Te'Cory Couch Commits To Michigan
The lack of a spring game and some ugly weather couldn't put a damper on a big recruiting weekend for Michigan, as today they gained a commitment from four-star Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna Prep cornerback Te'Cory Couch, who entered the weekend as a soft Tennessee pledge.
Couch is ranked 292nd overall on the 247 Composite. He's the eight commitment for Michigan in the 2019 class and the first in the defensive backfield. If the class calculator is correct, his pledge vaults M's class from eighth to fifth in the country and first in the Big Ten.
Today is my personal last-minute Tax Day, so a full Hello post will hit the front page tomorrow.
It just might be that MOAR CHICK FIL A was the push we needed to get top croots.
Welcome young fella
Let's just keep him away from the Staee students after those games.
Love this commit. He's going to be a player!
I saved what I could but, you know...it wasn't all that good to begin with
2019 Recruit: Te'Cory Couch – Tennessee Orange – Medium
The first thing one notices is that absolutely no one site can accurately confirm Couch’s height or weight. He’s either 5’9 1/2″, 5’10” or 6’1″. His weight ranges from 148 lbs. to 165 lbs. Granted, he’s a young man and still in the growing process, as well as putting on muscle, so I went with the highest height and weights listed.
Last season, as a junior, Couch tallied 57 total tackles, 1 sack and 2 interceptions run back for 18 yards in 10 games. Where he truly shined was in passes defended, his agility and speed allowed him to bat 25 passes away from his opponent’s grasp. He back-peddles well and his lateral movements are top of the line. Does not shy away from big hits, but can use coaching on taking the correct path towards the ball carrier. Has the agility to evade blockers. More of a ball hawk than a heat seeker. Hands are good, but better at knocking the ball out of the way of covered receivers. Will need to put on extra muscle if he intends to play safety and defend against tight ends at the collegiate level.
High upside for whichever college Couch ends up with.
Edit: Actually Thanks GOOGLE the site is cache'd here:

Go Blue!
I could see him playing offense and or special teams since we don't usually go after cbs that small. 24/7 has him as an athlete. Were also rumored to be getting close to a committ from that Karsen Barnhart kid from Paw Paw. 3 star OT. His crystal ball went from 70% msu to 92% Michigan over the weekend.

Don Brown didn't go hard for Couch just to see him end up on the other side of the ball. From what Webb said in his recruiting roundup section on him, Couch will be especially valuable covering slot receivers.

did he even play O for his high school team?
but is speculation, not a confirmation.
Meh. He's not as skilled as those guys. He might be almost as good in coverage because he's physical.

Fluid athlete with good speed. Good recovery skills. A bit lanky and undersized right now. He knows how to play Press Coverage, and is aggressive with his 5 yrd punch.
He can be a bit awkward coming out of his backpedal and getting in to his break. He needs to work on lowering his center of gravity and keeping his feet under him and turning and running. He will improve his technique through drills at the next level in practice.
Good pickup.
