Rod Moore Returns Comment Count

We interrupt a (hopefully) in-progress victory over Ohio State to bring some news about the man who ended the last one.

We are looking into the whereabouts of the three safeties that Ohio State recruited over the best safety in the state of Ohio over Rod's high school career. The man who started against Ohio State as a true freshman, played the best game by a Michigan safety in my charting history against Ohio State in 2022, and then collected the Game-winner in 2023 will be back for more in 2024. Michigan is now 1/2 on getting their #9s back.

Hot take: This is a bigger deal than the last one.

by my reckoning, we've got starters ID'd everywhere on D except for...2nd CB. and LB and tackle still have plenty of depth too!

O the big ?s are QB and IOL, altho the receivers group will be youngish too. Orji/Edwards running and throwing and catching with Kalel leading the rest of the bigger backs will make the offense fun and goofy while the D is just killing it. IOL has some experience too, I trust it'll be pretty good.

RUN IT BACK. BEAT OHIO. BEAT GEORGIA. LFG!

That is a HOT take, Seth. Not sure if I can fully agree with that. Having JJ back (although I get it, the best QB record of the modern era intact) for his senior year would have been huge.

Great news.

I interpret Seth's hot take as a reference to Edwards' announcement.  If so, I understand the sentiment. I'm not prepared to contest the take; I'm just excited to have both of them back.

Edwards may not have put himself in the same conversation as Barry Sanders and Walter Payton this year, but he has at least put himself in the same conversation as Robert Horry.

Does he slide down to the hybrid db/safety/lb role this year to replace Sainristil? Seems like the best way to sell him on increasing his draft stock and getting QJ and Paige to come back

I'm glad he's back.  He's a great player and will be invaluable for us next year.  But if you think he is a "bigger deal" than getting JJ back, not sure what you're smoking.
