Please relink. I am actually in the mood to read things about Rich Rod.

Here's a better link.

Triangle of secrecy? Sounds vaguely erotic.

These guys don't get it, with all their "circles" and "triangles".
The rhombus is where it's at.

So glad RichRod is long gone. He could be doe for good in college football.

Link is missing a "c" in Tucson.
This seems like the most mild piece of news out of the Rich Rod drama this offseason. Nothing in there seemed that eggregiously bad other than some of the language in the "wives" section.
February 27th, 2018 at 9:26 PM ^
That's what I thought too. I was waiting for a part where all coaches are encouraged to share their wives or something but nothing even close.
February 28th, 2018 at 11:36 AM ^
a typical head coaches manual. Other than maybe the "wives" section, which seemed cut from a 1950s TV show, almost every coach has a book like this that serves as a template for how they want the program to be run.
That being said, it doesn't absolve Rodriguez of whatever wrong-doing he's being accused of.
February 27th, 2018 at 9:25 PM ^
That sounds very weird. Some of the messages seemed sound and based on good principles of leading by example, having respect for players, using good language. However, the stuff about the "triangle of secrecy" where they were encouraged to keep private secrets and be careful what they shared with their wives, that is where it seemed like a little too much kool-aid to me.

Have to say about what an assistant coach should do when, after telling their wife control her talk they are banished to the sofa? Must be something in the minutia about this. Oh wait...here...take a mistress but make sure to keep her away from your wife. A cat fight would reflect poorly on the program and be a poor example for the young men in the team.

It was Rich Rod's lawyer that released it. Would they have released it if it was everything the plaintiff said it was?
February 28th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
No, but there's also a big gulf between "Title IX doesn't exist in this program" and what those books included.

Golf shirts with dress shoes?? The man was indeed a monster

Is it true there is a "only Josh Groban albums played in facility" section to the book?
February 27th, 2018 at 11:19 PM ^
some Groban.

I read the article. Dullest thing I've read in a long, long time. Do everyone here a favor: rebreak the link.
February 27th, 2018 at 10:09 PM ^
The way the article phrases it - "the book produced by Rodriguez's attorneys" - I wonder if this is the whole book, or if it underwent a bit of editing before it was released.
Although if so, I'm surprised the "control their talk" bit would be left in there.

No telling what may be in the 2013/14/16/17 versions.
I wonder how miss Rita feels about these rules and regs?
And why the stupid name "Hideaway Book"?
So glad this guy is no longer associated with us.
February 28th, 2018 at 9:06 AM ^
For sure - and I don't mean to suggest he's innocent of the allegations. As you point out, maybe these ones were released because they were PR-friendly while others weren't. While these are mostly innocuous I can't help but observe that drama seems to always be around RichRod in some way.
February 28th, 2018 at 11:48 AM ^
I never thought you were suggesting innocence on his behalf.
I'm guessing the other versions are nearly identical but as as you stated drama (well deserved) follows him so it would be funny if there were outrageous writings in the non-released editions.

in acknowledging that this clown was just one more numbnutz creepy cretin. With luck he will now be drummed out of the coaching fraternity and have to open a Marco's franchise in Grant Town, West Virginia.
