I guess I walked myself right into that one.
September 29th, 2010 at 11:26 PM ^
It's typically a cocked eyebrow in the general direction of inappropriate material. I think it's a high point guy that thought it would be funny.
September 30th, 2010 at 2:55 AM ^
How do you google an image?
September 29th, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
I've had it up to here with that symbol or whatever it is. When your post consists entirely of that, and you do it 100 times without meaningful comments, you're just a troll in my eyes. No worse than responding, "I agree", or "Cool".
September 29th, 2010 at 11:46 PM ^
Agree 10000%. It was cool/funny/interesting maybe once. Even that's a stretch.
Now it's just lame and more played out than the latest Lady GaGa song.
Worst thing is the dude that posts that all the time got 50 points for his latest posting of that. Really? That's considered a quality post now, on par with MS Paint?
It needs to end. Sooner rather than later.
September 29th, 2010 at 11:50 PM ^
What about when you combine it with MSPaint?
imo, it's the perfect response to stupid threads/questions
September 29th, 2010 at 11:57 PM ^
That I can handle. At least it's fresh/original/creative in its application of the ಠ_ಠ
But just this:
ಠ_ಠ
.....over and over repeatedly, ad nauseum, is lame.
September 30th, 2010 at 12:53 AM ^
It's all about comedic timing. Personally I think the dude's fantastic.
September 30th, 2010 at 1:06 AM ^
To each his own, I reckon.
To me it just seems like it's being overused.
September 30th, 2010 at 7:28 AM ^
It's utterly over-done. It's just bullshit that's been brought over from Reddit, as far as I know. Interestingly, unlike most things overdone these days, it isn't used in an ironic way.
September 30th, 2010 at 9:21 AM ^
I agree...
September 30th, 2010 at 7:36 AM ^
When he replies is it usually a response to something that deserves a "furrowed brow." I have yet to see him start a topic. Have you?
And let me put your concerns to rest. Him tallying 50 points for such a response has absolutely no impact to your own point stash.
September 29th, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
Don't make it angry. Look what happened when I questioned it...

Should be tagged as Meta.
Also, it doesn't show up right for me. I just see two squares with an underscore.
September 30th, 2010 at 7:54 AM ^
you're on a Mac. If that is the case, they used the Windows characters to do this rather than finding out the Unicode characters that would make it work for everyone.
September 30th, 2010 at 7:57 AM ^
It's true. A quick googling solved the mystery for me, lol.
September 29th, 2010 at 11:45 PM ^
I feel like I'm caught in a Geico commercial...
September 29th, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Hi!
I'm very happy to explain that the symbols you're referring to are an internet meme called the "look of disapproval."
Let me know if you need anything else!
September 29th, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
I'm kind of disappointed you didn't reply with the conventional look of disapproval, "Combo Breaker"
These posts are hilarious
Also thanks to everyone who posted the explanatory links
September 30th, 2010 at 3:36 AM ^
Damn, that looks like shit. Ignore me.
September 30th, 2010 at 7:30 AM ^
words. Sometimes words can convey ideas even better than symbols you found on Reddit.
September 30th, 2010 at 8:20 AM ^
Most of the posts he's used it on don't warrant a typed response. Slow your roll, it's one of the best ways to respond to stupid posts/questions. Along the same lines of "Cool story, bro", but far superior.
September 30th, 2010 at 8:21 AM ^
IT TALKS!

September 30th, 2010 at 6:27 AM ^
It is KINDOF important...
September 29th, 2010 at 11:53 PM ^
It comes from reddit, it's the "look of disapproval".
September 30th, 2010 at 8:00 AM ^
I'm surprised there's not more redditors on here, cuz ive seen the FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU meme on here a couple times too
September 30th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
I like that guy. One of my faves
September 30th, 2010 at 12:36 AM ^
do I laugh out loud every time I see it? This has to stop sooner or later right?
September 30th, 2010 at 4:04 AM ^
I don't get it. I post a dissertation and get a -1. This guy posts a "look" and is making a killing. At least now I know why Dane Cook is successful....
September 30th, 2010 at 7:45 AM ^
This guy posts a "look" and is making a killing.
Perfectly worded. +1 to help redeem some of your losses.
September 30th, 2010 at 8:28 AM ^
Length != Quality
Also, funny looks are much more in the realm of great comics like John Belushi and Paul Rudd, not hacks like Dane Cook. And are you really that concerned about your points that someone else getting upvoted angers you?
September 30th, 2010 at 8:45 AM ^
A dissertation
In a 5-7-5 form
Will get you +1s.
But, ask yourself this:
"Is it the affirmation,
approval I need?"
Maybe confidence
in your ideas is that
for which you should seek
That we can't provide
That little bit requires
You, finding yourself
(or maybe your dissertation sucked!)
September 30th, 2010 at 7:16 AM ^
It's just funny that after someone posts a long thread bitching about stupid stuff and going on and on, and then all you get in a response is:
ಠ_ಠ
It's just a perfect response somtimes.
September 30th, 2010 at 7:26 AM ^
But the key word here is "sometimes". Like any good comedic meme, the use of it needs to be carefully selected so as to not wear it out.If you keep using it, it might get irritating. THATS WHAT SHE SAID!!
September 30th, 2010 at 8:10 AM ^
Absolutely. I would like to see it here and there, maybe forget about it for a while and then BAM! there it is. It's all about timing people.
And that, is what she said.
