We Deserve Some Muppets
You know that little voice you thought you buried? The one that said “I think they can do this” when the defense held Penn State to a field goal after the fumble gave up the lead? The one that says Erick All, playin' hurt, is a star? The one that attached itself to Hassan Haskins and held on through gang-tackles, over fools, and around the edge to win in penitence? Let that voice sing.
And you can’t have one without the other!
Also hockey swept, and field hockey made a ridiculous comeback, and Dos a cero II! Bring us home, hoops!

Don’t sell your tickets vs OSU.

Buy some tickets and leave your "friend" from Ohio at home this time

This game had all of the traditional markings of a heart-breaking loss….
Until it wasn’t!!

I was already prepping my future coaching candidates after the fumble turned into a field goal by Penn State.
Please forgive me, my dudes, the PTSD had me there for a minute
November 13th, 2021 at 4:23 PM ^
The fumble got me, too.
November 13th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
The tone of the announcers' voice took me back to the fumbled kick against State...yeah, it was a tad somber in the house at the point in the game
November 13th, 2021 at 4:24 PM ^
There isn't a Michigan fan in the world that didn't have a "I've seen this before" thought when we lost that fumble.
November 13th, 2021 at 4:37 PM ^
I literally apologized to my 10 y/o son after the fumble for raising him as a Michigan fan. He still blindly said, “you’re wrong. We’re going to win.”
Oh to be young again.
November 13th, 2021 at 6:09 PM ^
Cool little dude you got there.
November 13th, 2021 at 4:41 PM ^
I texted and tweeted "same old Michigan," right after. Glad to be proven wrong.
November 13th, 2021 at 3:56 PM ^
I really had that unsettling feeling but then…Muppets!!!
November 13th, 2021 at 3:57 PM ^
FUCK YES!!!!
November 13th, 2021 at 3:59 PM ^
Well said, Seth! Congrats and kudos to the players and coaches. Some will come on the board and nitpick the play calling and say "Michigan deserved to lose" or " Penn State isn't even good". That's fine, let them. Much about winning football games is overcoming your imperfections and not flinching when the going gets tough. This team doesn't quit and they believe of each other. I'm so proud for them for how hard they fought and they never panicked when the momentum had a chance to consume the game in PSU's favor. This is a fun and easy team to root for.
Well done gents! And Go Blue!
November 13th, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
Maybe PSU was not good for a 3 week stretch ending the week before last, but that PSU team today played excellently and super-tough. Clifford & Dotson played tremendously. The O line made running room and sometimes time to pass. (Helped by 1 total holding call, on a tackle to ground they tried to ignore too but couldn’t, on 65 plays worth of 3+ holds each, but still.) Only an even tougher and even better effort from our (also injured) team won that game!
November 13th, 2021 at 5:38 PM ^
This game really felt like their Alamo of the season, as it did for Nebraska when we played them. I agree with your point, and it doesn't get recognized as much as it should. When you have a competent or explosive team trapped in a corner with their season on the brink, that's a dangerous team; and if they have any fight or resolve in them, you're gonna get their best shot.
Penn State is a wounded team, but they have some really good players. Especially on defense. Michigan got their best shot with whatever they had left and still got the win on the road. That's impressive. Respect to Sean Clifford. That guy was beat to hell late in this game and he still hung in there and finished the game. That game was a battle of wills between two good teams and Michigan did what they had to do to earn the win in Happy Valley. They should take a lot of pride in that.
November 13th, 2021 at 6:18 PM ^
Yeah, props to Clifford, he played a hell of a game. He was taking shots early and often and still got up and nearly guided his team to victory.
November 13th, 2021 at 3:59 PM ^
It was the type of game that Michigan should be All-in until the end.

WOOT! GIGANTIC WIN over PSU. Worst Michigan can finish is 10-2. UM guaranteed of either the Rose bowl, Fiesta bowl, or a spot in the college football playoff. GO BLUE!

Seth, man, — can I call you Seth? — you are doing an awesome job in keeping up the sky high quality of this site’s content and analysis. So, for me anyway: put Seth in that list of stellar performers worthy of muppets!
What fun to win a big game against an opponent playing super-well and tough, because we’re tougher and better! Love rooting for this team!

Sadly, there apparently isn't any sound option for this clip (unless I'm missing something but all the other gfycat clips you posted seem to have the sound option). Was hoping to hear the blogger yelling to compare to my yelling during the same play

For sure. All said his ankle was hurting on the run after the game but he just had to get in. Then he said Haskins toughest guy on team.

After the strip sack all I could think was, "shit, I've seen this game before"!
This game was a nice change of pace. Go Blue!

Cade 3 TD / 0 INT! Go Blue! Beat Maryland!!
November 13th, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
McNamara's fumble recovered by Penn State a blessing in disguise?
Rather than recovering but with a 4th down, then kicking to PSU and letting them take time setting up the go-ahead field goal, Michigan gets the ball back, thanks to the defense, and the offense has time to do something.
Where does THAT fit in UFR?
November 13th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
The game was tied and I think there was 6+ mins left in the game at the time of the fumble. I don’t think I can get on board with your “blessing in disguise” theory. Maybe if there was less time left on the clock I could see that.
November 13th, 2021 at 5:38 PM ^
RPS win? But that's some second level strategy there
November 13th, 2021 at 4:14 PM ^
Stout game for the D. Dealt with tempo. Smart use of a timeout when not ready in second half. Not caught subbing. Mistakes of Lansing have paid their dividends already. That loss generated this win.
November 13th, 2021 at 4:30 PM ^
There was a lot of complaining about all those defensive subbing penalties. But there was an article (can't remember where I saw it) with a quote from Harbaugh before last week's game where he talked about adjustments they'd made regarding that. Just felt like it needed to be mentioned.
November 13th, 2021 at 7:37 PM ^
We didn’t get called for any substitution penalties, but I don’t think we dealt with tempo that great. It’s seemed like in the game I was watching we were rarely set, frequently unprepared at the snap. We were definitely better but we struggled with it.
November 13th, 2021 at 4:16 PM ^
Gut-check win.
Go Blue.

Key Road Win for Harbaugh!

I was impressed with our 2 running first downs after stopping them on down. Not easy to run out the clock vs Penn State.

Hell yes …..muppets!!
