That was the season in a nutshell. Ouch

Tarris Reed should have been in the last few minutes instead of Williams. That was the key to the end of the game for them 

No points in the final 5 minutes is bad enough. But the management of that final few possessions was even worse. I know this team doesn’t run the break much if at all, but how you don’t instinctively push the tempo when the IU guard drives, misses and falls down is beyond me. Then you call a TO and draw up a complete nonsense play. Frustrating, as closing games out continues to be their Achilles heel! 

You can't win if you can't score. No points for Michigan in the last 5+ min of the game. It's been a sh!tty season. That last possession sucked, why wasn't Hunter involved-who knows.

SO many chances all season long, SO little to show for it.

The late game execution and substitution patterns continue to baffle. The plan seemed to be to force feed Dickinson at the end, but then they played 3 non-shooters around him, and they didn't have Reed who could at least threaten the middle on the double. You absolutely have to play Baker or Reed just given what your plan was at the end. But that's about what I've come to expect under this staff. No real solutions at the end of games. 

I'm sure Williams is a good teammate and works as an energy guy but he absolutely shouldn't be playing closing minutes anymore.  

And I know people are going to rag on Howard for that last possession and he's had issues over his tenure with playcalls but I can't believe that was executed the way they drew it up.  Bufkin ran out of a good shot and then whistled it back to Jett, who almost seemed a bit surprised.  

Anyway, it's NIT season and so be it.  

HD dominates unathletic bigs. As soon as he plays against guys who are athletic he gets timid. 

Bufkin had a bad game offensively.  So many times he passes up open shot but he takes contested shots. That's coaching.

I cant for life of me figure out why Juwan plays Williams like he's Charles Oakley. 

Juwan showed zero sense of urgency to win this game. He literally just let it play put. I've said it before Juwan plays Checkers. We need a coach who plays Chess.

Do we not have passes off cuts to the basket anymore?  Teams hedge us so hard and aggressively, and we freeze or pass it into their hands.

ONCE AGAIN this team cant finish and CHOKES away any hopes of the tournament.at HOME no less. .No Heart No enthusiiasim no energy. With each passing game it looks like Howard was a swing and a miss.This is my Least favorite BB team in probably last 30 year.I Miss John Belein. I Know Howard wont be fired anytime soon so were Stuck with him for at least another season

One might also note that IU only scored 2 points after the under 4 TO and those were on a totally terrible foul call.    So maybe Woodson is a terrible coach too.  
 

UM had 5 points in that time that the refs took away.   2 on HD’s last drive to the bucket that was a solid foul.  Twice on Dug’s drive. A) far more contact on the shot than Bufkin’s foul, B) obvious goaltending.   Ok, so that’s a 3 point play if called correctly.  

 

What a gutless last 5 minutes. Nobody could hit a shot when they needed one, and nobody looked like they even wanted to take one. And someone will have to explain how Jett Howard is considered to be a one-and-done with shitty shots like his last couple that hit next to nothing.

No dance this year, which is fitting. They don't deserve to go.

I have been looking at the kids shooting recently. Jett, Dug and Kobe combined to go 11-32. Kobe had a good first half and then disappeared. 11-32 is not going to cut it. Meanwhile, the guy who should be in the conversation with TJD and Edey got 10 shots. The offense is just broken. 

I was just thinking about how Jett took a couple of I'll advised shots late in the game. And he's a coaches son. Just tells you that Juwan is really not a 'coach'. He's a guy who played Basketball forever. 

This game reminds me of the Iowa game and Virginia. Just Juwan folding his arms and rolling the dice. He literally had zero sense of urgency, either that or he has no other ideas.  Any blind fool could tell Reed was causing havoc. INDIANA couldn't handle him. Offensively or defensively.  But Juwan thinks Williams and Baker is the answer 🤣

Big Ten Tournament auto-bid or bust.

Has that ever happened, where a surprise Big Ten team won the BTT and got the auto-bid that got them into the dance when they would have been left out otherwise? 

My only beef with Nook is playing TWill so many minutes. It doesn't matter if he's the best practice player in history, he gets in games and doesn't just play poorly - he plays selfish basketball full of mistakes. It only makes matters worse knowing that if he actually played with more effort and focused on boards/D, he could be a big help to the team. Instead - 4 turnovers, 2 bricked threes, poor defense and 2 less boards than our 5'9" PG. There's no reason to keep giving major minutes to a guy who is the team's biggest liability.
 

You might think even a young team would get better at closing games by the time the regular season comes to a close, but here we fucking are.

Juwan really needs to be able to recruit or Portal a top level point guard that can run the floor, distribute, and be a threat to score.  Not having that makes Michigan much too easy to defend.

Can someone explain Juwan constantly motioning his team to run? Does he think this is 2nd coming of the showtime Lakers? He wants a bunch of bad dribblesr and passers to constantly run fast breaks. He was all up in Dugs grill to run at halfcourt when it was clear we had no numbers , I thought for sure Dug was going to dribble it off his foot but he smartly pulled it back. This team can't run. Like literally sloppy and bad concepts and spacing. Anyone remember the 2 on 1 fast break Baker and Bufkins tried? Literally they look like they have never practiced fast breaks. Yet Howard is always motioning the team to run.
