2022 B Ball BigTarris Reed now has all three crystal balls for UM
As previouisly posted, he will be committing on AUGUST 5, and it looks like we will get him.
Ohio State just received a commitment from a center ranked higher. I guess Reed will most likely be ours. Nice!

FWIW Reed had a very good Peach Jam and will most likely see a ratings bump
He's ranked higher for now. Reed is likely due for a huge rankings bump
That center actually plays with reed on the same aau team, reed scored x2 PPG and generally was far more impressive. Happy with reed amongst the 2 and expect reed ratings to jump.
Ohio State received a commitment from Felix Okpara (who is ranked 47th on the composite and in 247's individual rankings). Good for Ohio State.
But Tarris Reed is grossly underrated/underranked. If I was ranking him, I would have him in the top 40. And depending on how he continues to perform in the AAU circuit and in his senior season, he has a shot at 5 star status.
I feel very strongly about Tarris Reed and I want to see him in a Michigan uniform. He'll be an excellent 2 way big for us (though his offense is much further ahead than his defense). I love his ability to shoot which will make him a match-up nightmare for opponents. Imagine if Hunter could step out to the 3 line and knock in a 3 point shot every game.
at first thought his name was "BigTarris Reed", which would have been fun
Let it be known. When he commits he will be BigTarris Reed.
I'm going to name my kid BigTarris in honor of this post. BigTarris Boddicker--does have a nice ring.
A #71 recruit is pretty good. Though after Derek Lively dreams, him being a 6'9" big, recently added to the board and him being a second choice for OSU, I'm going to want to see some hype articles.
That said, excited to be excited about him committing.
I recommend you start here:

In one of the write-ups MattEM points out he is a legit 6'10' with tree trunks for legs.
He's already 20 lbs heavier than OSU's commit and it does not look like he carries any bad weight.
I'd be ecstatic if Reed committed to Michigan. Mostly because Michigan won't have to play against him.
He’s as tall as Howard! U can tell in a photo he’s in!
The photo I saw makes him look at least 1.5” taller than Juwan but obviously photos can be tricky
I deserve the negs for the poor phrasing. I'm excited to be excited about this player. I've read most of MattEM's posts and most of them have focused on wanting other higher ranked players. It's exciting that we are in on some of those recruitments, but it sort of takes away from a guy like Reed (and it shouldn't.) I'll take all Hunter Dickensons, Sauce Castillos, Maurice Hursts and Chase Winoviches.
I actually like guys in the 20+ range who might play for 2-3 years. I hope we get Reed.
Buddy, you're in luck! You stumbled onto the exact site with those articles! https://mgoblog.com/content/hoops-recruiting-gaining-clarity-bigs
If you would genuinely like to get excited about Tarris playing for us, check out this (horribly titled) video
He's an absolute beast down low and can shoot. Very underrated.
Reed was a second choice for OSU?
They got a commitment from their second choice when they learned they were out of the running for Reed. The timing is not a coincidence.
Why would Reed want to come to boring ol’ Ann Arbor when he lives in the exciting cosmopolitan Orlando of the Ozarks - Branson!
Another good get it sounds. JH hard at work!
Fingers crossed.
Reed has a chance of being better than Clingan, just like Hunter was better than Kessler based on reports from Peach Jam.
Only time will tell, but getting the 5 put away will allow the staff to focus on wings...Still assuming Jett is a lock...
Getting Yohan Traore as a stretch 4 would be unbelievable.
Just kind of curious why Jett hasn’t just went ahead and cemented his commit?
Because his Mom is waiting for a better offer.
He’s better than pretty good.
Reed is the real deal and UM is highly fortunate to have secure this commitment. He will outperform everyone. Watch. OSU wanted him - don’t be fooled again.
I would love to see a 21-22 Michigan roster with Moussa, Tarris and Yohan on it. Having three bigs who can extend a defense, take their man off the dribble and defend at a very high level would make this team very dynamic. This would catalyze the game of the snipers and slashers as well. I believe this is exactly the kind of roster Juwan is looking to build.
