Does anyone know how realistic an upgrade is. Took advantage of the Recent Alum deal that we got as a Class of 21 consolation prize but now would like to get out of the student section if possible. Little to no priority points and little to no budget to increase them by April but would love to renew

I think it's a great time to lock those tickets in for next year and get ready to welcome Coach Payton/Rhule/Gattis/Hart/McDonald to the Big House!!!

That home schedule is terrible yet still a price increase. I didn't have enough points for BTC or the Orange bowl. I paid face (msu) or less (Wisconson and PSU) for every road game I attended last season...thinking it's time to give up my season tickets and just buy game by game on the secondary market.

I totally get why you feel that way.

Between 2008 and 2014, there were many times when I wondered why I continued to renew my tickets and pay the PSL.

But, there's something about experiencing the game in "my" seats...in the same place...with the same view of the field and stadium...surrounded by the same people...week after week...and year after year.

As such, I will continue to (happily) pay up!

i  mean, the issue is really the scheduling. Weren't we supposed to play someone this year? VaTech? Forgetting who... the out of conf is super un-inspired. Even if it might take us out of the running to an extent in some years, I like a marquee matchup early. It puts us on the map> doesnt have to be Alabama - but it can be some legit team that whether theyre great or not, its a great atmosphere and a fun thing to experience (tv or in person). Washington this year lost to Montana, but it still was a great experience and set the stage for the season.

But i get your point. at least msu and osu are split now. until they arent again.

I wonder what % of people are going to wait to renew until they hear about some substantial Harbaugh news. I'm not, but I'm curious what that number is.

Seems like Victors and Valiant PSCs went up. I think Victors were $660 last time and Valiant were $525 per seat. Now they are listed as $700 and $550 per seat.

Also - I thought the tickets prices were way higher than last year but I forgot about the extra game. Can we just get rid of that UConn game or move it to the first week?

I think I'll be waiting to renew until Warde gets the Harbaugh contract signed. The way that the athletic department takes advantage of season ticket holders loyalty is getting to be too much.

We held on to tickets during the Bradon years, while the program went down the drain.  The thanks that we got for our continued support is a very tenuous situation with the head coach that turned around the dumpster fire of a program that RR and Hoke left behind and an increase in the seat license charge.

Additionally, the non-conference schedule the next two years is horrible: 2022 -- Colorado State, Hawaii, UConn, 2023 -- East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green.  Clearly, that schedule is all about maximizing home games to ensure maximum revenue and who cares about giving the fans interesting games.

Warde has demonstrated his utter incompetence in managing the football program.  He demonstrated after the 2020 COVID season that there was no love for the coach that specifically stated one of the reasons that he wasn't interested in the Michigan job the previous time around was that the school didn't show him the love that would indicated he was really wanted as head coach.

I'd prefer to attend games that are actually interesting and not just processionals. The joy of live sports is that the ending is undecided, there is something at risk.

The difference in the excitement before the Game versus the Northwestern game was night and day, even though it was highly likely we were going to lose to OSU and almost no chance of losing to Northwestern.

This fascination of needing to win all of the games at the expense of having something at stake and being truly emotionally invested in the games along the way is disturbing.  If you can only find joy in a season like 2021 and not finding the joy in incredible experiences like Penn State and Wisconsin in 2018 and Norte Dame in 2019, you are living a far too sheltered (and sad) life.

Definitely agree about having interesting games on the schedule. Part of the issue for this year is the cancellation of the UCLA games. Would have caused a 6 game home slate next year and Warde has been adamant about having 7 home games a year. Since they couldn't or wouldn't swap home locations the games were canceled and we ended up with these buy games. Certainly disappointing since having UCLA at Michigan Stadium would be awesome.

I didn't wait to renew until the JH situation is resolved, but I did elect the payment plan (with no interest) on the tickets, not because I needed to financially, but if Warde ends up hiring any current UM assistant to coach the team (all of whom are beyond unqualified), I will likely cancel my tickets.

Maybe I'm wrong, and even if I'm right it's just a drop in the bucket, but when I went to the renewal website it looked like they weren't charging the $20 "processing fee" that they have charged in the past.

I'd add this "Highlight" to the OP: The AD wants $50! for traditional, hard tickets. Unless they're going to plant five trees in my name, that seems like an outrageous money grab. I guess I've reached old man yells at cloud status now...

I had the exact same reaction when that popped up on the final screen in the process of going through the renewal.

1. The physical paper tickets are great, and a big part of feeling like football season is nearly here is getting that same envelope in the mail every year... 50 additional bucks for that? C'mon.

2. Charging ANY additional "processing" fee for the tickets, especially the digital ones, is completely asinine.  Hell if you're going to nickel and dime everyone just build it into the price of the tickets for god's sake and call it a day.

I have decided not to renew my season tickets this year.  Season tickets are just not a good value any longer for me.

I will save a significant a amount of money and go to the 3-5 games I choose to attend.

I got turned down by numerous family friends to transfer the tickets.

The demand for tickets over the next few years will be interesting.  Even with Harbaugh and continued success, I believe there are many like me that don’t get receive value any longer.

We were like you after the 2019 season. Couldn’t find people to come to the lower marquee games (as our guests for free), had a hard time finding buyers for extra tickets at lower than face value, and other family members either didn’t want or couldn’t afford them. This was after having our tickets for 30 years. If we want to attend a game or two (or three), we just hit up friends and former tailgaters and can usually pick up tickets for a reasonable price. Not a judgment on the status of the program, it just wasn’t worth the price increases and hassles any more.

Thank you.  I received my email but I’ve still been looking for reminders.  I absolutely refuse to give up my exhilarating Falls, in Ann Arbor to a mistake in checking my reminder inboxes.  GO BLUE!!!

I had student tickets from 88-91.  I regretted not getting them after I graduated.  It took many years to finally get them again, after being on the wait list for quite some time.  I've had mine for some 20 years now and I go to 3-4 games a year.  I sell or donated the ones I don't use.  My daughter was a freshman this past season and we went to every game.  What a great excuse to be able to see your child when they are in college.  She, and her friends, come to our tailgates for the free food and drink.  We will certainly renew our tickets for the next three years while she's on campus.

Do they ever release any stats on incoming new season ticket holders vs outgoing? It would be interesting. Our family is letting go two of our season tickets (we still have 4 in the family). This is not a negative post at all I'm about as "all in" on michigan as I have ever been I just find it interesting how folks decide to stay locked in or not.

We've had some season tickets for decades so assume we will always keep at least 2 "just because" but it didn't make sense for me personally anymore.

It may also not be a bad thing to have a little churn in season ticket holders to allow new people to come in and purchase.
