Trente Jones Commits to Michigan Comment Count

Seth

Huzzah a good recruiting thing happened! Yes, for us! 2019 GA 4-star OT Trente Jones (247 profile/highlights) has committed to Michigan.

Jones pulled the trigger after visiting this weekend—if you were in Crisler it was hard to miss the mountain sitting by Partridge. Listed at 6’6/282, he had offers from just about the whole SEC.

Informative update tomorrow, probably.

After reading this blog over the past month, I thought we would have to field a team of student body walk-ons next year. /s On a serious note, this is fantastic - welcome to the team!!!!

Trente Jones plays for Grayson, which is in Gwinnett County. Jeff Backus was an All-American OT for Michigan and played HS football in Gwinnett County. Therefore, Trente Jones will be an All-American OT for Michigan. This is how I choose to view this tonight. Welcome and Go Blue!

McElwain is going to be a draw to the offense. They say he can't recruit, but I think that is bunk. He will enhance the 2019 class immediately. His hire shows we are f-ing serious. Go Blue !!!

Great commit for Michigan!

Don't know what to say about the rest of you'se guys.  I will say; however, that the reasons for many of the football comments on the blog during the season are coming into focus for me.

was that he laid out a long list of McElwain's stumbles, saying it did not add up to a good hire. Instead of refuting him the herd, which had all run one way when McElwain's name first surfaced, all headed in the other direction. The absence of strong facts to support McElwain remains conspicuous.

What if we took each case on its merits? Go watch any of the pressers around the time of McElwain's firing, where the self-pitying wretch makes up a story that his family is being threatened to generate sympathy for his failures as a coach. Death-defyingly weak. I hope he succeeds here too, because I grew up and went to Michigan and love my school. McElwain must have something to offer; I respect Jimmy Harbaugh, but the record is plain demonstrable bad. And to condemn Brian for making a case that is readily available for scrutiny (take a look at the comments on opponent discussion boards), en masse, like children glorying in sticking one to their schoolmaster? Let's stiffen our spines just a little; we can handle real debate.

Man its fucking sickening that I cant even go into a commitment post anymore and not see half the board whining and crying. Nut up bitches.

I swear he could start at RT this year if he was on the team. Strong, solid footwork and great punch. Plus he picks up the twist and stunt like a pro ! This is an awesome commit. Go Blue !!!

Good pull!!!  Hoep we keep him.  I havent been intune lately, are we at all in on Dobbs??  Still going after Brown even though he is committed to Wisconsin??  Would seem like a giant waste to let 2 highly rated OT's get away from our backyard...
