meal.  Considering we have been in the playoffs the last 2 years and have over 3 recruiting cycles 2021 2022 2023 how many 5 starts? 3?? JJ, DE and Johnson?

Think need to add Harbaughs flirtation with the NFL the last 2 years to that list and now this years shit that all adds up

It's honestly impressive how average our recruiting has been the last couple of years. It may have actually gotten worse since that JJ/DE class.

I always thought getting to this level of success, recruiting would really jump and we'd be able to maintain it, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

I mean we're like top 5 or something day 1 and day 2 picks and we've struggled to recruit corners, safeties, running backs, etc consistently.

Player development is crazy good and just hope as assistants leave moving up in the world JH replaces them with just as good of coaches---if he does not decide to just bolt because of this mess

I was really expecting the recruiting to be alot better as well and agree that it seems to have gotten worse...just weird really..odd..messed up
