Biggest steal of the draft! Congrats Mo and thanks Gruden for drafting a great player!
That's disappointing.

as an all-timer. I CANNOT believe Mo Hurst was picked in the 5th round. Years from now we will talk about how dumb NFL GMs are, and this will be the best evidence.
It'll be like Tom Brady being drafted in the 6th round.
To be fair, 2000 was a weird year for quarterbacks - the first one to go, as I recall, was Chad Pennington at #18 and that was AFTER a kicker by the name of Sebastian Janikowski, who would go on to be a good kicker, of course. In the context of that particular draft, if you ask me if I am shocked in retrospect that someone now known as "The GOAT" fell to the sixth round, I wouldn't be shocked. Just an odd draft as NFL drafts go.
got the value of the draft. A tough D lineman with quickness and a huge motor. No pun intended - but Mo Hurst has PLENTY of heart.
I hope he has a long and successful NFL career and life, and shows all the teams who drafted D Linemen in rounds 2 through 4 that they made a huge mistake.
Congrats Mo!
i don't get this free fall. i mean even he doesn't pan out, are people going to say 5 years from now "damn, i can't believe we wasted a 3rd round pick on hurst". yet, his upside is huge. he's the best DT i've ever seen here at UM, let alone almost everywhere else, and i go back a ways.
here's to hoping for a long and healthy career for Mo.
Gruden's gonna love him!
Oakland in play!
Play(s). For the first time since Kenny Stabler I can find some interest in watching The Raiders(Chris Berman voice). Glad for Mo but would love to see him in the Blue and Maize with next years team. Looking forward to the signature belly rub on Sundays. Go get em Mo!!!!
I have to admit, I don't recall ever reading or hearing it in that order. NTTAWWT maybe
But now the question will be how to use him effectively.
Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the heart....something something something...IDK. Mo's heart will be all in on this. IMO when all is said and done Mo will be mentioned in the same breath as all the great Raiders on defense...and IIRC there are many.

Was thinking yesterday the most out of character franchise for Mo would be the Raiders and wa la. Good luck to Mo. Hope he has a long and great career in NFL.
WTF?? He had the same thing at Michigan, and was cleared to play. It was just last year that he missed some spring practice time. He's fine, and John fucking Gruden will reap the benefits.
I wish the Giants drafted instead of the dude from Miami. Congrats Mo, I hope your heart is ok and you become the Tom Brady/Antonio Brown of d tackles.
Unbelievable he fell to the 5th round. I'm happy he found a landing spot though. Wear that chip proudly, Mo.
Really happy for Mo. Been hoping to hear his name for 3 days now.
and we'll be grandfathered into the payola scheme

The NFL can judge talent.
What the NFL can also do well is Risk Management.... Maycock said this during the draft: teams loved Hurst, loved his tape, loved his character.
But they were scared of his heart condition...
could be nothing, could be something that is catastrophic on the field...or doesn't allow him to play a snap...
He fell a bit further than i thought.. i was thinking late 3rd...
But if this condition is stable, the Raiders got the steal of the draft.
